Manga & Anime

In the Dark Demon Realm Mission manga, during the Dark Demon Realm Saga Super Saiyan Future Trunks is shown to be around as strong as he was when he destroyed Future Imperfect Cell, and by working alongside the Masked Saiyan is able to overwhelm Super Mira, though it is said that he would stand no chance against Demon God Demigra. He soon after trains for half a year with Xeno Goku, and upon encountering Mira again in the Dark Empire Saga, base Xeno Trunks is able to wipe out base Mira with a Kamehameha. As a Super Saiyan, he is able to hold his own against Demon God Xeno Majin Buu.

In the Dark King Mechikabura Saga, as a Super Saiyan 3 Xeno Trunks is able to quickly defeat the corrupt Time Power Unleashed Chronoa, freeing her from her brainwashing.

After transforming into a Super Saiyan God, Xeno Trunks notes that he has a power unlike any he has felt before, he is able to match and overpower Fin in his Ultimate Evolution form but is unable to defeat Mechikabura thanks to his immortality. However, upon taking up the recharged Key Sword with all four of the power of the gods, Xeno Trunks is able to able to defeat Mechikabura by sealing him away for good.

Even as a Super Saiyan God, Xeno Trunks' power pales in comparison to Beerus' and it takes everything Trunks has just to shift the trajectory of a Finger Beam from Beerus even after Tokitoki had sealed his God of Destruction power.

Later on, he faces the Future Warrior in Black who had his potential unlocked by Dark Shenron. Despite then becoming a Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan God Xeno Trunks is still able to overpower him during a beam clash albeit it took considerable effort to do so.

Video Games

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Trunks's power is shown to have drastically improved from his time in the Time Patrol. Upon meeting the Future Warrior for the first time Trunks takes all of his attacks and shows no signs of damage or fatigue. Later with the Future Warrior assisting him, Super Saiyan Trunks was able to fight on par with Mira (suppressed), a being who was confident enough to believe he could beat Super Saiyan 3 Goku and Majin Buu at the same time easily even while suppressing his power. Later while working with the Future Warrior, they were able hold off Beerus and Whis - who were testing their power. Shortly after, while he was possessed by Demigra not only was he able to briefly fight the Future Warrior on his own, but he was also able to resist Demigra's control.

Trunks has greatly improved in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. In The Ginyu Force Strikes Saga, Captain Ginyu (in Trunks: Xeno's body) noted a very high level of power and decided that his body was worth keeping. In The Galactic Emperor Saga, Trunks: Xeno (in his base form) and the new Future Warrior were able to defeat Lord Slug and Turles (who were powered up from the Demon Realm enhanced Fruit of the Tree of Might). During the Android Warfare Saga,, Trunks: Xeno was able to help the Future Warrior fight off the Meta Coolers. In the A Desperate Future Saga, he, Future Gohan, and the 2nd Future Warrior were able to simultaneously stand against Mira and overpowered him with their combined might enhanced by their fighting spirit. In the Masked Saiyan Saga Trunks: Xeno and the 2nd Future Warrior were able to fight and beat both the Masked Saiyan and Mira, then afterwards the previous 1st Future Warrior (under Towa's control), and Towa simultaneously. However, during the Warrior from the Demon World Saga, he is easily subdued by Mira who had developed a fighting spirit of his own and was enhanced by the Supervillain power up. In the Unknown History Saga, Trunks: Xeno was able to help Future Gohan to finally defeat both Android 17 and 18. In the Epilogue, Trunks: Xeno believes he is stronger than the two Future Warriors as he is more experienced and has been a Time Patroller longer than either of them but Old Kai refutes his boosting noting that being more experienced wouldn't necessarily make him the better fighter.

During the Dark King Mechikabura Saga in Dragon Ball Heroes, Super Saiyan God Xeno Trunks is able to fight off Ultimate Evolution Fin as well as Towa, Xeno Dabura, Gravy and Putine in their second Demon God forms all at once. He then goes on to fight Mechikabura in his perfect state.

In Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission, Xeno Trunks as Great Saiyaman 3 was able to make short work of Cooler (Final Form), beating him with the same attack he used against Mecha Frieza. However, in the animated opening cutscene, Super Saiyan Xeno Trunks is defeated by Sealas.

