The Gods of the Universe Saga (宇宙の神々編 Uchū no Kamigami Hen, lit. "Gods of the Universe Arc) is the story arc following the Kid Buu Saga.[1] The events of this era are depicted in the two movies Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ and also in the Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ manga. This saga was also adapted into the first two sagas of the Dragon Ball Super series.
Plot[]
The God of Destruction's Awakening[]
In Age 778, the God of Destruction Beerus awakens and begins searching for the legendary Super Saiyan God. He confronts the Z-Fighters during Bulma's birthday party, with Goku facing him in a climactic battle that will decide the fate of the Earth.
The Emperor's Rebirth[]
A year later, in Age 779, the worst wish in history is granted as the galactic tyrant Frieza is resurrected by his men with the Earth Dragon Balls. After four months of training, he invades Earth, intent on killing Goku. Goku and Vegeta, who have both ascended to a form beyond Super Saiyan God, confront Frieza and they engage in an earth-shattering battle that surpasses even the gods.
