(→‎Trivia: An interesting observation, but since it involved Gohan only indirectly, it's more suited to Trunks' page; I've moved it there.)
(→‎Trivia: This isn't just speculation, but comes across as admonishing Gohan for not training efficiently. Not really appropriate.)

*According to Goku, Gohan's handicaps while fighting, i.e. blinded in the eye via [[Lavender]]'s poison, was the perfect training for him, which heightened his other senses, being able to detect his opponent's movements with his Super Saiyan ''ki'', allowing him to attack even at the loss of his vision, Future Gohan should have done the same too, when he was briefly blinded by the androids during their fight, but because of his inexperience, and never tapping to his hidden potential as his present self, combined with the loss of his left arm, he never tried to sense the androids' movements using his Super Saiyan ''ki'' like a radar, resulting in his defeat. It should be noted that Lavender has undetectable ''ki'' which is similar to the Androids as they also have undetectable ''ki'' due to its artificial nature.

*Even though in the Unknown History Saga's story said that Future Gohan defeated the Androids with Xeno Trunks in his Super Saiyan form after is power had been released, the player can choose between his base and Future Super Saiyan form to fight the androids in-game, depending on their choice, players might make Gohan fight the androids with just his base form, instead of going Super Saiyan and eventually defeat them simply in his base form.

*The Future Gohan that appeared on Conton City might be from after he defeated the androids in the Unknown History Saga, as he, with little help from the Future Warrior as his student, was able to quickly defeat the future androids of another alternate timeline (presumably created by Chronoa for his student to train or she brought in the Future Androids from a time fragment timeline) using only his base form, this implies that this Future Gohan continued to train after many years of peace before being brought to Conton City, that he was vastly stronger than the original one killed by the androids of that unaltered timeline, unlocking more of his potential, as he can defeat the androids over and over again if the Warrior, as his student, chooses to fight with him one more time (however again this may be simply due to game mechanics as CPUs never use Awoken Skills to transform unless they are programmed to and the fact Future Gohan has backup from the more powerful Future Warrior and that the Future Androids may have been created for training purposes and are not actually the real ones from another timeline).

"You know you can't win! You can't destroy what I really am! Even if you manage to kill this body, someone even stronger would surface and take my place! Not one death will go unaccounted for, not one!"
Dragon Ball Z: The History of Trunks

Future Gohan (らいそんはん Mirai no Gohan) is the alternate timeline counterpart of Gohan that appears in the timeline in which Future Trunks lives.[6]

Future Gohan is showcased as a twenty-three-year-old man and is depicted as the mentor of Future Trunks. After his father dies from a heart virus and cannot be wished back with the Dragon Balls, due to his death being a natural cause and the murder of the Z Fighters at the hands of Android 17 and Android 18 six months later, Gohan becomes Earth's last line of defense. Now a Super Saiyan, he spends the following thirteen years attempting to take down the androids, all the while training Future Trunks in the hope that he may one day be able to defeat them.

Appearance

Future Gohan before acquiring his facial scar

Future Gohan appears as a tall, stern, and muscular man. He also dons a uniform greatly resembling that of Goku's early uniform, and states that he is inspired to wear it in the hopes that he will one day be as strong as he was. The only differences between his uniform and Goku's is that the sleeves are longer on his, his boots are a dark blue with yellowish stripes on the bottom edges and without the line running in the middle of the boots from top to bottom, and he also wears his own kanji symbol on the back, Han, 飯.[7] Bulma even states that Gohan looked strikingly similar to Goku when wearing this uniform. He never changed his hairstyle since his childhood, but the longer part of his hair is cut much shorter, somewhat resembling the haircut his alternate past counterpart had when he first trained in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, and when fighting with Cell, only it was more grown into (because Future Gohan was a full-grown adult). He also obtains a scar that runs down the left side of his face, the after effect of an injury sustained during a battle with the androids that also cost him his left arm. When Future Gohan was revived in Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai - Another Road, Gohan's arm was restored yet retained his scar.

Personality

Like his mainstream self's personality as a child, in his childhood, Future Gohan lacked the fighting spirit of his father and, as a fighter, he is mostly a coward and is a shy little boy, was gentle of heart, a pacifist in nature, but when enraged for seeing his friends hurt, his hidden dormant potential briefly revealed itself, he was also intensely focused in his studies, until the time his father died of the heart virus and the invasion of the androids and the murder of his friends, especially his mentor Future Piccolo, which is the period of the time divergence, and the period that dramatically changed him for the rest of his life. 13 years after the death of the Z Fighters, due to the apocalyptic world that he spent the latter half of his life in, Future Gohan, now an adult, is shown being far more serious and aggressive than his present timeline counterpart as a teen and adult, who was quite naïve, awkward, and is more laid-back and comical (especially when donning his Great Saiyaman outfit). Future Gohan seemed to have lost his pacifist-like demeanor which he had as a child, and is shown to be in quite a bit of pain and stress after all the years of challenging the androids alone, and has a sort of "do or die" attitude, fiercely driven to destroy the Androids for all the death and destruction they caused.

However, as seen in his brief moments of peace, Future Gohan does retain his calm and cheerful nature, much like his father and present counterpart. During which, he enjoys life for what it is worth, most notably when telling Future Trunks to forget about becoming a Super Saiyan until he knows he is ready. Future Gohan also is incredibly close to Future Trunks, and appears to even consider him as his little brother. Although he once shared the same dream as his mainstream counterpart of becoming a scholar, due to the apocalyptic event that took place, Future Gohan presumably never went to school to fulfill that dream. It is assumed he spent all of his time training and pondering ways to stop the android. Future Gohan said to Future Bulma that he always dreamed of being strong like his father

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, it is revealed that he is still highly intelligent like his main timeline counterpart, able to quickly figure out that the Trunks that assisted him is from the future. He was also able to learn that his fateful encounter with the androids has a purpose. He realizes that there shouldn't be anyone as powerful as the Future Warrior living on Earth, as he would have already noticed them by that point, causing him to wonder where they came from. Later in the Unknown History Saga, when Xeno Trunks alters the course of history for this timeline so that Future Gohan actually destroys the androids, Gohan mentions that he is looking forward to taking a break and enjoying the peace but will still defend and protect the world with Xeno Trunks, officially taking over his father's role in the greatly altered future timeline. While working as an Instructor in Conton City as part of the Masters Pack DLC, if the Future Warrior trains under his Present counterpart and Videl, Future Gohan will learn they are training under his main timeline counterpart and is actually comforted by the fact that there is a different more peaceful version of events out there, showing he is happy to hear that his counterpart didn't go through the same things he had to and was able to live a peaceful life. Additionally his special dialogue with Great Saiyaman, he notes that it looks like his counterpart is having a blast and apparently has no problem with his counterpart's goofy alter-ego, indicating that while they have different personalities, they still share some of the same tastes and Future Gohan may have been more like his counterpart if he had grown up in more peaceful times.