During the game world Dabura's first invasion of Hero Town, with the aid of his SDBH deck Great Saiyaman 3 is initially able to hold his own against Villainous Mode empowered Dabura, Spopovich, and Yamu. Beat and Note, unable to fight in the real world, are impressed by the Hero Master, believing he has the upper hand against the King of Demon Realm. However, Dabura starts fighting seriously and manages to break Great Saiyaman 3's guard with a powerful punch and it weakens the Hero Master to the point he is barely able to avoid being turned to stone by Dabura's Stone Spit. Additionally, he falls prey to Spopovich and Yamu's Majin Buu Resurrection team attack and like Gohan he has his energy drained by Yamu's Energy-Suction Device. Unfortunately, the Hero Master is sidelined as a result, though fortunately Dabura elects to return the stolen energy to his master and the villains return to the game world via the tear in space. The energy drain forces the Hero Master to rely on Beat and Note while his body recovers naturally.

In the Prologue for Dragon Ball: The Breakers , the Xenoverse version of Xeno Trunks as a Super Saiyan is shown to be able to hold his own against Perfect Cell within the Temporal Seam, long enough for The Survivor, Nallej, & Xiaon to activate the Super Time Machine's Startup System. In Episode 3, Burter's Scouter reads base Trunks' power as 5,000, same as Goku's when he confronted the Ginyu Force. However like Goku, Trunks was surpassing his power to around 5,000, fooling Burter's Scouter much like he had done when confronting the Frieza Force during the Trunks Saga. After eliminating Recoome, Burter, & Jeice with little effort as he refuses to go easy on them like Goku, Ginyu's Scouter also registers his power level as 5000, though Ginyu realizes Future Trunks knows how to control it at will like himself, yet is surprised when Future Trunks manages to block his punch, suspecting he may be a Super Saiyan after Future Trunks reveals he is half Saiyan, though refuses to deny or confirm he is one when Ginyu asks.

Super Saiyan Xeno Trunks in Dragon Ball Heroes.

Like his main timeline counterpart, Xeno Trunks is able to transform into a Super Saiyan, does so to battle against various enemies in time. As a Time Patroller, Xeno Trunks uses the Super Saiyan Full Power transformation which he achieved some point before his final confrontation with the Androids within the Xeno world alternate future timeline after the Cell Games in the Xeno world main timeline, following the example set by Goku and Gohan.

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, this form is called Future Super Saiyan which is depicted as a variant of the Super Saiyan Awoken Skill that allows Trunks to recover ki faster than others Super Saiyan forms.

Power Stressed

During the Dark Demon Realm Saga in Dragon Ball Heroes, Xeno Trunks transforms into a Super Saiyan 2.

Super Saiyan 3

SSJ3XenoTrunks

Xeno Trunks as a Super Saiyan 3 in the 4th Super Dragon Ball Heroes mission OVA trailer.

Xeno Trunks is capable of becoming a Super Saiyan 3. As seen in the fourth trailer for Super Dragon Ball Heroes (SDBH4), when Xeno Trunks goes Super Saiyan 3, he has the two thin bangs from his teen and adolescent versions, but the bangs are a little bit longer. Over time, Xeno Trunks became able to access this form at will.

In the manga version of the Dark Empire Saga, Future Trunks uses Super Saiyan 3 in the final battle to take down a horde of Demon Realm Soldiers and Shinigami Soldiers to clear a path for Chronoa. Future Trunks is only capable of using this state for 10 seconds.[5]

In World Mission, Super Saiyan 3 Trunks (Xeno) appears as one of his playable forms and he also uses this form during the Time Patrol's final confrontation with Sealas (Fused) within the Time Nest alongside Time Power Unleashed Chronoa, Super Saiyan 4 Xeno Gogeta, and Beat in his natural Super Saiyan Blue form.

Super Saiyan God

Main article: Super Saiyan God

"He's a warrior with the power of a God."
Chronoa to Xeno Trunks' achievement of Super Saiyan God in "The Divine Power".

