"See, you had me all wrong! I'm not into fighting like the rest of you all. I was just playing around with all this energy and stuff and observing you guys, you know, for science! (And whatever.) Personally, I really don't care how history changes, as long as I get some energy out of it when it's all said and done. But hopeless, depressing timelines are a little dismal, don'tcha think? And boy, you guys sure saw a lot of them, huh? I think they should be changed for the better, though. Don't you? People should be happy! They deserve to be."
— Fu in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Fu (フュー Fyū) is the artificial son of the demon Towa and her other creation Mira. Initially appearing as a child in Dragon Ball Online, he fully debuts in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and subsequently appears in Super Dragon Ball Heroes. Considered by Dabura to be his rightful successor as the King of Demon Realm, he later becomes a new Dark King with Towa's help.

Though presented as somewhat of a protagonist in Xenoverse 2, in the Heroes mangas and anime, Fu is the overarching antagonist of the Prison Planet, Universe Creation and New Space-Time War Sagas.

Concept and creation[]

Fu was originally created for Dragon Ball Online and was first shown in a guidebook for the game. However, the game was shut down before Fu made his debut in it.

Fu's new appearance for Big Bang Mission was due to Higuchi requesting that he be made more serious.[4]

Appearance[]

Fu(DBO)

Art of Fu as a baby from Dragon Ball Online

Fu is a purple-skinned male with red eyes and white hair. Like members of his race, he possesses pointed ears. As a baby, Fu wears what appears to be a dark purple diaper and a white baby handkerchief. While still a baby, he wears a yellow cap with horns and the symbol of the Time Breakers embedded in it.

During his teenage years, Fu's hair had lengthened, curving outward at the bottom. Two of his larger bangs poke out in front, while a smaller bang curves straight upward. He appears wearing a dark yellowish-green jacket, black pants and yellow boots.

As a young man, he is fairly tall and well-muscled in build. Fu wears long-sleeved shoes, mustard yellow pants and a leathered, black-gray shirt with an "I X" between columns on both of its sleeves, mirroring each other reversely, while wearing a black buckle belt on top of his shirt around the waist area. He also dons black-gray fingerless gloves, with yellow wristbands. Fu also starts wearing glasses, which take on a circular shape on the lens and frames and has hair around the sides of his head buzzed short and the top of his hair as secured as a high ponytail.

During the Universe Creation Saga, Fu now has a slicked back hairstyle, instead of a ponytail, where his hair has a long skinny bang that sticks out above the right side of his face. He wears a variation of his previous attire, where he wears a black blazer over his shirt, that carries a yellow handkerchief on its left chest pocket. In addition to this, he dons a longer and baggier version of his yellow pants, which extends to cover the top part of his yellow boots, and now shows a black stripe on each side of them. He now wears a different pair of glasses from the ones he wore previously, where the lens and frames of his glasses take on a rectangular shape and lastly wears his black-gray fingerless gloves, where they lack the yellow wristbands he wore below them previously.

Personality[]

According to Dragon Ball Online, as a baby, Fu is unable to express himself or act on his own, as Mira exerts a substantial influence on him.

Fu Big Bang

Fu in the Universe Creation Saga

As a young adult, Fu is a bespectacled youth with a fearless smile. While mistakenly believed to be evil and an underling of his uncle, he prefers warping timelines to help others instead of causing meaningless destruction through his alterations and is not interested in revenge or reviving the Demon Realm. Fu does not like to fight but instead loves science and the possibilities his changes in history can create, taking after his mother Towa but in a more positive sense. Fu's interest in science goes so far to experimenting on scenarios, the mechanics of fighting, and using time rifts and paradoxes for his own benefit such as creating time paradoxes on purpose in order absorb more power. However, once gaining some benefit from his experiments, Fu tends to try to use these benefits to better the world, making him neither truly good nor evil. As a result, he can best be described as akin to a well-meaning yet mad scientist of sorts who illegally alters history.

During the Legendary Pack 2 DLC, Fu is shown to be a little too over confident as he underestimates how powerful Full Power Super Saiyan Broly which causes the odds to favor Broly due to Gogeta being forced to utilize his base form due to his transformations being sealed by Fu with only the Future Warrior to rely on as backup. This forces Fu to aid Broly's opposition to level the playing field, this he summons Caulifla and Kale to join the fight, though even with the aid of Universe 6's Legendary Saiyan, it still isn't enough and the two are forced to resort to using the Potara to fuse into Kefla. However, Gogeta's fusion ends up timing out and Broly manages to knock out Goku, Vegeta, and Kefla with a single Gigantic Roar. Impressed by Broly's power, Fu decides he must obtain a blood sample, though Broly attacks him due to his inability to tell friend from foe and though Fu maintains consciousness after getting hit by Gigantic Roar, he is forced to summon Jiren to assist the Future Warrior in the fight with Broly. While the clash between Jiren (Full Power) and Broly (Full Power Super Saiyan) causes them to temporarily be transported the Dimension of Strange Swirling Lights, Fu uses the opportunity to absorb the energy from the history changes before making a hasty retreat. During Extra Mission 06: "Alternate History Antics", Fu decides to try altering the official history of Age 737, aiding Bardock in his own attempts to change the future during the Genocide of the Saiyans. Fu sees no problem with changing this particular era of history given Frieza's evil nature. Though Fu himself has no problem altering history, he is quick to hypocritically criticize Time Patrol Trunks when he at Chronoa's behest is sent in preventing Bardock from killing Frieza after Fu helps him avoid Frieza's Supernova using a Wormhole. However Future Trunks explains that the Supreme Kai of Time made the rule about interfering with one's own history to prevent other Time Patrollers from making his mistakes. However Future Trunks confirms he is a different person now and reaffirms his duty as a Time Patroller is to defend all of history. Ultimately, Bardock chooses to accept his fate after seeing a vision of Future Trunks fighting Mecha Frieza and preventing another vision Frieza killing both himself and Future Trunks with a Death Beam from becoming reality, a noble and selfless act which even causes Fu to briefly mourn his death. Fu also shows a strong dislike for Frieza's cold-hearted ruthlessness. Also, during the Hero of Justice 2 DLC, Fu becomes increasingly worried upon seeing both Android 16 and Gamma 2 prepare to sacrifice themselves during the battle with Cell Max, with the scientist even displaying noticeable horror upon either's selfless sacrifice.