Young Future Gohan discovers his father has passed away, an event that would impact his entire life

The point of timeline divergence with Future Gohan and his main timeline counterpart occurred when Future Frieza arrived on Earth in August of Age 764. Originally, Future Goku uses his Instant Transmission technique to arrive and kill Frieza and his father (Goku even states to Future Trunks in the main series that was what he was going to do), but the events in the series differ, as Future Trunks arrives and kills the tyrants instead of Goku, thus the timeline divergence.[8] Future Gohan hails from the true original timeline (one without a Future Trunks coming back in time, obviously) and because of this, the events that unfold are far different from those in the main series.

After the death of his father due to a lethal heart virus in Age 766, and then the murders of the Z Fighters by the androids on May 12th, Age 767 and the Dragon Balls becoming useless forever, due to Future Piccolo's death and Future Kami's death as the Z Fighters are unable to be wished back to life, Gohan's life is altered drastically.[9] It is stated that the death of Gohan's friends, like Future Piccolo and Future Krillin, sparked his transformation into a Super Saiyan, in these events, he never met Videl or had a little brother (as Present Gohan did), nor went to school to fulfill his dream to become a scholar, making him completely a warrior, thanks to Future Trunks' Time Machine, Gohan's character and life is split into two different timeline incarnations (with the aforementioned Gohan who lived in a peaceful world and the Gohan featured here in an apocalyptic timeline)

GohanFutureFutureTrunksTraining

Future Gohan training with Future Trunks

Over the course of the following thirteen years, Gohan trains himself to be able to take down the androids, and over time, develops a close relationship to Trunks, the son of Vegeta and Bulma. As the last remaining Z Fighter, and by extension, family member generation (because he never met Videl, or started a relationship with her) he continuously takes it upon himself to challenge the androids, even though he is outnumbered and outclassed. Gohan becomes a Super Saiyan sometime during the years-long struggle against the androids. In the special, Trunks also states that being a half-Saiyan hybrid like himself, Gohan must understand how he feels about not being able to stop the androids, and while he does, Gohan still states that Trunks is currently an emotional wreck like he was when he was not allowed to train and fight with his friends.

Future Gohan's first true appearance in the special is his arrival at a city the androids had just recently attacked, thirteen years after the Z Fighters had been killed. He encounters Future Trunks in the ruins of the city, and after hearing his plea to learn to fight, agrees to take him under his wing. Over the course of the next thirteen years, Gohan becomes Trunks' mentor and trains him in everything he knows, also teaching him swordsmanship.[10]

GohanFutureVsFutureAndroid17

Future Gohan engages Android 17 in battle

During a day of relaxation, the androids attack the theme park Super World while Gohan and Trunks happen to be flying overhead. The two quickly head toward the park to battle the androids. Upon arrival, Gohan instructs Trunks to stay out of the fight. Gohan then battles with Android 17, transforms into his Super Saiyan form and despite a few lucky hits from Android 17, quickly gains the upper-hand. However, Android 18 soon intervenes and Gohan finds himself quickly overwhelmed. In an attempt to assist Gohan, Trunks rushes in only to be quickly defeated by Android 18. However, before Android 18 can deliver a powerful energy blast to the young warrior, Gohan rushes in and takes the attack for him, saving Trunks' life. Gohan then carries the unconscious Trunks while trying to find a place to hide. He is successful in hiding until the androids decide to bomb the entire area in hopes of driving them out. Gohan manages to protect Trunks and stay hidden, but at the cost of his left arm, which is completely blown off in the bombing.

Merely one Senzu Bean remains in Gohan's bag and rather than use it to restore his arm, he chooses to give it to Trunks, which saves him from death. Trunks awakes a moment later and brings the unconscious Gohan back to Capsule Corporation where Bulma treats his wounds. After Gohan's injuries heal, the two resume training. Trunks, pushing ever closer to becoming a Super Saiyan, quickly begins to improve day by day.

The End of a Hero

"Sorry about that Trunks, but I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if anything happened to you. This is my battle for now little brother, you're not quite ready yet. I can feel them all crying down there Trunks, that's why I have to go! I know you'll understand someday. See ya later kid..."

Future Gohan prepares for his final battle against the Androids

Several time later, during a day of training, the nearby Pepper Town is attacked by the androids. Gohan prepares himself for battle, only to see young Trunks begging to fight alongside him. Gohan seemingly accepts, only to knock Trunks out to avoid the young warrior from being nearly killed again, or worse. The one-armed Gohan seals his final fate when he flies into the city alone and ambushes the androids. Despite his handicap, Gohan puts up a long, suspenseful fight against the combined power of the androids.

Future Gohan is killed by the androids

As Gohan tries his hardest to keep his defenses up, the androids then blast a building when Gohan, interrupting his vision. The two androids then knock Gohan down and continuously blast Gohan with continuous energy waves, killing him. Trunks awakens when Gohan's ki depletes. He then searches the city, only to find Gohan's dead body laying in a pool of blood and water. His rage bursts out and he transforms into a Super Saiyan for the first time.

  • It is to be noted that in the manga chapter upon which the special is based, not only was the first battle against the Androids (where Gohan obtains his facial scar and severed arm) never shown, but Trunks was already able to transform into a Super Saiyan, and Android 18 presumably never joins the battle, as Android 17 mockingly brags that he only used under half of his maximum when he defeated Gohan over a year ago, and kills him with ease before Trunks is able to awaken and find Gohan's corpse in the debris (also notable is that no rain is ever seen during this scene, although Trunks ramming his fists into the ground in frustration is shown, if much less accentuated).

Super Saiyan Gohan and Trunks charge the Androids in a desperate attempt

In the Dragon Ball Z episode "Ghosts from Tomorrow", a flashback via Trunks showcases Future Gohan waging a battle against Androids 17 and 18. In the flashback, Gohan battles with Android 18 first, but despite a few good blows, he is eventually smashed into a rock pile when Android 17 intervenes. Before the downed warrior can rise again, the androids prepare to assault him, but Trunks steps in and cuts off a few locks of Android 18's hair. Trunks is attacked but Gohan is able to save him.

