How can Nappa, who's power level was around 6000, be a elite saiyan but Bardock, who's power level was in between 10,000 and 15,000? Can someone please explain this to me?

You're not Elite because you're strong; you're born into it. Tarble is still royalty, even though he was banished for being weak. Bardock is still Low-Class, even though he could probably fight King Vegeta evenly. --DARK 19:18, January 12, 2013 (UTC)
Delusional blue bloods are universal[]
Saiyans placed in a rank based on their fighting power at birth, and they do seem to imply that the elite families are usually born with a naturally higher fighting power. However the premise of a case system based on your power-level is idiotic, when you come from a race that gets stronger after every battle, especially in those cases where they're beaten within an inch of their life. I do wonder if Bardock was out to prove something by choosing particularly difficult missions for third class warriors. Also he seems to be a gifted fighter in terms of skills even for saiyan standards. I think Goku inherited this from him. This kind of reminds me of feudalism in real life.