Conversely, in Dragon Ball Heroes, Fu conducts experiments based more on his own interests and with a distinct lack of regard for others who might be affected by them, engaging in questionable actions such as altering history illegally in direct defiance of Chronoa's authority and the Time Patrol's opposition, imprisoning various fighters from across time on the Prison Planet, and releasing the dangerous Core Area Warriors simply to make things interesting, and turning Cooler into his puppet by converting him into a Meta-Cooler. Additionally, his research also tends to meddle with the lives of innocent people of the timeline he creates or alters simply to satisfy his intellectual curiosity, taken to massive extremes when he ends up putting the multiverse in jeopardy for the sake of creating a new universe. He also tends to be infuriated when other individuals interfere with his experiments, such as when Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta destroyed his lab, or when Beerus wished for the destruction of the Universe Tree. This carelessness reached a point where, upon harnessing the powers of the God Birds and the Universe Tree, he was "just curious" enough to see what would happen if he reset entirety of the universe's time to zero - a true "Big Bang Mission".

Despite his more villainous personality in Heroes, at his core, Fu still possessed his Xenoverse 2 self's love and excitement for discovery (ex. remarking that Saiyans were truly incredible when Xeno Gogeta managed to shatter time).

He himself is an artificial being, a unique mutant made from the cells of Mira, Towa, Mechikabura (probably), Goku, Vegeta, Xeno Goku, Xeno Vegeta, Frieza, Cell, Majin Buu, Turles, Bojack, Cooler, Super 17, Syn Shenron, the Saiyans, as well as all of the other strongest fighters; he was created as the ultimate existence so as to destroy the Time Patrol and revive the Demon Realm.[3][2] His body hides a lot of mysteries, and he was greatly affected by Mira after meeting him. He possesses great power and inherited a brilliant scientific mind from Towa. Supplemental material for Dragon Ball Online states that he will have a big influence on the world when he grows up.[5]

The teenage Fu

Upon the defeat of Mechikabura, as the Demon Realm crumbles, Towa creates Fu.[2] Towa - accompanied by Mira - then flees to the edge of a cliff, sending a baby Fu away safely through a rift in space. As he is sucked away by the rift, he bursts into tears, and passes through the rift, left to grow up on his own. At some point, he figures out how to use the strongest sealing spell in history and uses it to gather planets to form the Prison Planet, capturing and recruiting various warriors (including Hearts and his Core Area Warriors) for a massive experiment. Among the warriors captured is Future Trunks, who he imprisons in the Slum Area of his planetary amalgamation.

Fu appears on Beerus' Planet to tell everyone that Future Trunks has been kidnapped

In order to gather more data for his experiment, Fu decides to bring Goku and Vegeta in, using his capture of Future Trunks as unknown leverage. He appears unexpectedly on Beerus' Planet, telling those present that he is Trunks' friend. He explains that Trunks has been captured and is currently located on the Prison Planet where resides the most dangerous criminals in the Universe. After urging them to follow after him so they can save Trunks, Fu teleports away.

Shortly after when Xeno Goku appears, he attacks Goku thinking him to be in league with Fu. Seeing the two Goku fight, Fu comments on what interesting specimens they are and when Xeno Goku fires a ki blast at him, he effortlessly smacks it aside. When Vegeta asks why he seems to know so much about the planet, Fu tells them all that it is because he is the one who created it.

Fu on the Prison Planet

Fu goes on to explain that he has gathered strong fighters from different planets and timelines and has brought them here to fight each other and notes that Xeno Goku must have allowed himself to get captured so that he could investigate. He also says that Trunks has done the unforgivable by using the Time Machine so has brought him there as punishment and also as a means to draw in Goku and Vegeta as well. Finally, he tells them that in order to escape they will need to gather the seven Special Dragon Balls which are held by different prisoners on the planet before he teleports away.

Having returned to his laboratory, he watches as the events unfold. Through a speaker, he warns Goku and Vegeta that they should not let their guard down as Cumber arrives to confront them, saying that his evil Ki snaps the mind of whoever it touches.

"I'll rein you in."

Fu transforms in order to take down Great Ape Cumber

Fu continues to spectate on the battle, though he becomes angered when he notices giant cracks in the Prison Planet's barrier. He interrupts Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken Goku's battle with Golden Great Ape Cumber to reprimand Cumber, activating his Super Fu state with a single slash of dark ki. Raising a purple blade of energy into the air, he absorbs the Power Ball Cumber used to transform. With another slash, Super Fu cuts Cumber's Great Ape transformation short, effortlessly dodging his attacks and leaving Goku and the gang shocked at his power. Fu then drops out of his own transformation, letting the battle continue as he avoids a blast from Golden Cooler by teleporting back to his laboratory.

Angry Super Fu

Super Fu angry at Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta

Upon returning back to his lab, he finds that it has been destroyed by an unknown assailant, putting Fu into a rage. He heads back to the battlefield to find that the seal surrounding the Prison Planet has been destroyed. Fu spots Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta and realizes that they are the ones responsible for having destroyed his lab. Fu acknowledges that his plans have been ruined and he will now punish those responsible, transforming into Super Fu in the process. Xeno Goku and Xeno Vegeta tell him that it is their mission to capture him, and they all engage in battle.

Fu appears to gain an advantage over the two Saiyans but the battle is cut short when Cumber shows up again and unleashes a barrage of Ki Blasts. The attack causes a crack to forge in one of the planets above. Noticing this, Fu claims that his objective has been achieved and that "they" will soon appear and make events much more fun. Using his abilities, Fu opens up a portal which he escapes through. Though chased by Cooler, he manages to capture the tyrant and use the Big Gete Star to convert him into a loyal Meta-Cooler once more.

Fu watches the battles from his laboratory

On another planet, Fu appears in a laboratory, observing on monitor the battle between Vegeta and Kamioren expressing how much fun he is having and how exciting his experiment has become. Glancing at another monitor with the modified Meta-Cooler on the screen, he comments that it will soon be his time to make a grand entrance.