However, he is quickly overwhelmed so he and Trunks hide among the ruins of the city in order to devise a plan. A flashback of Gohan picturing his dying father is shown, and he states he will strive to make him proud. The next scene shows Gohan and Trunks charging at the androids, but nothing beyond this is seen other than a large explosion and Trunks' narrative describing his mentor's death.

Future Kid Gohan leaves the battlefield in the Dragon Ball Super bonus chapter

In the Extra Edition 1 manga chapter, a flashback shows Future Gohan as a kid and it is revealed that the young Future Gohan survived the battle with the Androids as he had left to find the Dragon Balls and save the planet before Future Piccolo dies. He is picked up by Future Bulma in her airplane with baby Future Trunks in tow. She informs Future Gohan that someone has gathered the Dragon Balls and he checks the Dragon Radar noting they are all in one place. They race to get the Dragon Balls before the wish is made. Unfortunately the Pilaf Gang had managed to complete the summoning and Future Pilaf bungles his wish resulting in himself, Future Mai, and Future Shu get turned into babies. Future Bulma and Future Gohan arrive too late and Gohan screams in anguish when he notices the Dragon Balls drop to the ground as stones instead of scattering across the Earth signaling the death of Future Piccolo and Future Kami.

Super Saiyan Future Gohan going to face the androids

Like what was seen in the TV Special, Future Gohan appears in Dragon Ball Super during Future Trunks' flashback. In it, Gohan is with Trunks sit down when the androids attack a city nearby, Gohan transforms into a Super Saiyan and asks Trunks to stay, but he refuses and wants to go with his master, Gohan agrees and when both prepares to go, Gohan knocks Trunks out and goes by himself to face the androids. Later, Trunks finds Gohan's dead body, much to his sadness and begins to cry, achieving for the first time his Super Saiyan transformation.

Although only appearing in flashbacks, Future Gohan's spirit was destroyed when Future Zeno erased Future Trunks' timeline to eliminate Infinite Zamasu once and for all. An image of Future Gohan appeared when Gohan arrived to wave Trunks goodbye, causing the latter to reminisce the times he and Future Gohan shared. A tearful Trunks dwells on his failure to protect his world, but was cheered up by Gohan's optimistic words. His soul still exists in the second alternate future timeline created by Whis.

Future Gohan

Super Saiyan Future Gohan facing the androids

The Future Warrior finds Future Trunks looking at his timeline's Scroll of Eternity which shows Future Gohan's fight against Future 17 & 18 that leads to his death in Age 780. Trunks is reminded of his sorrow over the loss of his master when he witnesses his first Super Saiyan transformation via the scroll. Later while talking with the Future Warrior, Elder Kai, and Chronoa, a history change occurs within the Scroll of Age 780 and as it is dangerous for Trunks to go into his own history, the Future Warrior is tasked with fixing it alone. In the altered history of Age 780, Future Gohan is confronted by Dark Future Android 16 and is surprised when he realizes there is another Android. Future 16 states his mission is to eliminate the son of Goku. Fortunately, the Future Warrior arrives and teams up with Future Gohan. Noticing the Warrior's strength, Future Gohan is surprised there is another strong warrior around, but after thinking about it realizes there shouldn't be anyone else that strong on Earth. The two eventually manage to defeat Future 16, however they are soon confronted by the evil demonic Android, Mira. While Future Gohan is confused wth the situation, he teams up with the Future Warrior against Mira, however Mira is too strong for them. Refusing to see his master and the warrior die at the hands of Mira, Trunks defies the Supreme Kai of Time's orders and travels to Age 780 to join the fight. Gohan is surprised to see the grown up Super Saiyan Trunks, but decides to focus on the battle at hand. Together Trunks, Gohan, and the Warrior manage to overpower Mira, who is surprised that his power is still not enough, before retreating.

"If you're here all grown up... Then the future... is safe, isn't it? And so... this fight has a real purpose. That's enough for me. Trunks... It looks like you've made a good friend. You can't abandon a good friend, can you? It was really good to see, Trunks."

Future Gohan and Time Portal Trunks

Future Gohan's reunion with Trunks in Xenoverse 2

Afterwards Gohan talks with Trunks and correctly surmises that Trunks is from the future, assuming that Trunks' presence meant he had used his mother's finished Time Machine to travel to Age 780. Overcome with emotion after being reunited with his mentor and refusing to let his master die, Trunks asks to join Gohan in fighting 17 & 18, despite knowing that this would be in violation of the original history and in direct defiance of the Supreme Kai of Time. Chronoa fails to convince Trunks to reconsider and asks the Future Warrior to get him to reconsider. However, before they can do so, Gohan steps in and having deduced his fate, asks if Gohan's actions would bring peace to the future, causing Trunks to momentarily pause. Knowing it is for the greater good, Gohan decides to accept his fate and leaves to face 17 & 18 alone. Trunks tries to follow but is blocked by the Future Warrior. Gohan convinces Trunks to let him leave and says the Future Warrior is a good friend. Gohan then leaves to confront his fate while Trunks and the Future Warrior return to Age 852. The Supreme of Kai Time, Elder Kai, and the Warrior observe Trunks as he watches Gohan heroically die fighting the Androids.

"I will never die! Even if my body breaks... ...another will rise in my place to dismantle you heartless androids!"
— Future Gohan words during his final confrontation with 17 & 18 in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

It is implied that Gohan's original statements to 17 and 18 in The History of Trunks special about someone stronger rising to defeat them was due to his encounter with Xeno Trunks in the altered timeline. This is suggested by Supreme Kai of Time's and Elder Kai's comments about allowing their encounter to remain as part of the timeline (as such alterations are usually erased when Chronoa puts the scrolls together after any history changes are fixed, though this time she wonders if it will be okay to leave it as is and Elder Kai smugly agrees they will just let this one slip by, presumably out of respect of Xeno Trunks and Future Gohan), while they are observing Trunks watch Future Gohan's death in the altered timeline via the Time Scroll. It should also be noted that Future Gohan does not speak those words when Xeno Trunks is observing Future Gohan's final moments in the unaltered history of Age 780 shown before the history change.