Near the end of the Dark King Mechikabura Saga, Chronoa suggests that the Saiyan members of the Time Patrol perform the Super Saiyan God ritual through the involvement of the six righteous Saiyans of the group. with this, Xeno Trunks is able to transform into the Super Saiyan God transformation.

In this state, Xeno Trunks' long smooth hair also becomes slightly unruly, standing up at the ends (or his hairline parted at the center of his head upon attaining his former hairstyle in the Supreme Kai of Time Saga) and uniquely colored to a crimson red color. His eyes become more detailed, and the irises become red and his physical structure shifts to have a thinner and younger build and lastly, He attains a surging and fiery red and orange aura.

In the manga version of the saga, Xeno Vegeta, Xeno Goku, Xeno Gohan, Xeno Goten, and Xeno Pan unintentionally perform the Super Saiyan God ritual on Xeno Trunks while giving him energy as they were unaware of the ritual's existence due to none of them ever experiencing the events of the God of Destruction Beerus Saga in the Xeno World timeline and Chronoa does not reveal its existence to them.

Villainous Mode

The playable version of this form

In the finale of Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Demigra possess Future Trunks in order to have him fight against the Future Warrior. When fought in game Future Trunks also has Villainous Mode active, however when playable he lacks this additional form. Additionally, when fought during the story he lacks the purple shade he possesses otherwise. While Xeno Trunks has no control over his body in this form as he is being controlled by Demigra, he is capable of resisting it mentally as he encourages the Future Warrior to keep on attacking him to dispel Demigra's hold over him.

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Future Trunks has his body stolen by Captain Ginyu while he was trailing him to find Towa and Mira in Age 762. Due to his blunder, history is altered so that when Goku first encounters Ginyu, he is in Trunks body. Eventually Future Trunks in Ginyu's body joins the fight against Ginyu and Jeice. With the help of Goku and the Future Warrior, Ginyu is forced to attempt to switch bodies with Goku, only for Trunks to jump in the way allowing him to return to his body. Ginyu's Body also appears as an alternate skin/skillset for Future Trunks.

In Dragon Ball: The Breakers, Future Trunks switches bodies with Ginyu again, but they struggle to use them. Fortunately, the Survivors use the Dragon Balls to power up the Survivor so they can defeat Ginyu, forcing him to vacate Future Trunks' damaged body. This allows Future Trunks to undo the Body Change, while Nallej & Xiaon use a Namekian Frog to put a stop to Ginyu's body swapping.

Trunks (Ball)

Main article: Transfiguration Beam In Xenoverse 2 during the Hero Colosseum, when Future Warrior and Time Patrol Trunks approach Majin Buu while promoting the Hero Colosseum for Bulma, trying to get him to figure battle with the Future Warrior but a stubborn Buu wants to play ball and turns Time Patrol Trunks into a Ball using his Transfiguration Beam. In this form is called Trunks (Ball) and ironically is identical to his younger counterpart's ball that Demigra's Mirage used to anger Beerus in Xenoverse complete with a Capsule Corp. C.C. logo. Like Candy Vegito, Trunks (Ball) retains his ability to speak through telepathy and has some control over his ball form though in his case he bounces around constantly. Additionally, he is vulnerable to being kicked as shown by the Future Warrior who can chose to kick Trunks (Ball) as their reaction to Time Patrol Trunks being turned into a ball. Since only Buu can restore him to normal Trunks (Ball) convinces Buu to have a figure battle with the Future Warrior and if he doesn't like it Trunks (Ball) will play whatever he wants. The Future Warrior defeats Buu who enjoys the game and wants to play more as it is more fun than playing ball. Buu returns Trunks (Ball) back into Time Patrol Trunks.

Great Saiyaman 3

Great Saiyaman 3

Great Saiyaman 3

In Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission, Xeno Trunks and Beat acquire their own versions of the Great Saiyaman Suit which are depicted as high-tech suits of armor. While wearing their suits, Xeno Trunks takes on the alter-ego of Great Saiyaman 3, while Beat takes on the alter-ego of Great Saiyaman 4. Xeno Trunks' Great Saiyaman 3 Suit resembles Gohan's suit in coloration and helmet design though it comes equipped with a high-tech sword. Beat' Great Saiyaman 4 Suit resembles Xeno Trunks' though lacks a sword and features the traditional red and yellow color scheme of Beat's clothing. Due to their armored design the suits are apparently more durable, and their visors emit a yellow glow.