Sometime later, he watches the battles unfold between the Dragon Team and Core Area Warriors in Universe 7, noting that it is the perfect place for Hearts to gather energy toward the Universe Seed. His attention is then brought to Lagss' defeat at the hands of Cooler in Universe 3, followed by his battle against Cumber. When Cooler appears to malfunction during the fight and retreats, Fu notes that he overheated but had nevertheless gained useful data anyway. In the manga, he deems the unconscious Cumber retired from his plans.

Later after Hearts has been defeated, at a remote location, Fu thanks Hearts for showing him great results of universal formation. With a smirk on his face, Fu decides it’s time for his next experiment.

Big Bang Mission Ep 1 15

Fu watches events unfold

Still aiming for the creation of a new universe through his "Big Bang Mission",[6] Fu obtains the remains of the Universe Seed following Perfect Hearts' defeat and uses it to grow the Universe Tree, planning to use it in combination with Mechikabura's Dogidogi - which holds enough power to create a new universe.[7]

Fu is first seen in a new laboratory, observing Goku's fight with Beerus from afar. As Dogidogi flies to his shoulder, he knowingly contemplates if Beerus was looking for Dogidogi (as opposed to Tokitoki, who Beerus mistakes Dogidogi for).

Big Bang Mission Ep 2 07

Fu explaining his plans

Fu arrives on Earth along with the bird Dogidogi, with Beerus asking if that is the actual "bird of catastrophe" to which Fu confirms that he is. Fu explains his plans to Goku, Beerus and the others and his intention of creating a new universe using the Universe Tree by attaching the energy of all other universes into the tree before disappearing once again through one of his rifts.

At the base of the Universe Tree, Fu - with Towa alongside him - greets Bojack, Turles, Super 17, Meta-Cooler and Dr. W and asks if they want to fulfill their dreams in his new upcoming Universe that he is attempting to create. Bojack however is distracted upon seeing the Saiyan Turles and the two begin fighting. Fu intervenes and stops the two, telling them that their target is Goku and his allies who will attempt to stop them and he has given them the chance to exact their revenge.

Shortly after while both Bojack and Turles are fighting Goku and Vegeta on Earth, Fu appears and voices how glad he is that he powered up his two allies. As they continue fighting, Fu has Dogidogi use his ability to freeze Goku and his allies in place before taking the opportunity to capture Tokitoki and then back a swift exit.

At some point, Fu decides to repurpose Cumber's Evil Aura and drains it via a tank for his own use.

SDBH 27 03

Fu blocks Vegeta's punch

After Goku and his comrades arrive at the Universe Tree, Fu appears and welcomes everyone to the Time Rift. He suggests that they wait to see the birth of a new Universe but suddenly, Xeno Goku, Xeno Vegeta, Xeno Trunks and Xeno Pan are forcibly teleported away by Towa. After she claims that all of this is for Fu, which confuses him, she leaves along with Salsa and Putine, leaving only Goku, Vegeta and Fu behind.

Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta charges at Fu though he easily halts his momentum and unleashes Cumber's Evil Aura upon Vegeta, which the prince recognizes. Fu says that he is interested in Cumbers power, revealing his containment tank. Goku tries to aid Vegeta but is too late as Vegeta unleashes a Berserk form of Super Saiyan Blue. Fu repeats the process with Goku, but the two Saiyans wildly attack the scientist instead of each other, forcing Fu to easily fend them off and disperse the Evil Aura while noting how quickly it took for them to drop out of the form.

Fu turns and looks at the tree, saying that it will soon happen and they should watch as one Universe is destroyed and another birthed at the same time. With time running out, Goku and Vegeta fuse into Vegito. Fu fires a blast of Cumber's evil ki at him, but it fails to take Vegito over due to creating a ki barrier around himself while in Blue form. Vegito then prepares to face Fu.

SDBH Episode 28 06

Fu transforms to face Vegito

Fu quickly finds himself outmatched against Vegito. Though he voices his lack of enjoyment for fighting he nevertheless continues after being spurred on by Vegito and taps once more into his Super Fu state. Fu proves to be able to hold his own better than before but is still no match for his opponent and is hit by a powerful Kamehameha. He acknowledges Vegito's strength increase since his time on the Prison Planet and is then elated to see that the Universe Tree is finally ready to birth a new universe. However, his joy quickly morphs into furious anguish when the tree suddenly begins to rot, due to Beerus having used the Super Dragon Balls to have Super Shenron destroy it.

Dark King Fu (Episode)

Fu as the Dark King

Towa and Mira show up, with the former giving her son the dark energy that she had extracted from the Time Patrol in order to grant him the position of the new Dark King. During the process, Fu's memories are returned to him and he quickly remembers that Towa is his mother. However he quickly dismisses her and begins to imbue the rotten Universe Tree with his power in order to restore it. Vegito tries to stop him and the two battle, now on more equal terms than before. However, the unexpected arrival of Xeno Vegito (along with Demigra and Robelu) puts a halt to the battle, with the Time Patrol fusion using Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker to land a hard punch to Fu's face. The two continue for a short period until a temporary halt in the action where Fu creates a lavish interior.

SDBH 32 01

Fu holding his new universe

Shortly afterwards, Broly appears and begins fighting both Xeno Vegito and Vegito by himself, giving Fu the opportunity and time needed to return to the Universe Tree and restore it. Despite Broly indirectly buying him time, however, Fu's new universe (having engulfed Vegito and Broly) is incomplete, and before being charged by Xeno Vegito, he sends it into the air to be completed in the meantime. He and Xeno Vegito are then frozen mid-fight by Demigra's Time Labyrinth technique.

Kid Fu

A youthful Fu

When the Warrior in Black uses the Dragon Balls to wish for everyone to escape from the Pseudo Universe, Goku arrives back at the Universe Tree, where he encounters Fu, who after absorbing Dogidogi was able to escape from the Time Labyrinth and reverted to a kid, possessing a right Dogidogi wing and red Dark King marks across his face. When the other Saiyans arrive, they are left with no choice but to fuse into Gogeta and Xeno Gogeta to take him on.

The two fusions fire a barrage of energy blasts at the chaotic scientist, but Fu powers up further, sprouting a second wing and bragging that his power surpasses that of the gods. Fu defuses the two with a blast of darkness and then throws the Vegeta's into a dark vortex to prevent any more fusions from happening.

