Ray Blast (レイブラスト Rei Burasuto) is an Explosive Wave used by Kefla.

Overview[]

To perform this technique, Kefla powers up her aura to maximum capacity and releases it continuously in several laser-like beams that fire in all directions. Each beam's cutting power is great enough to easily slice through the Tournament of Power stage's debris. After the first release, Kefla can aim the beams manually. They are extremely fast, even for Ultra Instinct Sign Goku, who was barely able to dodge them (Master Roshi believing that he would not be able to survive a direct hit from one of them). The technique can even be further powered up, with the beams taking the form of red lightning bolts. Kefla can also fire her Gigantic Blast to support the technique. According to Vados, this move can be considered a true final weapon to settle a fight because of its destructive power and massive range.

Usage[]

Long ago, Moro is shown using this move after he absorbs a large amount of a planet's life energy and then releasing it as to attack the Supreme Kais.

In the anime version of the Tournament of Power, Kefla used this technique against Goku in his Ultra Instinct Sign form. When the attack fails to hit Goku, she resorts to the Gigantic Burst, but Goku is able to use his Divine Kamehameha to evade it and eliminate Kefla from the tournament.

In the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Moro uses this technique to try and hit Ultra Instinct Sign Goku.

In the Granolah the Survivor Saga, upon unleashing his intincts and turning into a berserker, Gas' aura gains this ability, causing wild destruction through the battlefield in his fight against Granolah.

Video Game Appearances[]

"Shoot out 3 Ki Waves in rapid succession while safety surrounded by a barrier that stops normal Ki Blasts! After firing, input the command for an Ultimate Attack to cancel the technique and fire that attack."
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Skill description

This technique was named Ray Blast in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 where it appears as one of Kefla's Super Skills. In Xenoverse 2, Ray Blast is a technique that that produces a protective barrier of aura around the user as they fire three bolts of ki that fire in rapid succession while the barrier protects the user from normal ki blasts. After firing, the user can use an Ultimate Skill to cancel the technique in order to transition to said Ultimate Skill (for example Kefla can transition to either a Gigantic Burst or Full Power Energy Wave) as long as they have enough Ki making it great for combos. Gigantic Burst also starts with the user sweeping three stronger Ray Blasts forward that knock the opponent back if they connect making the rest of the attack eaiser to land. The Future Warrior can obtain it as a random reward in New Parallel Quest 125: "Proof's in the Potara".

Caulifla can also use this attack in the Legendary Pack 2 DLC.