Like Gohan's Alter-Ego Great Saiyaman, Xeno Trunks wears his Great Saiyaman 3 Suit to conceal his identity as he like Xeno Vegeta and Xeno Goku is super famous in Hero Town due to the popularity of Super Dragon Ball Heroes, so his Alter-Ego allows him to investigate the anomalies within the game more discreetly. Ironically, Great Saiyaman 3 becomes hugely popular SDBH player among the inhabitants of Hero Town, who is nicknamed Hero Master which is often shortened to Master as Note explains that Great Saiyaman 3 is too long to say in casual conversation hence his nickname and the shortened version of it. As Great Saiyaman 3, he acts as both the leader and mentor of the Dragon Ball Heroes team as he recruits both Note and Beat.

Leggings was the one who "knighted" Xeno Trunks as Great Saiyaman 3, indicating she was involved in its design and development. This makes sense as she also co-created the Hero Switch that allows Beat to manifest his Great Saiyaman 4 Suit due to idolizing the Hero Master.

Xeno Gotenks

In Dragon Ball Heroes, when Xeno Trunks performs the Fusion Dance with Xeno Goten they form Xeno Gotenks - who is identical in appearance to adult Gotenks, although he retains some clothes from the fusees, like the black pants and Xeno Trunks' gloves. He also possesses Future Trunks' Sword, giving him a different style in combat from his counterpart.

Xeno Vegeks

Xeno Vegeks

In the first mission of Super Dragon Ball Heroes, in order to combat Demon God Towa, Xeno Trunks uses Chronoa's Potara earrings to fuse with Xeno Vegeta, resulting in the creation of Xeno Vegeks. His battle armor resembles Vegeta's, and his hair becomes a combination of Trunks' and Vegeta's, with black and purple coloring.

In World Mission, when Xeno Vegeta (Super Saiyan 3) refuses to perform Potara fusion with Xeno Goku (Super Saiyan 3) to combat Xeno Janemba, he requests to fuse with Xeno Trunks (Base) as he considers fusing with his son to be more dignified that fusing with Xeno Goku. Xeno Trunks agrees though Xeno Vegeta states it will be the first and final time they do so. The two fuses into Xeno Vegeks (Super Saiyan) who easily annihilates Xeno Janemba. However due to Xeno Trunks still recovering (and presumably due to Xeno Vegeta being in his Super Saiyan 3 form) Xeno Vegeks fusion time was shortened significantly.

Xeno Gohanks

Xeno Gohanks

In Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Xeno Trunks can fuse with Xeno Gohan through the Fusion Dance, creating Xeno Gohanks. He looks similar to Future Gohanks, though with longer bangs due to Xeno Trunks having long hair at the time, as well as slightly different clothes. Xeno Gohanks was introduced in SDBH6.

Deck

In World Mission, in his alter-ego as Great Saiyaman 3, he becomes a Super Dragon Ball Heroes player in order to combat the SDBH game world anomalies, becoming a local legend among the SDBH player community in Hero Town known as the Hero Master. During the Two-Star Normal Mission "The Cause of the Commotion" in Chapter 2, Sub Chapter 2: "Hero Town in Danger!", Great Saiyaman 3 fights using a Cell Games themed deck consisting of Great Saiyaman 3, Super Saiyan Goku, Super Saiyan 2 Gohan (Teen), Piccolo, Super Saiyan Vegeta, Android 16, and Tien Shinhan. As an enemy in Secret Battle, Great Saiyaman 3's Deck is selected at random. One of his decks is Time Patrol themed which features Great Saiyaman 3, Time Power Unleashed Chronoa, Base Vegeta (Xeno), Base Goku (Xeno), Base/Super Saiyan 3 Bardock (Xeno), Base Gohan (Xeno), and Base Goten (Xeno). Another deck features Great Saiyaman 3, Great Saiyaman 2, Great Saiyaman, Super Saiyan Goten, Piccolo, Base/Great Ape Prince Vegeta, and Super Saiyan/Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta (Whis Symbol Armor).