Unknown History Saga

Main article: Unknown History Saga In the second mission and final mission of the Unknown History Saga, due to an change in history caused by Towa's Distorted Time Eggs, Future Trunks ends up showing up to help Future Gohan fight the Androids, letting his emotions take him over and not caring about the circumstances of changing the course of history. Upon defeating the Androids, Trunks decides to stay in the newly made alternate timeline with Future Gohan, using his knowledge as a Time Patroller in order to prepare for future threats such as Future Cell and Future Majin Buu. Future Gohan jokingly calls him a "human crystal ball". Chronoa shows this change to the Future Warrior and asks their opinion on how they think she should handle it. Chronoa will thank them for their opinion but regardless of the Warrior's choice, Chronoa says she ultimately has the final say on the matter. The ending is unclear if Chronoa chose to fix the change, erase it, or leave it as it is. Chronoa later explains that the defective Time Eggs Towa created caused changes in history that strongly reflect the thoughts of the other people there, which created a timeline where Xeno Trunks chose to save his mentor's life, instead of allowing him to die as he did in the restored original timeline. Afterwards, this altered version of himself had ended up in Conton City, presumably at Chronoa's request, for the sake of Xeno Trunks, there, the Future Warrior can find him and request to become their mentor, where he will teach them all his techniques and all he knows, unbeknownst to him, Android 18 (Chronoa picked the present timeline one post-marriage with Krillin who also works as an Instructor) was also there, waiting to be a mentor for anyone.

Warrior of Hope Saga

Through the rip in spacetime created by Goku Black using his Sickle of Sorrow and his Time Ring in the altered timeline of Age 796 of future timeline from Dragon Ball Super, Future Gohan feels his student's older self's desire to protect the integrity of the future from the evil Grotesque Zamasu, lends his energy alongside a bewildered teenage Future Trunks. This energy is joined by energy from his main timeline counterpart and Present Piccolo, as well as energy from GT Trunks, GT Goku, and Pan of the GT Timeline, and Xeno Trunks providing his energy from the Time Nest in Age 852. Their energy reaches Future Trunks fight in Age 796 which combines with the energy of the surviving Earthlings which Future Trunks uses to create the Sword of Hope from Across Time and cuts Grotesque Zamasu in two with his Final Hope Slash. Afterwards Elder Kai notes that while the rift brought forth villains, it also brought good power with it to that was desperately needed to defeat Fused Zamasu who had been strengthened by the Supervillain power-up. Elder Kai wonders why everyone across time helped him though Chronoa surmises that they wanted to help Future Trunks fulfill his desire to protect the integrity of the future. Future Gohan also probably responded to how hard Future Trunks was fighting and wanted to do anything he could to help his student regardless of his timeline of origin. It is never specified which timeline this Future Gohan is from as the rift connects countless timelines together though presumably it is either the future timeline's past or maybe even the future timeline from the Unknown History Saga (which if that is the case then Chronoa presumably decided to allow it to remain as an alternate timeline).

Academy Instructor

"The more I look at that guy, the more he seems like my... dad But the way he talks and his hairstyle are different... He's much wilder and cooler than my dad! I wish my dad could be more like that!"
— Pan's opinion of Future Gohan in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

As part of the Masters Pack DLC, Future Gohan appears in Conton City standing near the pond north of the Recreation Plaza. He will offer to train the Future Warrior but must first test them as he considers his training method is harsh similar to his mentor Future Piccolo's. After completing the test, Future Gohan trains the Future Warrior to become stronger than himself and his father. If the Future Warrior manages to achieve maximum friendship with both Future Gohan and Pan, a special event is triggered at Orange Star High School where Future Gohan and Pan meet. At first Pan mistakes him for his main timeline counterpart, but he tells her she is mistaken unaware that she is his daughter from another timeline. He is surprised to learn a young girl like Pan can sense Ki when she mentions that his ki feels similar to her father's and asks if she is a Saiyan. Pan offers to introduce him to her father and grandfather, with Future Gohan saying he would like to meet them, unaware they are his and Future Goku's counterparts. Neither Pan nor Future Gohan realize their familial connection. Humorously Pan considers him to be wilder and cooler than her father, even stating she wishes her father was more like him.

"Oh, yeah? You're being taught by me from an alternative timeline? What's that like? Yeah, my father didn't die of a heart disease in that timeline, huh? There's something comforting about knowing that version of events is out there, actually. A peaceful version."
— Future Gohan learning of the existence of his main timeline counterpart Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

If the warrior talks to him while training under his counterpart and Videl, Future Gohan learns about the main timeline where his father didn't die and the world is peaceful. He admits that he is comforted by the knowledge that such a timeline exists. If they are training under Goku (main timeline), then he will tell them that his father is pure-hearted, all-around good guy who loves everything about combat and that they will definitely get a lot tougher under his instruction and tells then he knows what he's talking about being the son the future timeline's Goku. However Future Gohan does ask them if they realize he is only teaching them to toughen then up enough so they can give him a good fight, showing he is fully aware of Goku's love of fight strong opponents. If they are training under Krillin, Future Gohan is surprised and says that Krillin knows all kinds of interesting moves and if they can learn techniques from him, he is sure it'll open up a whole bunch of different fighting methods for them. If they are training under Piccolo, Future Gohan is surprised yet finds it awesome and says he's a great teacher, firm yet kind, and always looking out for his students and states that they are going to learn a LOT from Piccolo. He also admits that he has such great memories of training under Piccolo's Future counterpart that maybe he should take a refresher course under the main timeline Piccolo. If they are training under Tien, he will state that Tien is an amazing martial artist who knows a whole range of techniques and Future Tien got him out of some really tight spots in the past (which presumably referring to Future Tien's Solar Flare which Future Gohan is known to have used to escape the Androids and taught to Future Trunks as a useful way for escaping the Androids) and states they are guaranteed to become one awesome fighter under his tutelage. If they are training under Yamcha, Future Gohan admits he finds it hard to picture Yamcha as a teacher, but that his movement speed and combo attacks are awesome and that he is sure they can still learn a thing or two from him. If they are training under Vegeta, he is surprised and can't believe that Vegeta agreed to take on a student. He bets Vegeta is super hard on them and just hopes he doesn't go all out against his students, though notes Vegeta will definitely turn them into a first rate warrior, before noting that Vegeta hates to lose. If they are training under Frieza, he is flabbergasted and can't even imagine what that is like before stating Frieza is amazingly powerful and he's got his own army so he does know how to lead people and might even have hidden talents as a teacher though Future Gohan hopes that he isn't plotting something give he knows how evil Frieza can be. Interestingly he makes no comment on them training under the main timeline Android 18, though presumably the Future Warrior elects not to mention it to him give the bad blood between him and the future Androids as well as to prevent any conflict any potential conflict that might result if Future Gohan learns of Future 18's counterpart as Future Gohan is likely unaware she is different from the 18 he knows and may assume the worst about her. If they talk to Goku while training under Future Gohan, Goku at first believes they are training under his main timeline counterpart, until the warrior explains it Gohan from Future Trunks' timeline and notes that his son from the future must have gone through some tough times but since he is in Conton City teaching them, Goku concludes he is still a good guy and that he is proud of him. If they speak to Kid Gohan while training under Future Gohan, he is shocked to learn they are training from his future self and doesn't really understand it before asking if his future self became scholar, before noting that if he had become scholar, why would he be teaching the Time Patrol which only makes him more confused.