However Chronoa appears and fuses Goku and Xeno Goku's Ki together, They attack with a combined Kamehameha, which breaks through all of Fu's barriers, forcing him to block. Despite Fu stating the attack was dangerous, Xeno Goku notes that, even with this immense power, he and his alternate self are still unable to beat the Dark King. Seeking to know how the Pseudo Universe he helped create came to be, Fu states he plans to rebuild Universe 7 for the gods and wonders what it will grow and end up like.

Fu absorbs energy from the Universe Tree

Fu begins absorbing power from the Universe Tree, and to an extent, all of the universe itself and with a flap of a wing, Fu sends a tendril at Chronoa, with Xeno Goku quickly intercepting by taking the blow himself. Promising Chronoa he won't miss a second time, Fu attacks again, only for this time for Goku to grab the tendril and rip it off. The energy at first begins to overwhelm him, but Goku manages to harness it for his own by also harnessing the Universe Tree's power to gain Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (Universe Tree Power).

Upon realizing that Goku has also managed to control the Universe Tree's power, Fu says that he has had enough, and that both Goku and the universe shall be completely destroyed. The two engage in an epic battle, climaxing with a powerful beam struggle that ends with Goku managing to finish off Fu with a Kamehameha. Fu finds it impossible that the universe has so much potential, and with those seemingly being his last words, he is defeated with a smile on his face.

Fu (4)

Fu observing one of his experiments at Time Nest

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Fu is assisted by his uncle Dabura through being fed energy from time rifts. The first time rift is one during the period where Goku and Vegeta were training together in the space Whis created to obtain Super Saiyan Blue, with Fu acting as Whis. Once Goku powers up his Super Saiyan form enough that he will be able to evolve it into Super Saiyan Blue, Fu quickly bathes him in Blutz Waves, altering history by instead turning him into a Super Saiyan 4. After the Future Warrior defeats Goku, Fu absorbs the Time Rift's energy, causing the rift to disappear. He then returns to the Time Nest with the Future Warrior and their master. He asks for some of the Future Warrior's blood but is turned down and leaves when Chronoa shows up.

Fu heads to another Time Rift, where Future Androids 17 and 18 have shown up at the Cell Games Arena several days before the tournament to fight Cell. Fu brings in Android 13 to change history even more. Afterwards, Fu leaves to go to the next Time Rift.

In this Time Rift, it appears that Dabura survived to participate in the battle between Super Vegito and Super Buu. Fu brings Videl back to life, powers her up and sends her to fight Buu, then leaves again.

Fu goes to the last Time Rift, where a brainwashed Jiren has been sent by Dabura to aid Goku Black and Zamasu against Trunks. Fu in turn sends in a powered up Tapion as an ally for Trunks. The Future Warrior and their master take down Tapion and Jiren.

When Dabura is defeated in the Time Rift, Fu arrives late to witness his badly beaten uncle, who reveals Fu's origins to the Future Warrior and commands Fu to assist him. However, he betrays Dabura's wishes of getting revenge for Towa, stating he has no interest in such a thing. He then turns an angry Dabura into stone after deflecting a Stone Spit attack back at him with his sword, explaining that he doesn't share his relatives' love of time distortion for evil purposes, and would rather fix up bad incidents in time instead.

Ending 1

In the first ending, Fu then requests the Future Warrior to help him make one last big historical alteration, something that the Elder Kai firmly disagrees with. Disappointed but excited for a fight, Fu engages in a fairly friendly battle with the Future Warrior and the Warrior's partner, although it is revealed at the end of the fight that Fu had created an illusion that had been fighting in his place the entire time. He then promises to tell the Future Warrior if he finds any good uses for the massive amount of rift energy he gathered, teleporting out of the Time Rift.

Ending 2

In the second ending, Fu has collected a huge amount of rift energy and is about to go home and decide what to do with it, but an angry Elder Kai decides to send Goku (If Goku isn't the Future Warriors master at the time) to capture Fu. Scared of fighting Goku, the Future Warrior fights in Fu’s place, the two fight on par until Goku turns Super Saiyan Blue and halfway through the fight a bored Fu teleports away saying he’ll analyze the Future Warrior later.

Ending 3

In the third and final ending, Fu is happy he has collected an enormous amount of rift energy and is about to teleport home and figure out what to do when an angry Elder Kai scolds the Future Warrior for letting him get away. (If Goku is the Future Warriors master at the time) Elder Kai tempts him into fighting Fu, saying he’ll be really strong. The Future Warrior fights Goku instead, when both are exhausted in their base states. Respecting the Future Warriors power being able to compete with Goku, Fu gives some of his rift energy to the Future Warrior who then defeats Super Saiyan Blue Goku halfway through the fight who breaks his limit and transforms into Ultra Instinct. They then fight to complete exhaustion, Fu being amazed the Future Warrior got this powerful through just a bit of his rift energy and then vowing to analyse the Future Warrior, Fu then teleports away much to Elder Kai's anger.

Conton City Experiments

Similar to his ability to infiltrate the Time Nest, Fu has no problem entering Conton City in order to find Time Patrollers willing to assist him in his Crystal Raid experiments to test the Demon Realm Crystals he developed to induce Supervillainization. Among the Time Patrollers he finds are the Cooshin (Make Saiyan), Gagigori (Frieza Race), Gyunana (Namekian), and Pocco (Female Majin). Gagigori wants to expose Fu in the hopes of being rewarded with a lot of Zeni, while Gyanana is is convinced Fu is up to something. Cooshin notes he got roped into Fu's experiments, but insists they all give it 110%. Pocco noted things have been going rather slow, so she joined his experiments for a little change of pace, though asks the Future Warrior not to tell Chronoa what she's up to.

In addition to the Time Patrollers attracted by the Time Rift Fu is using for these experiments, he also tells the Future Warrior about Crystal Raid Missions and has a CC Robot that provides a Crystal Raid Tutorial for Time Patrollers. To take part in a Crystal Raid, the Future Warrior must collect Demon Realm Crystals which are obtained as random drops in Expert Missions.