Equipment
  • Time Machine - Before becoming a member of the Time Patrol, Xeno Trunks used his mother's Time Machine to travel into the past to deliver the Heart Medicine to Xeno Goku and warn the Dragon Team of the coming Android conflict creating the Xeno World main timeline in the process. Chronoa would later confront him over his "crime" of altering history, before offering him the job as a Time Patroller and her assistant as a form of atonement. After joining the Time Patrol, Xeno Trunks' Time Machine was modified with Chronoa's input to make it temporally safe. Xeno Trunks is seen using the Time Patrol sanctioned Time Machine in Dragon Ball Online and trailers for Dragon Ball Heroes.
  • Capsule - Capsules for the purpose of making objects compact and easy to transport.
    • CC Briefcase - A Capsule Corp briefcase containing survival gear which the Xenoverse version of Trunks lends to the Survivor in The Breakers when they are sucked into a Temporal Seam that opens within the Time Nest. Contains a Transceiver, Time Patrol Ray Gun, & a Transphere.
  • Dragon Radar - A tracking device that makes finding the Dragon Balls more efficient, compared to conventional methods.
DBH God Mission 1 (GDM1) Xeno Trunks' Capsule Corp Scouter (GDM1 Trailer - Resurrection F)

  • Scouter - In the God Mission 1 (GDM1) trailer, Xeno Trunks is seen using a Capsule Corporation green lens Scouter model which features the CC logo and can read power levels within at least a 10-digit range. However, after a brief encounter with the Masked Saiyan, Xeno Trunks gives the Scouter to Beat to use on his and Note's mission to an alternate version of Frieza's resurrection & revenge where the pair joins Goku, Vegeta, and Jaco in confronting Sorbet and Tagoma as they attempt to resurrect Frieza with the Dragon Balls. The Xenoverse version of Trunks briefly wears one in The Breakers while stuck in Ginyu's body.
  • Potara - Xeno Trunks has been given a pair of Chronoa more than once in order to fuse with Xeno Vegeta and Xeno Gohan.
  • Xeno Trunks' Sword - Xeno Trunks' primary weapon. It is the future timeline's Brave Sword according to some sources.

Super Saiyan God Xeno Trunks' Key Sword

  • Key Sword - A sword created by the gods to fight demons that is given to Trunks by Demigra. After the Key Sword is fully powered by Chronoa, Tokitoki and Demigra, the Key Sword becomes a glowing blue weapon chained to Xeno Trunks' arm. In the manga, Xeno Trunks' sword is transformed into a Key Sword by Robelu.
  • Scroll of Eternity - Special scrolls that contain the record of various time periods and eras in the history of the universe. Can also be used to travel through time safely in order to fix alterations made to recorded history. Used by Trunks in the Xenoverse series.

  • Hero Switch - A high-tech bracelet that allows the user to enter the game world of SDBH and has a feature that taps into the user's latent power allowing them to utilize game world abilities in the real world, as well as a built-in feature that allows the user to materialize a high-tech armored suit modelled after Great Saiyaman, effectively allowing the Hero Switch to serve the same function as the Great Saiyaman Watch.
    • Great Saiyaman Suit - A high-tech superhero suit modelled after Great Saiyaman 1 in coloration and developed by Leggings who "knighted" Xeno Trunks as Great Saiyaman 3. The suit comes equipped with a high-tech sword which Great Saiyaman 3 utilizes in place of the sword he normally wields as Xeno Trunks. Though he wears it as a disguise, Xeno Trunks isn't really a fan of the design and initially prohibited Leggings from revealing the Hero Switches' built-in feature to materialize the suit as she had intended for the entire DBH Team to wear them but was stopped by Xeno Trunks and Anne, though after Beat asks if he can have his own version of the suit, the Hero Master permits Leggings to tell the team though only Beat decides to actually use the feature.
      • Great Saiyaman 3's Sword - A high-tech sword designed by Leggings to be wielded by Xeno Trunks in his guise as Great Saiyaman 3. The sword can fire a powerful Sword Blast called Justice Slash and the blade can emit a Energy Shield around itself strong enough to withstand a punch from Final Form Cooler. Like Future Trunks' sword, it is sharp enough to cut through Frieza Race Bio Suits.
