Flying Pillar[3] is a vehicle used by Mercenary Tao.
Overview[]
Tao throws a pillar (or something similar, like a tree) into the air in a certain speed and direction, then jumps on it, riding it to his destination. The pillar may also strike the opponents at the landing spot. Tao's flying pillar moves at 10,000km/h at full speed.
Usage[]
Tao takes a pillar from Red Ribbon Army Headquarters and rides it to the Sacred Land of Korin to take Goku's Dragon Balls.[4] After defeating Goku and taking his three Dragon Balls, Tao uses the same pillar to go to the nearest town for a new outfit.[5] Tao returns to the Sacred Land of Korin get Goku's Four-Star Ball.[6][7]
In the anime, after learning Gohan was Goku's son, Tao chops a pine tree and flies away with it.[8]
Film Appearances[]
In Dragon Ball: Mystical Adventure, Tao takes a pillar from the castle and rides it to the location where Goku was at.
Video Game Appearances[]
In Xenoverse 2, as pre-order DLC, Tao's pink pillar appears as a vehicle for the Future Warrior to ride while in Conton City and some areas outside of it. Its capsule is listed in the Vehicle settings as Vehicle Capsule #881. Interestingly, it travels faster than the default vehicle (Vehicle Capsule #315) that the Warrior receives from Chronoa.
In Kakarot, as purchasable DLC, Tao's pink pillar appears as a vehicle for the player to ride around the various areas. When thrown, the player will teleport onto its surface as it traverses the sky. The distance is determined by the player's timing when thrown.