Additionally, the Future Warrior can purchase three gifts for Fu, Gift (Demigra), Gift (Fused Zamasu), & Gift (Mira). Giving him these gifts (which contain samples of DNA) once will result in the corresponding character (Demon God Demigra, Final Form Mira, & Half-Corrupted Fused Zamasu) being unlocked by Fu for use in Crystal Raid Missions and Training Mode. If a gift is given after unlocking that specific character, Fu will give the Future Warrior 10 Demon Realm Crystals for every subsequent gift he receives, making these Gifts a much easier way to acquire Demon Realm Crystals. The Future Warrior can also use Fu's Demon Realm Crystals as a Mixing Item at the Mix Shop to create a rare item that can be used to make stronger QQ Bangs. During the Crystal Raids, one of the participating Time Patrollers is granted the Supervillain Power state where they effectively act as a Raid Boss that fights against a team of Time Patrollers. If the Future Warrior is selected, they will attain Supervillain Power state and gain the ability to utilize special Crystal Raid skills such as Bloody Sauce (Super Skill), Brainwash Attack (Super Skill), Gigantic Ki Blast (Ultimate Skill), Marbling Drop (Super Skill), Peeler Storm (Evasive Skill), and Rage Saucer (Super Skill) which are only usable in Crystal Raid Battles and Training Mode (if any of these skills are equipped during Training Mode the Future Warrior will automatically transform into the Supervillain Power state granting them the opportunity to practice with said skills). However no transformations can be used while Supervillain Power state is activated.

As part of the 1.15.00 Update DLC, it is revealed that Fu had been tinkering with the Partner Customization CC Robots, adding an unauthorized modification that allows the Future Warrior to unlock more characters in Partner Customization through the use of Fu's Customization Unlock Keys which can be obtained as random rewards for completing Raid Quests (which means either surviving until the time runs out or defeating the Raid Boss). The 1.15.00 Update adds Customization Unlock Keys 1-10. Fu also programs the CC Robots with a message for the Future Warrior that informs them (and the CC Robot as they were not consciously aware of it until they give the message) of the modifications. Once a Customization Unlock Key is obtained, it will unlock the corresponding character based upon its number, allowing said character customized in Partner Customization. Fu also notes in the message that he may produce more keys in the future if he feels like it. After the 1.17.00 Update, Fu adds Customization Unlock Keys 11-15 which can also be obtained as random rewards in Raid Quests.

Extra Mission 01: "Fu & Future God of Destruction "

As part of the Legendary Pack 1 DLC, the Future Warrior is summoned by Chronoa via the CC Robot Brashy to deal with another history change caused by Fu creating another time rift to gather energy.

While Chronoa and Elder Kai are explain the situation, the Future Warrior notices Fu wondering around the Time Vault with Elder Kai and Chronoa being unaware of his presence due to him concealing himself to them, causing the Future Warrior to appear as if they are spacing out to Chronoa and Elder Kai, due to their inability to detect Fu's presence. Elder Kai notes that since it is a time rift they don't have to worry about the change effecting the official history, though Chronoa points out that any alterations they create will provide Fu with more energy, fearing the possibility he may utilize it for some nefarious purpose as Fu is too shady for them to trust especially given his familial background.

After explaining that Future Trunks was on another mission and that they will send him in as soon as his current mission is completed. Fu convertly listens to Chronoa's thoughts about him and gives a shrug in response to her accusation that he might misuse the energy he collects from his time rift experiments, before bidding farewell to the Future Warrior and leaving the Time Vault via a concealed Wormhole.

Remaining silent about Fu's presence so as not to alarm Elder Kai or Chronoa (wisely to avoid sparking conflict within the Time Vault) and after their debriefing, they travel into the new Time Rift after Fu. Thanks to his headstart, Fu arrives inside of the Null Realm during the Tournament of Power, interrupting Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (Evolved) Vegeta's Final Explosion attack on Top (God of Destruction). Inspired by his recent experiments in Conton City, Fu pulls out a Demon Realm Crystal which he uses on Top granting him Supervillainization on top of his Destroyer Form, making him strong enough to temporarily knock out Vegeta. Fortunately, Super Saiyan Blue Goku and the Future Warrior arrive to prevent Vegeta from being eliminated.

Meanwhile, Chronoa and Elder Kai are forced to lie to the Omni-Kings that the Future Warrior was summoned through an ability of Goku's to avoid Team Universe 7 and their universe from being Erased due to the Future Warrior's presence. Fortunately, the Omni-Kings buy it and allow the Future Warrior to assist Goku and his team.

Fu notes he has two remaining Demon Realm Crystals and decides to you his second one on Vegeta. Despite Vegeta's best efforts to resist the Supervillainization, he is eventually overcome and begins behaving in a manner similar to Prince of Destruction Vegeta's albeit brainwashed to the point that he rejects even the notion of pride. Fortunately, Future Trunks arrives to join the fight. However Supervillain Vegeta notes that he is beyond petty attachments and denouncing his pride, causing Future Trunks to note that his father was a proud Saiyan warrior and that he would never say such a thing, aware that Vegeta himself was being manipulated to say those things by the brainwashing.

Meanwhile, Chronoa and Elder Kai wonder why the Omni-Kings haven't tried to erase Fu for his presence and interference. The Omni-Kings explain that Fu lied and said he was Dyspo's replacement. Despite recognizing Fu was lying to them, they were intrigued by his audacity and thus permitted him to take part under the guise of Fu being a member of Team Universe 11 which Fu wanted to win as it would greatly alter history thus providing him with ample amounts of energy.

As the fight with the brainwashed Vegeta drags on, he is eventually able to overcome the Supervillainization and returning to his normal self, causing Fu note how he was able to overcome the Supervillainization. However Vegeta refuses to accept Future Trunks' help in dealing with Top who is still under the effects of the Supervillainization. Vegeta notes he is going to make Fu regret the energy he gave to him, before remembering Bulma, Bulla, Trunks, and Cabba, SSGSS Evolved Vegeta charges a Super Galick Gun powered by the energy he received from Fu and his resolve to defeat Top to protect his family along with Universe 7, and fulfill his promise to Cabba, which is able to overpower God of Destruction Top, eliminating him from the tournament.

However Vegeta's victory is rendered somewhat moot as Jiren eliminates Vegeta with a Full Power Energy Wave. Chronoa and Elder Kai task Future Trunks and the Future Warrior with keeping Fu from interfering with Goku's battle with Jiren. The two manage to hold him off, but eventually Chronoa and Elder Kai detect another Time Rift forming which they discover is forming inside the Time Rift within the Null Realm (a Time Rift inside another Time Rift). Fu takes the opportunity to flee into this second time rift forcing Future Trunks and the Future Warrior to give chase while Goku and Team Universe 7 are left to deal with Jiren (as Fu's effectively forfeits by leaving the tournament, thus leaving Jiren as the only remaining member of Team Universe 11 due to him taking Dyspo's spot).