"Ah, Goku's son, eh? From a different world than the one in which we killed him, obviously. Man, this one is just a bundle of nerves, isn't he? I can feel it from here. What a difference a world makes. Meh, what happens in other worlds doesn't bother me any."
Android 18 commenting on Future Gohan in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

If they talk to Android 18 while training under Future Gohan, she concludes that since he is still alive and teaching in Conton City he must from a different future timeline than the one where her and her brother's evil counterparts killed him. She notes that she can feel he is a bundle of nerves and notes how different alternate timelines can be, though she herself admits that what happens in other timelines doesn't concern her any. However when Krillin learns they are training under Gohan's future counterpart he is surprised though admits he is curious and would like to meet him. If they talk to Piccolo while training under Future Gohan, he tells the warrior he heard they were training under Gohan before noting that he is aware it is the Gohan from his timeline but Gohan from the alternate future timeline and concludes he must have suffered terribly as Piccolo is aware of its history due to overhearing Future Trunks and Goku talk about it back when Future Trunks altered history, but he is sure that Future Gohan's techniques were created to save the Earth and that the Warrior should use them to protect history, showing he has faith in Future Gohan's abilities given how he was mentor to Future Trunks which Piccolo himself is aware of.

"You're training with a different version of me, from the future? A different me, huh? I wonder what kind of person he is?"
Present Gohan thoughts on his future counterpart in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

If the warrior talks to Present Gohan & Videl, Gohan wonders what his counterpart is like, however Videl says nothing (as presumably she is at a loss for words). If they talk to Mr. Satan while training under Future Gohan, Mr. Satan wonders how it is possible for them to train under him before asking the warrior what is the deal with Gohan and Videl's Future counterparts apparently curious as to the fate of his daughter in the alternate future timeline.

If they speak to Broly while training under Future Gohan, he will note the smell of their "trainer" is similar to his nemesis Kakarot and demands they bring their trainer to him (which occurs when the Future Warrior trains under any of Goku's blood relatives as Broly has apparently committed Goku's scent to memory as an alternate method of tracking him).

After the 1.09.00 Update, Future Gohan gains a custom skillset through Partner Customization and allows him to learn skills such as Dust Attack, Evil Eyes, One-Handed Kamehameha, Special Beam Cannon, and Father-Son Kamehameha. Like his present counterpart, Future Gohan performs the Father-Son Kamehameha with the spiritual assist of his own deceased father, resulting in Future Goku's spirit making a cameo when ever Future Gohan uses the technique.

"When I fight with you, it brings back all kinds of memories. I think of my dad, who died of heart disease... I think of Piccolo, who trained me... And I think of Trunks, and how we both kept training together. That reminds me. There was something I wanted to try. I couldn't do it before, but... I think maybe I could manage it with you. Would you be willing to indulge me for a while?"
— Future Gohan before teaching the skill in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

If the Future Warrior achieves max friendship with him, Future Gohan tells them that training them has brought back all kinds of memories such as his father, Future Piccolo, and Future Trunks. He is then reminded of a technique he wanted to try and asks them to indulge him for just a little while before teaching them his Dual Ultimate Skill, DUAL One-Handed Kamehameha which allows them to perform a team attack with Future Gohan. The DUAL One-Handed Kamehameha is automatically available for his custom skillset. Despite its name and description it is actually a team attack version of One-Handed Kamehameha mk.II as the user's fire additional secondary blasts which is an attribute of the mk.II version.[11]

Infinite History Saga

Main article: Infinite History Saga As part of the Extra Pack 2 DLC, Future Gohan can act as the Future Warrior's partner if he is their current instructor during the new Infinite History Saga in which they must contend with Towa's brother Dabura who was secretly rescued from death at the hands of Innocent Buu by Towa when she invaded the Time Nest before her death in Age ???. Dabura plans to use his artificially created nephew Fu (who is genetically the son of Towa and Mira) to take revenge on the Time Patrol for their role in his sisters death, forcing the Future Warrior and their partner Future Gohan (though only if he is their current instructor) to work together protect history from the vengeful Demon King and his enigmatic nephew.

Power

Manga

Before his death, Future Gohan is arguably the most powerful warrior to have lived on Earth, but is weaker compared to his present timeline counterpart (who was more younger yet more powerful than him, due to his training in the Time Chamber with his father, thus giving him more access to his latent power) when he fought the immensely powerful android Cell (who absorbed the present timeline incarnations of Future Gohan's killers of his future timeline). In the manga when Future Trunks attained his Super Saiyan form, he struggled against Future Gohan's base form. Future Gohan states that he wished he was as strong as his father, like his present counterpart was, but later surpassed his father during and after the Cell Games, but it was not an easy task (Future Gohan never surpassed his father in power, due to his inexperience, and not training with him in the Time Chamber to master the Super Saiyan form, due to his death), and also that Future Trunks would surpass him in a few months. Future Android 17 claims to Future Gohan that when he had previously defeated him he had not even used half of his power.

