Because the 'future of our wiki' discussion receives new comments frequently and can be somewhat difficult to follow, this page has been created to allow people uninvolved in the discussion to easily keep track of major developments. If you prefer not to follow the aforementioned discussion, but still would like to keep informed, you're encouraged to follow this page. It will be updated with new information as the discussion progresses.
Present status
Consensus is currently in favor of leaving Wikia if possible. Practically all active editors who have participated have agreed that they will stick with our community whether we move or not.
A few of the details of our transition (such as our domain name and how we work around the old wiki) were worked out in a conference that took place Saturday, November 20th at 12:30PM PST. It was decided that our new wiki will be rebranded as the Dragon Ball Encyclopedia, in order to emphasize its focus on encyclopedic content. The following domain names were registered for the new wiki:

- dragonballwiki.org
(Note that these addresses do not yet point anywhere, but once the wiki has been transferred to its new host, you'll be able to use any of them to reach the new wiki.) Thanks go to Dantman not only for reserving them but also for footing the bill!
Since the focus of the new wiki is article content, users who share that focus will be encouraged to join us on the new Dragon Ball Encyclopedia. Likewise, users who are more inclined to explore the social aspects of wikis that Wikia promotes will be encouraged to continue such activity here on the Dragon Ball Wiki.
Our wiki has been transferred to its new home! Head on over and sign in with the same user name and password that you have here. If you have any special right on this wiki, drop nonoitall or Dantman a line on this wiki once you've reclaimed your name and we'll get your permissions restored on the new wiki.