Extra Mission 02: "Too Many Janembas!"

The Time Rift drops Fu in Hell where he and the anomalous Future Janemba are confronted by Future Pikkon after Future Janemba alters reality similar to his main timeline counterpart.

Future Trunks and the Future Warrior fortunately arrive to provide Future Pikkon with backup, though they mistake him for his main timeline counterpart as they assume they are confronting the Super Janemba of the main timeline from Fusion Reborn with Goku, Vegeta, and Gogeta being absent. Fu uses his third remaining Demon Realm Crystal to grant Supervillainization to Future Janemba which enhances Future Janemba's Mystic Copy ability allowing him to produce an army of Supervillain empowered clones. The clones soon overwhelm the heroes by sheer numbers, though fortunately they receive assistance from an old ally, Future Trunks' mentor Future Gohan (with the Time Rift itself being located in the future timeline seen in the A Desperate Future Saga where Future Gohan went to his death knowing Future Trunks would ultimately succeed in defeating the Androids). It is suggested that Future Gohan only recently died as he is unfamiliar with Future Pikkon. Working together they manage to thin down the number of Janembas before Future Gohan realizes there must be something generating the clones, which turns out to be Future Janemba•Supervillain. Though they manage to defeat him, Janemba•Supervillain shaved off more life to revive himself, causing his power to increase due to his Saiyan-like ability to grow stronger after coming close to death and with this increased power, he defeats both Future Pikkon and Future Trunks with a single Dimension Ray shot. Fortunately, Goku from the Tournament of Power uses the Time Rift within the Null Realm to reach Hell as thanks for the Time Patrol helping ensure that Team Universe 7 won the Tournament of Power. Fu is intrigued by this development, even as Goku goes Super Saiyan Blue to take on the army of Janembas alongside Future Gohan and the Future Warrior. Though Future Gohan is curious about Super Saiyan Blue, Goku tells him to save his questions for later after they deal with the Janembas and Fu. After defeating the main Future Janemba producing the clones, Goku and Future Gohan take out the remaining Future Janemba clones in a well coordinated assault and an improvised Father-Son Kamehameha. However Fu reveals that Future Janemba never existed within Future Gohan and Future Pikkon's timeline, thus defeating him does not correct history. With the Janembas defeated, Fu considers his experiment a success as he absorbs the energy from the history changes to the shock of Goku, Future Gohan, and Future Pikkon, while Future Trunks and the Future Warrior chase after Fu once more, leaving the fate of their allies unclear as Hell disappears due to time rift's timeline being converted into energy.

Fu Escapes?

The Future Warrior and Future Trunks suddenly find themselves back within the Time Vault with no memory of what happened after they followed Fu. With no further leads, they decide it is best to wait until Fu makes his next move.

Extra Mission 03: "Fu: The Man with a Plan"
"As you're probably already aware, Conton City TV's been hijacked by someone. And by someone, I mean Fu. Not sure what he's up to, but it seems he wants to show us something. Thanks to all of you, I was able to restore the video Fu played back then. Let's take a look .."
Chronoa in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Eventually Fu hacks into the Conton City TV feed to broadcast a message to the Time Patrol in order to show them something.

"Fu: Uuh, sooo... The image coming in clear? Alright! Seems to be working! Hey there! My name's Fu! You've all been a huge help in my experiments! And now, it's time to finally show off my findings! I can't tell you how excited I am! Not really sure how you Time Patrollers'll react to all of this. But I'm sure the results will blow everyone away, so whatever you do, stay tuned. Okay, it's about time to... Huh? Hey, it looks like we've got a guest! He's gonna want to see this too! Future Trunks: That's far enough, Fu! Fu: Aha ha ha! No, it's not! I'm only just getting started! We're talking about history like no one's ever seen! You ready? It's time to go on a little trip through time!"
Fu's broadcast in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Thanks to Future Trunks, the Future Warrior, and other Time Patrollers that witnessed the broadcast, Chronoa was able to restore the video Fu played back then for review by herself, Future Trunks, and the Future Warrior. The broadcast shows Fu inside the Crack of Time as he explains how the Time Patrol has been a huge help in his experiments and prepares to show off his findings, though he isn't sure how the Time Patrollers will react to it, he is sure his findings will blow them away. Eventually Future Trunks makes it through the portal from Hell and tells Fu that's far enough, though Fu laughs noting he's only just getting started, before producing a slash of energy from his blade that shows a timeline where Goku and Vegeta are performing the Fusion Dance to become Gogeta. Fu ends the video asking if they are ready for another little trip through time.

Chronoa wonders about what Fu said, while Future Trunks' memories of what happened are starting to return thanks to the video jogging his memory. However he is confused by the vision of Goku and Vegeta fusing as it leaves him confused and stumped as he can't think of any timeline that matches Gogeta's appearance (as he is only familiar with the Gogeta of the Fusion Reborn and GT timelines). Chronoa notes they are going to have trouble getting there, but then gets an idea to wait, confident that a way there will soon materialize since Fu is involved.

Extra Mission 04: "Blue Gogeta's Back-up"

The Future Warrior and Future Trunks notice a new Time Rift inside the Time Vault, leading them to inform Chronoa once the Future Warrior is prepared. While Chronoa is convinced it is the working of Fu, Future Trunks questions why she is so sure it is him as they have no indication of his involvement, but Chronoa notes he is the only one they know who could be responsible as Demigra, Towa, Mira, & Dabura have all been defeated. While she would normally send Future Trunks in she points out she needs his assistance managing things from the Time Vault as Elder Kai is apparently busy. She sends in the Future Warrior, telling them to watch out for Fu, only for Future Trunks to remind her they don't have confirmation he is involved.