Anime

In the History of Trunks, Gohan seemed to have gotten stronger via Zenkai as he was able to hold his own against both androids for some time despite having one arm, unlike their last encounter in which he could not hold his own at all with both his arms, even though android 17 was suppressed, but once the Androids team up and use their Accel Dance, he was soundly overwhelmed, while in the present timeline, Super Saiyan 2 Present Gohan easily overpowered and slaughtered every last one of the seven Cell Juniors singlehandedly, each in one blow (as they have nearly the strength of Cell himself), despite using their most powerful attacks and teaming up on him, Gohan just shrugged it off as if nothing happened, unlike Future Gohan, who suffered grievous injuries and pain when being hit by the future Androids' ki attacks, Gohan even managed to defeat Cell with only a right arm-powered Kamehameha, after a long and painstaking Beam Struggle (because he lost the use of his left arm at the time), something a one-armed Future Gohan cannot do against the weaker Androids, although he managed to overpower them with his own right arm-powered Kamehameha in a Beam Struggle against their Non-Stop Violence. Before Future Trunks departs to the past, Future Bulma tells him that he is only about as strong as Future Gohan was at the time of his death. Hypothetically, if he was still alive and, instead of facing the androids everyday, he should have went to the Sacred World of the Kais to train with the Z Sword, breaks it, and had his power awakened by the released Old Kai, then a hypothetical Potential Unleashed Future Gohan would have dominated and taken down the Androids very easily on his own without even transforming into a Super Saiyan (Like his present counterpart did with Super Buu), so he must have the same vast dormant power as Present Gohan had, but never released all of it, due to not training with his father, Shin never visiting the Earth, combined with his death at the androids' grasp before he can even release at least half of his dormant power (his Potential Unleashed state only appeared in the video game Shin Budokai - Another Road).

"So, Gohan... You're just full of hidden potential, aren't you? So much power... Fine fuel to further evolution!"
— Mira commenting on Future Gohan's hidden potential in Xenoverse 2

In Xenoverse 2, after Future Gohan manages to defeat Future Android 16 with the assistance of the Future Warrior, Mira decides to confront him with the intention of draining Future Gohan's hidden power to further his own evolution. During the confrontation, Mira notes that Future Gohan is full of hidden potential.

In the Unknown History Saga, Xeno Trunks interferes with Future Gohan's fateful battle and an emotional Xeno Trunks is almost killed. This causes Future Gohan's hidden power to explode as a result of his rage giving him more than enough power to defeat and destroy the androids, bringing peace to that timeline's Future World. Once Gohan realizes that he has the power to defeat them, he remembers all his friends that had died and focuses on using his newfound power to finally destroy the Androids, in order to save both his future world and Xeno Trunks.

This shows that Future Gohan actually had the power to defeat Android 17 and 18 hidden within himself, but was never able to tap into it in the original future timeline, as his hidden power often only surfaces when enraged, similar to his main timeline counterpart during the Cell Games, however unlike his main timeline counterpart it does not result in him transforming into a Super Saiyan 2, as the situation was not desperate enough to warrant such a transformation, as 17 and 18 were weaker than Perfect Cell.

Techniques and Special Abilities

  • Flight – The ability to fly with the use of ki.
  • Ki Blast – The most basic form of energy wave.

Future Gohan prepares his Down Burst

  • Down Burst – A counterattack used by Future Gohan where he fires an energy sphere to the ground in order to get away from his opponents. it is Future Gohan's signature attack in Raging Blast 2. Appears under the name Senko Ki Blast in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and inflicts blindness on the opponent.
  • Intercept – A counterattack used by Future Gohan where he moves quickly and gets behind the opponent to deliver a kick to his chin.
  • Sonic Rush - A physical rush attack used by Future Gohan and named in Xenoverse 2.
  • Masenko – A yellow wave of ki shot from one hand on top of the other. Future Gohan uses this technique in an anime flashback and as one of his Blast 2 attacks in his base form in the video game Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (he only uses his right hand in the video game for this attack though). In the Dragon Ball Z: Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan, Future Trunks is shown using the Masenko with the present Gohan as Super Saiyans, suggesting that it may have been Future Gohan who taught him the move.
    • Hyper Masenko - A stronger version of the Masenko used by Future Gohan in one of Future Trunks' flashbacks.

Super Saiyan Future Gohan fires his One-Handed Kamehameha mk.II at the Androids

  • Kamehameha – A blue and white energy blast. This attack is seemingly taught to him by his father. Future Gohan uses the Kamehameha in the special when he battles the androids the second time.
    • One-Handed Kamehameha - A one-handed variation of Super Kamehameha used by Future Gohan in Xenoverse 2. After the 1.09.00 Update, it appears as one of his default Ultimate Skills in his custom skillset.[11] He uses it one-handed despite having both arms in Xenoverse 2 due to having a one-handed fighting style to represent the loss of his left arm in the manga/anime.
      • One-Handed Kamehameha mk.II - A one-handed variation of the Super Kamehameha used as Ultimate Blast in his base form in Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and in Dragon Ball Heroes. This variation was named in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 where it appears as one of his Ultimate Skills. After the 1.09.00 Update, it can be added to his custom skillset after purchasing it for 15 TP Medals in Partner Customization. He uses it one-handed despite having both arms in video games due to having a one-handed fighting style reminiscent to the loss of his left arm in the manga/anime. It differs from the One-Handed Kamehameha in that he can use extra ki to fire an additional blast, thus it is a stronger version of the One-Handed Kamehameha.
        • Fierce Combination – Future Gohan's Ultimate Technique in video games. The attacks performed in this rush are taken from his fight with the Androids and his younger counterpart's fight with the Cell Jrs. and Super Perfect Cell in the main timeline. The One-handed Kamehameha mk. II is used as a finishing blast.
        • DUAL One-Handed Kamehameha - A team attack variation of One-Handed Kamehameha mk.II developed by Future Gohan as his DUAL Ultimate Skill in Xenoverse 2.[11]

Future Gohan and Future Goku's Father-Son Kamehameha in Xenoverse 2

        • Father-Son Kamehameha - One of Future Gohan's Ultimate Skills in Xenoverse 2.[12] After the 1.09.00 Update, it can be added to his custom skillset after purchasing it for 15 TP Medals in Partner Customization. Similar to his maintain timeline counterpart, Future Gohan performs this powerful Kamehameha technique one-handed with spiritual assistance from his deceased father.[11]
  • Super Explosive Wave – A wave of energy more powerful than the simple Explosive Wave. Future Gohan's version of the Super Explosive Wave looks very similar to Piccolo's Hyper Explosive Demon Wave. It is used by Future Gohan in his base form in Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and Raging Blast 2.
  • Ki Explosion - An explosive wave technique used by Future Gohan as a Super Skill in Xenoverse 2 which can be added to his custom skillset via Partner Customization.[11]
    • Super Ki Explosion - An Ultimate Skill version of Ki Explosion used by Future Gohan as a Super Skill in Xenoverse 2 which can be added to his custom skillset via Partner Customization.[11]
  • Energy Charge - A ki charging technique and Super Skill used by Future Gohan in Xenoverse 2.[11]
    • Full Power Charge – One of Future Gohan's Blast 1 in Budokai Tenkaichi series. In Xenoverse 2, it appears as a Super Skill that charges ki faster than Energy Charge.
      • Maximum Charge - A ki charging technique and Super Skill that charges ki faster than Full Power Charge. After the 1.09.00 Update, it can be unlocked for his custom skillset by purchasing it for 5 TP in Partner Customization.[11]
  • Wild Sense – One of Future Gohan's Blast 1.
  • Super Afterimage - A enhanced version of the Afterimage Technique that appears as a Super Skill in Xenoverse 2. After the 1.09.00 Update, it can be unlocked for his custom skillset by purchasing it for 5 TP in Partner Customization.[11]
Special beam cannon

