"You've got a lot to learn. Here on Earth, we like to live together in peace and harmony, although that's not always been the case. We've had our fair share of enemies, trust me. But, I don't think that you're one of them. For some reason, I can just tell. You can stop fighting. You don't have to listen to what the others tell you to do."
Goku using this technique against Broly in Dragon Ball Super: Broly

God Bind (ゴッドバインド Goddo Baindo) is a technique used by Goku in his Super Saiyan God form.

Overview[]

Goku performs the technique by channeling his divine Saiyan power through his hands, generating a circular flow of energy to surround his opponent, stopping them in their tracks and restraining them from moving. While the technique can be effective, a recipient who turns out to be more powerful than Goku can overcome the technique with one of their own to free themselves while restraining Goku instead.

Usage[]

In the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku uses telekinesis on Transformed Moro in a similar vein to the God Bind, freezing him in place to land a heavy blow.[1]

Film Appearances[]

In Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Super Saiyan God Goku used this technique against Wrathful Broly in an attempt to talk him down, though Broly was less than willing to listen and overflowed the God Bind with his own energy, placing Goku in his Aura Trap.

Variations[]

Video Game Appearances[]

In Dokkan Battle, it is named God Bind and is Super Saiyan God Goku Super Attack, where it is followed by the Gravity Bash.

In Dragon Ball Legends, it is Super Saiyan God Goku's Special Arts Card.

Trivia[]

  • The technique is a possible reference to Sun Wukong, who possessed the ability to freeze his opponents in place.