Meanwhile, Fu arrives at the Volcanic Wasteland as Blue Gogeta faces off against Full Power Super Saiyan Broly. Fu is amazed by the amount of energy the two are packing, before correcting himself by pointing out Gogeta is essentially two people fused thus counts them as two, making three. However Fu notes that he didn't come to watch them beat on each other and approaches Blue Gogeta. Blue Gogeta attempts to warn Fu to stay back assuming he is an innocent bystander, but Fu proceeds to use a variation of Remote Serious Bomb to seal Gogeta's Super Saiyan Blue form, causing him to revert to his base form, with Fu wondering how things will play out with Gogeta forced to face the Legendary Super Saiyan without the power of Super Saiyan Blue. Fortunately, the Future Warrior arrives just in time to provide Gogeta some back-up.

Chronoa is quick to point out she was right to suspect Fu's involvement upon noticing his presence. Future Trunks asks where they are as he does not recognize this timeline. Chronoa explains that this is the period after the Tournament of Power, where Goku and Vegeta meet a long lost Saiyan and fight him. Future Trunks asks if she thinks the Time Rift could have formed naturally, though she is convinced that it was clearly Fu who opened the rift, as she can't imagine who or what else could have caused it.

Chronoa notes that Broly is incredibly strong and while Gogeta notes the Future Warrior seems strong enough to hold their own, Chronoa is quick to point out Broly is strong enough to fight toe-to-toe with Blue Gogeta and wonders how in the world they are going to fix a timeline like this on their own. Fu laughs and explains he thinks changing history in the same way each and every time would get totally boring, which is why he decided to change his tactics by handicapping Gogeta instead of the usual empowerment route, even telling the Time Patrol they are welcome. However Fu soon notices that the Future Warrior and Gogeta a struggling too early for his liking and that Broly might win at this rate. Deciding that things are too one-sided, Fu elects to even the playing field. Fu summons Super Saiyan 2 Caulifla and the Legendary Super Saiyan of Universe 6 Kale in her Super Saiyan 2 form to join the fight. Always looking for a challenge, Fu is easily able to convince Caulifla to join the fight with Kale simply following her lead as usual. Despite evening the odds, Chronoa remains angry at Fu due to him altering history further by getting the two strongest female Saiyans of Universe 6 involved in the conflict with Broly. Fu however refuses to listen to her as he sees no issue with altering history, causing Chronoa to change her tone and ask him nicely to stop altering history.

As the Future Warrior and their allies are starting to make some headway in their fight with Broly, Fu notes the battle is intensifying, but he feels like he's not reaching the energy levels he was hoping for and assumes he must have screwed up his calculations and that it isn't very fun. Caulifla notes that they're going to have to kick it into overdrive, and tells Kale that it's time for them to show the meathead Broly what happens when they get serious.

This leads them donning their Potara earrings, as Caulifla announces that they'll show them who the strongest Saiyan really is before fusing into Super Saiyan Kefla. Fu is pleased by the sudden fusion of Caulifla and Kale. Not one to be out done by another fusion, Gogeta launches a powerful Soul Punisher at Broly. Unfortunately Gogeta's fusion times out not soon after, much to Fu's disappointment.

Extra Mission 05: "Saiyan Showdown"

Following Gogeta's defusion, Broly fires a Gigantic Roar which KOs Goku, Vegeta, and Kefla, leaving only Future Warrior standing. Chronoa notes their situation is awful as they were so close to defeating Broly. Fu is amazed by Broly's power and while he was only intending upon collecting energy, he gathered some useful data as well. Fu decides he just needs a sample of Broly's blood for research. Unfortunately when he tries to sneak in in order to collect it, Broly mindlessly attacks him ignoring his attempts to redirect him to continue fighting with the Future Warrior. Broly hits Fu with a Gigantic Charge and Powered Shell dealing damage. Chronoa is horrified to realize not even Fu is able to control Broly and wonders what they are going to do. Broly then attacks Fu with a Gigantic Roar which leaves him injured and panting. Fu notes that while he likes to pour his soul into his research, that being said he is not willing to sacrifice it. With no alternative, Fu elects to use a Wormhole to summon the strongest mortal of Universe 11 and Fu's former teammate from the altered Tournament of Power Jiren.

Accepting the severity of the situation, Chronoa is forced to admit that Jiren is the best hope they have with Goku, Vegeta, and Kefla out of commission. However she isn't about to let Fu off the hook and demands he help clean up his mess by ensuring Broly is defeated.

Eventually Goku recovers and is surprised to see Jiren, wondering what he is doing in Universe 7 as he was unconscious when Fu summoned Jiren. Jiren tells Goku to save his questions for later as Broly heads right towards them. Jiren wonder why Broly is targeting Goku over him, while Goku finds it lame that there are so many strong fighters around and yet he can't release his full power. Wanting to return the favor Goku and all of Universe 7 paid him at the Tournament of Power, Jiren decides to unleash his Full Power against Broly, challenging the beastial Legendary Super Saiyan to fight him.

Chronoa notes the fight has gone way beyond anything she could've ever imagined, while Future Trunks compares the fight between Full Power Super Saiyan Broly and Jiren (Full Power) as like watching a battle between two Gods of Destruction. Chronoa complements the Future Warrior as she notes hard to believe a Time Patroller's able to keep up with the likes of Jiren and Broly. However, she also points out that it looks like one of their trainees has finally one-upped him. Future Trunks however just laughs it off and suggests that he'll ask them for a sparring match later, so he doesn't fall too far behind.

Eventually the clashing of Jiren and Broly's fists causes them to break the dimensional barrier transporting them to the Dimension of Strange Swirling Lights, only returning to Universe 7 as a result of the energy clash between Jiren's Full Power Energy Wave and Broly's Gigantic Roar. Meanwhile, Fu decides to take the opportunity to absorb the energy from the history changes to net himself a decent amount of energy before making his escape in the confusion.

Power[]

Manga and Anime

In the anime, Fu is able to easily deflect a ki blast from Super Saiyan 4 Xeno Goku. When Cumber began damaging the seal around the Prison Planet, Fu decided to intervene. He became Super Fu and absorbed Cumber's Power Ball into his sword. He then channeled a reverse phase wave into his sword strike in order to revert Cumber back to his base form and proceeded to easily dodge a punch from the ancient Saiyan. He then nonchalantly evades Golden Cooler's sneak attack blast and disappears. In the manga Super Fu proves fast enough to cut off Golden Great Ape Cumber's tail. In the anime, Super Fu is later able to force Super Saiyan 4 Xeno Goku and Super Saiyan 4 Xeno Vegeta on the defensive, showing surprise that the two remained standing after his attack.