Future Gohan using the Special Beam Cannon in Raging Blast 2

  • Special Beam Cannon – A purple and yellow ki wave shot from two fingers. He never used this technique in the anime (much less the manga, where we never even see him attempt a blast), but it is apparent that it may have been taught to him by Piccolo. Future Gohan uses this technique in Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and Raging Blast 2 while in his Super Saiyan form and in Shin Budokai - Another Road in his base form. In Xenoverse 2 after the 1.09.00 Update, it can be added to Future Gohan's custom skillset after purchasing it for 15 TP Medals in Partner Customization.[11]
  • Gekiretsu Madan – One of Future Gohan's Blast 2 attacks in his Super Saiyan form. Called Hyper Masenko in Raging Blast 2.
  • Burning Attack – Used in the PSP game Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai - Another Road. This move is originally used by Future Trunks in the manga/anime.

Future Gohan using Evil Barrier

  • Evil Barrier – A green energy shield, Gohan used this ability against the androids and in Budokai Tenkaichi 3 in his Super Saiyan form. Appears as an Evasive Skill under the name Energy Dome in Xenoverse 2 and is identical to the energy shield used by his main timeline counterpart in Dragon Ball Z: Broly - Second Coming as he can increase its size using ki just as his counterpart does in the film and Xenoverse 2 as he can also use Energy Dome.
  • Power up to the Very Limit – One of Future Gohan's Blast 1 in his Super Saiyan form.
  • Rise to Action - A supportive technique where the user slaps their cheeks to recover stamina which appears as a Super Skill in the Xenoverse series. After the 1.09.00 Update, it can be added to his custom skillset through Partner Customization.[11]
  • Solar Flare - In the Super manga, it is revealed by Future Trunks that Future Gohan knows the Solar Flare, having taught it to him. Gohan may have learned it from either Future Krillin or Future Goku.
  • Evil Eyes - An invisible blast of ki shot from the eyes used by both his father and his mentor Future Piccolo. One of his Super Skills that can be purchased for 5 TP in Partner Customization in Xenoverse 2 after the 1.09.00 Update.[11]
  • Explosive Demon Wave - An energy wave originally used by King Piccolo which Gohan apparently learned from Future Piccolo. In Xenoverse 2 it appears as one of his Super Skills under the name Super Explosive Wave (not to be confused with the Super Explosive Wave Evasive Skill) which allows him to fire his Explosive Demon Wave though due to his one-handed fighting style Future Gohan does not use his other arm to brace himself like Piccolo and King Piccolo do when they utilized this technique.
    • Dust Attack - A one-handed variation of the Explosive Demon Wave originally used by Piccolo/Future Piccolo against Raditz which only managed to kick up dust, which Piccolo takes advantage of in Xenoverse 2 to blind opponents. Presumably learned from Future Piccolo, Future Gohan can use it to kick up dust to blind opponents which fits with his use of other blindness inducing techniques such as Senko Ki Blast and Solar Flare. After the 1.09.00 Update, it can be added to his custom skillset after purchasing it for 5 TP in Partner Customization.[11]
  • Full Power Energy Wave - A common yet powerful quick firing Energy Wave that appears as an Ultimate Skill in Xenoverse 2. After the 1.09.00 Update, it can be added to his custom skillset after purchasing it for 15 TP in Partner Customization.[11]
  • Kiai - Like his present counterpart, Future Gohan can use several kiai-based techniques in Xenoverse 2.[11]
    • Shockwave - A weak kiai that causes the enemy to stagger that appears as a Super Skill in Xenoverse 2. After the 1.09.00 Update, it can be added to his custom skillset after purchasing it for 5 TP in Partner Customization.[11]
    • Spirit Explosion - A powerful yet simple two-handed Kiai technique originally used by his father when fighting Burter and Jeice on Namek which appears as a common Evasive Skill in the Xenoverse series. After the 1.09.00 Update in Xenoverse 2, it can be added to his custom skillset after purchasing it for 5 TP in Partner Customization.[11]
  • Instant Rise - An evasive rapid movement technique used as an common Evasive Skill in the Xenoverse series. After the 1.09.00 Update in Xenoverse 2, it can be added to his custom skillset after purchasing it for 5 TP in Partner Customization.[11]
  • Ki Transfer - In the Warrior of Hope Saga of Xenoverse 2 Future Gohan lends his energy to Future Trunks during his fight with Grotesque Zamasu thru rip in the fabric of space time created previously by Goku Black. This energy joins other energy from others across time becoming part of the Spirit Bomb that becomes Future Trunks' Sword of Hope from Across Time.

Transformations

Future Gohan as Super Saiyan

The ability to transform into a more powerful being, Future Gohan takes this form every time he fights the androids. It is not exactly clear at what age and how he became a Super Saiyan in the alternate timeline, but it is implied that he became able to use Super Saiyan after seeing his friends killed by the androids, as suggested by his fierce hatred towards them. He also attempted to teach the ability to Future Trunks and succeeded in the manga.

In Xenoverse 2, it appears as an Awoken Skill transformation under the name Future Super Saiyan which can be utilized by Future Gohan, Future Trunks/Xeno Trunks, and the Saiyan Future Warrior (after completing Future Gohan's story in the Unknown History Saga). Future Super Saiyan transformation recovers ki much faster than any of the other type of Super Saiyan, which is presumably a result of users training their Super Saiyan form to recover ki more faster in order to better combat Androids with limitless energy. When Future Super Saiyan is used the same transformation stance Future Gohan took when he transforms during his final battle with the Androids in the TV special.

