I know this may sound like a weird question, but why does gotenks rub his nose? What does it mean? It's not just gotenks, I saw some other chracters do it occasionally, but gotenks rubs his nose constantly. It is a japanese custom? Msdbzfanssjelite 02:21, August 14, 2011 (UTC)

Forum Why is Gotenks always rubbing his nose?

[[Category:{{{1}}}|Why is Gotenks always rubbing his nose?]]

"snot nosed brat"

he was arrogant and annoying really. the terms comes from the fact that kids never blow their noses and so they always have mucus and so theyre always wiping their noses to stop it from dripping. this was a play at gotenks childish manner and attitude, stemming of course from him being a kid. other characters may do it, but probably only when theyve been hit and are just wiping blood off.

Middle Ages

In the Shakespeare play Romeo and Juliet the first fight was cause by the capulets servants rubbing there noses at the montagues servants. So its really just the middle age equivalent of the finger.

They were biting their thumbs not rubbing their noses you dolt

I doubt that's it, since it's two different cultures and two different times. I prefer the explanation above. --DARK 19:44, August 14, 2011 (UTC)

Japanese cliche

I believe this is an homage to Yûzo Kayama's popular "Yuichi Tanuma" character Wakadaishô/Young Guy movies. This is very abundant in several shonen anime.