In the Universe Creation Saga, Fu was able to easily stop Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta's punch and later fended off both Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (Berserk) Goku and Vegeta, though their attacks had become wild and sloppy. Fu is uninterested in fighting Super Saiyan Blue Vegito based on his performance on the Prison Planet, but to his shock, Vegito proves more than a match for Super Fu, prompting the scientist to note that he had grown stronger than before. In the manga Fu states that if Goku and Vegeta hadn't already used up most of their energy against Janemba, Fu would have been in danger against Vegito. In the anime Fu is easily outmatched by Vegito, who had demanded he use his true power. He had a similar disadvantage against Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker Xeno Vegito, noticeably irritated when fighting him despite not taking much heavy damage.

As the Dark King, Fu is able to hold his own against Super Saiyan Blue Vegito and Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker Xeno Vegito at the same time, though he is at a disadvantage and thus has to fight strategically using the Dark Factor.

After absorbing Dogidogi, Fu is able to withstand attacks from both Super Saiyan God SS Evolved Gogeta and Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker Xeno Gogeta and upon using his full power and forming a second wing is able to overpower them and cause the two to defuse. He is eventually defeated by Goku in his Super Saiyan Blue form after he absorbs and harnesses the power of the Universe Tree.

Statements by guidebooks and authors

Fu has inherited tremendous strength from his father. It is believed he will gradually awaken to this power as he grows up.[5]

Fu is the ultimate existence created by Towa, with the cells of all the strongest fighters including the Saiyans and probably Mechikabura. As such he is so strong that nobody could handle or even hurt him.[2]

Fu clashing swords with Future Trunks in Super Dragon Ball Heroes Universe Mission 1

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, he is a skilled swordsman and well versed in long distance attacks.[1] Fu is an expert at concealing his presence and illusions in a ninja-like manner and can bypass the Time Nest's barrier at will allowing him to access the Time Nest freely though he must conceal his presence once the Time Patrol become aware of him though his power to conceal or disguise himself has no effect on the Future Warrior though he takes advantage of this to work with the Future Warrior as Chronoa, Elder Kai, and Xeno Trunks cannot perceive Fu while he's concealing himself.

Fu also appears to have the ability to manipulate time rifts to summon fighters from other timelines such as Future 17 and 18. When Dabura brainwashes Future Jiren to fight Future Trunks alongside Goku Black and Future Zamasu, Fu uses this ability to summon Tapion to assist Future Trunks in the fight. Fu can also resurrect people as when he resurrects Videl during Vegito's battle with Super Buu.

Fu vs Vegito

Super Fu clashes with Vegito Blue in Super Dragon Ball Heroes Big Bang Mission 4

After Dabura and Demigra are defeated by the Future Warrior and their master, Dabura still believes that Fu is strong enough to defeat them. Fu's swordsmanship skills are great enough that he can deflect Dabura's Stone Spit back at him. When Super Saiyan Blue Goku is sent by Old Kai to capture him, Fu flees as he believes he may lose to Goku. When Fu gives all of the Time Rift energy he has gathered to the Future Warrior, making him strong enough to defeat Super Saiyan Blue Goku and then match Ultra Instinct Goku - shocking Fu at their power.

During the altered history of the Broly conflict, Fu is attacked by Broly when he attempts to acquire a blood sample and while he manages to survive a Gigantic Roar which had previously knocked out Goku, Vegeta, and Kefla in one shot, Fu uses his remaining strength to summon Jiren, indicating Fu himself is no match for Broly even with the Future Warrior backing him up, especially when one considers Full Power Super Saiyan Broly was strong enough to go toe-to-toe with Jiren (Full Power). However, Fu did previously manage to magically seal Gogeta's power preventing him from utilizing Super Saiyan or Super Saiyan Blue.

In Dragon Ball Heroes, when Fu achieves the perfected state of his Dogidogi absorbed Dark King form, Hearts notes he has become an existence akin to Zeno.

    • Transformation Sealing - During Extra Mission: "Blue Gogeta's Back-up", Fu uses this portion of Remote Serious Bomb to seal Gogeta's ability to maintain his Super Saiyan Blue form and prevent him from transforming into a Super Saiyan while fighting Full Power Super Saiyan Broly. The effect is shown to last even after Gogeta had defused due to his fusion time limit, as Goku is bummed out that he can't access his full power indicating the sealing effect was transferred to Gogeta's fusee, Goku and Vegeta.
      • DUAL Remote Serious Bomb - A two person team attack version of Remote Serious Bomb. Fu's Dual Ultimate Attack skill in Xenoverse 2.

Planning on buying time so the Universe Tree can be revived, Fu allowed the previous Dark King: Mechikabura to take control of his body. The possession changes nothing in Fu's body but allowed Mechikabura to create a large avatar of darkness of his Time Power Unleashed state, his clawed hands and chestplate being the only parts composing it. In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Fu will give 10 Demon Realm Crystals for Gift (Demigra), Gift (Fused Zamasu), or Gift (Mira) after their corresponding character has been unlocked for Crystal Raids and Training Mode.
  • Special Dragon Ball - A set of seven Dragon Balls utilized for the Prison Planet.

  • Health to Ki Conversion Device - In a time fragment timeline in Xenoverse 2, Fu develops a device that can convert health into ki increasing the wearer's power level at the cost of draining health which Piccolo notes is a dangerous strategy. This is later shown when Fu decides to join in the field test and almost ends up converting all of his health into energy, though he is pleased with the experiment's results.
  • Cloning Machine - A strange device that allows Fu to create clones of Goku and Vegeta's various forms. Appears as part of the Legendary Pack 2 DLC, during New Parallel Quest 149: "Clash of the Clones" where Fu's planned experiments with the Time Patrol, Goku, and Vegeta, end up going haywire as Vegeta (tired of being used as a guinea pig by Fu) attacks the machine, causing it to spit out more dangerous clones of Vegeta and Goku. Fortunately, the Time Patrol are able to defeat the clones and if they do so in under 8 minutes, with the machine no longer a problem, the real Goku and Vegeta will fuse into SSGSS Gogeta to test their strength.