Trivia

  • Future Gohan is the first adult version of the character seen in both the manga and anime.
  • After an encounter with the androids, Future Gohan received scars that looked similar to Yamcha's. His haircut even vaguely resembled the one Yamcha was seen with in his appearance during the Majin Buu arc.
  • Future Gohan has a monstrous appetite similar to Goku's and devours his meals very quickly. Future Bulma even says when Future Gohan has finished eating, "Yep, like father like son." Humorously, his present counterpart is shown swallowing food the same way during the Majin Buu arc in the World Tournament saga and in the DBZ film Fusion Reborn.
  • In the original Japanese version of the series and special, Future Gohan's voice sounded closer to his father's when serious, possibly to reflect his serious demeanor and hatred against the Androids while adult Present Gohan's sounded with a slight higher pitch when not fighting, in an awkward-like manner, more prominently during his days as a scholar, but when at Super Saiyan 2 and Potential Unleashed he speaks, his voice becomes deeper, sounding like Goku's when fighting seriously or when angry, because of his hatred of Cell and the nature of his Potential Unleashed state. His awkward-like voice might be reflected from his pacifist and gentle nature and personality, as opposed to Future Gohan's more serious and particularly hotheaded demeanor.
  • Future Gohan notably switched from the respectful "boku", (which his present counterpart usually says) to "ore" when referring to himself in the Japanese version, this might be due to the loss of his pacifist nature combined with his fierce hatred against the androids, but Super Saiyan 2 and later, Potential Unleashed Gohan, despite his serious demeanor, and despite his fierce hatred against Cell and later, Super Buu, he still refers to himself as "boku", this might be due to retaining his pacifist and respectful style of speech during those battles, although, he said the course masculine "kisama" to refer to both villains in anger and hostility, wheareas Future Gohan only said the masculine "umai" to the androids.
  • The manga implies that Future Gohan would not have stood a chance against the Androids, even with both arms, as Future Android 17 stated he only used less than half his full power previously.
  • Coincidentally, both Future and Present Gohan had lost the use of their left arm during a battle against an Android (Future 17 and Future 18 for Future Gohan and Cell for Present Gohan), while Future Gohan had lost his arm completely, Present Gohan's wasn't, it was badly injured after taking a powerful blast from the evil Bio-Android, but soon recovered after Cell's defeat, and would continue to fight with both of his arms.
    • Again, coincidentally, both Gohans used a right arm Kamehameha and overpowered the respective aforementioned Androids they were fighting, although Present Gohan's lasted much longer and more painstakingly and it took a decent struggle and his father's spirit's assistance with some distraction from the Z Fighters, and Vegeta, to unleash his full power and decimate Super Perfect Cell once and for all.
    • Also, while the right-handed Super Saiyan Future Gohan failed to defeat the weaker Androids, the right-handed Super Saiyan 2 Gohan managed to kill the overwhelmingly powerful and evil Super Perfect Bio-Android, which effectively, and technically, eliminating the Android threat of his timeline, indeed, the present timeline incarnation of Trunks' mentor was the one who saved his timeline's future and finally surpassed his father in power.
    • It was Future Gohan's pupil Future Trunks that finally ended the Android threat in his timeline that brought peace to his future, thus finally fulfilling his wish of someone even stronger than him rising in his place to defeat the Androids, in which Trunks eventually succeeded while Gohan had failed.
    • In Xenoverse 2, both Future Gohan and Teen Gohan perform the Father-Son Kamehameha with one hand.
  • Many video games, such as Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and Xenoverse 2, depict Future Gohan's left arm broken and only using his right arm to fight. This is a reference to the loss of his left arm when fighting the androids. However, in Shin Budokai - Another Road, he fights with both arms, possibly because he was fully revived, or it is because of the game's mechanics.
  • Even though in the Unknown History Saga's story said that Future Gohan defeated the Androids with Xeno Trunks in his Super Saiyan form after is power had been released, the player can choose between his base and Future Super Saiyan form to fight the androids in-game, depending on their choice, players might make Gohan fight the androids with just his base form, instead of going Super Saiyan and eventually defeat them simply in his base form.
  • The Future Gohan that appeared on Conton City might be from after he defeated the androids in the Unknown History Saga, as he, with little help from the Future Warrior as his student, was able to quickly defeat the future androids of another alternate timeline (presumably created by Chronoa for his student to train or she brought in the Future Androids from a time fragment timeline) using only his base form, this implies that this Future Gohan continued to train after many years of peace before being brought to Conton City, that he was vastly stronger than the original one killed by the androids of that unaltered timeline, unlocking more of his potential, as he can defeat the androids over and over again if the Warrior, as his student, chooses to fight with him one more time (however again this may be simply due to game mechanics as CPUs never use Awoken Skills to transform unless they are programmed to and the fact Future Gohan has backup from the more powerful Future Warrior and that the Future Androids may have been created for training purposes and are not actually the real ones from another timeline).
  • Despite being easily overpowered by the two androids in the TV special, in Xenoverse 2, an experienced player can defeat both androids as Future Gohan (base or Super Saiyan) alone, without the help of anyone, this may be due to the player using tactics and certain techniques (i.e. using the Energy Dome a couple of times during battle, as he only used it once in the special), to defeat them, and because of this game's mechanics.
    • However it should be noted that this can apply to any fighting game featuring both Future Gohan and the Android 17 & 18.
  • In Xenoverse 2, if the Future Warrior talks to Future Gohan while wearing Future Trunks's attire, he will state that seeing that outfit gives him a good feeling.
  • In Xenoverse 2, he also has special dialogue with several characters such as his main timeline counterpart (Adult/Great Saiyaman), Goten, Trunks (Kid/GT), Future Trunks (DBZ/Xeno), Videl (Base/Great Saiyaman 2), , Goku (Base/GT), Bardock (Base/Xeno), Piccolo, Krillin, Vegeta (Base), Android 16, Android 17 (representing Future 17), and Android 18 (representing Future 18).
    • When confronting Adult Gohan, he says "Your me but from a different future." while Adult Gohan says "Huh? So your..." indicating that Adult Gohan may realize that Future Gohan is from Trunks' timeline.
    • When confronting Great Saiyaman, "The me from this era seems to be having a blast." while Great Saiyaman says "World Peace is mine to protect, for I am the Great Saiyaman!" indicating that Future Gohan has no problem with his counterpart's super hero alter-ego.
