Cross Epoch
Piccolo appears as a swordsman with Roronoa Zoro in the crossover manga Cross Epoch (both have the same Funimation dub voice actor, Christopher Sabat). They travel on deers with a lion face and are hopelessly lost until boarding the Kuri-Chopa Marine Train Coaster to attend Shenron's tea party. They save the train from being hit by Emperor Pilaf and Buggy's falling Tettiri Number 55 airship using their Reverse-Side Sword Attack. Zoro and Piccolo appear together again in the Dragon Ball × One Piece "Dream 9" promo, yelling that people should watch One Piece after Dragon Ball Z Kai aired.

Trivia
- Piccolo is named after the half-sized flute of the same name, continuing his family's name puns based on musical instruments. In the series, it is revealed that his name means "another world" in the Namekian language. The phrase "Piccolo" is used to open the door of the Namekian spaceship.
- The name "Piccolo" also means "small" in the Italian language, and, as a surname, was used to denote someone of small stature or height, which is rather ironic given Piccolo's height and build.
- Piccolo is Akira Toriyama's favorite character. He explains thoroughly "I believe mine would be Piccolo. He was the first character in my manga where I was like, 'He has a scary face, but he's so cool!' It really is cliché when bad guys turn into good guys, but it just feels great drawing it!".[2] He re-affirmed this in an interview for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.[3] Piccolo being his favorite is seemingly contradicted in a 1995 interview with Shōnen Jump where he states that Goku is his favorite character in the series.[4] However, in a 2003 interview he revealed that Goku, Mr. Satan and Piccolo are all amongst his favorite characters.[5]
- Piccolo has trained both of Goku's children: he trained Gohan to fight the Saiyans and Goten to fight Majin Buu. Alongside Goten, he also trained Trunks.
- He also acts as Pan's babysitter due to his bond with Gohan and given his experience in dealing with young Earthling-Saiyan hybrids.
- Piccolo was temporarily the strongest Z fighter two times. The first was when he fused with Nail, and the second time was after he fused with Kami, his powers surpassed that of Goku and Vegeta's Super Saiyan at the time.
- In the second half of the Dragon Ball GT episode "Raising the Stakes", when Videl is changing to her Great Saiyaman 2 outfit, a small Piccolo toy can be spotted in a box.
- Piccolo is one of several enemies or rivals to become an ally or friend. Others include Oolong, Yamcha, Krillin, Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu, then Vegeta, Androids 16, 17 and 18, Majin Buu, and finally Nuova Shenron.
- Piccolo was the youngest villain in the series, being only three years old when he fought Goku (despite having the physical and mental maturity of a teenager). Conversely, his father was the oldest villain in the series prior to the introduction of the millennia-old Majin Buu, having been an ambiguously high number of decades old when he was released from the Electric Rice Cooker.
- Piccolo was fittingly born on Piccolo Day, the holiday created by his father. He shares his birth date with his older brother Drum, who was born and died shortly before Piccolo was born.
- Piccolo's hobby is meditating in quiet places.[6]
- Piccolo's belt is usually colored blue in the anime, though a few video games (such as Dragon Ball Z: Super Butōden, Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors and Dragon Ball Online) have Piccolo wearing a red belt.
- In the old temple on Namek in Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku, there are statues of Piccolo.
- Piccolo is one of the few Namekians actually seen consuming food, as he is seen eating a fish when he was a child. He can also be seen eating at times in Dragon Ball Super despite being aware Namekians only require water.
- In Xenoverse, he is revealed to also be fond of the special water found in the Time Nest due to its ability to cleanse the mind and soul. As a result, he considers the Time Nest as a kind of utopia for Namekians (due to the fact his people subsist on water).
- During the fight between him and Goku in Dragon Ball, as well as on the fight with Raditz when he loses his arm, Piccolo is seen with red blood. But later in the series, he bleeds purple blood. In Dragon Ball Super, he was bleeding green blood, though during the events of Super Hero, he is seen bleeding red blood once again.
- Piccolo's favorite food is water (particularly the thawed ice water from the north area).[6]
- On the front cover of the VIZBIG EDITION of DRAGONBALL VOL. 12, Piccolo's skin tone is a pale bluish color.
- Piccolo is the only known Z Fighter who knows CPR, as seen when he resuscitates Gohan using Kiai Defibrillation and does multiple heart compressions on Goku after being hit by Hit's Flash Fist Crush.
- However Goku is able to use Kiai Defibrillation in the anime to resuscitate Master Roshi during the Tournament of Power.
- Piccolo technically fulfilled his purpose in avenging King Piccolo, as he killed Goku with his Special Beam Cannon in the fight against Raditz, but Goku wanted Piccolo to kill him so he could hold Raditz in place in order for the Special Beam Cannon to fatally wound the Saiyan invader.
- Interestingly, in the anime both Tambourine and Piccolo Jr. as a child end up having confrontations with Bears.
- Piccolo proceeding to fight General Blue in Dragon Ball GT while in Hell is most likely a reference to how the two shared the same Japanese voice actor. Ironically, Super Hero also had a similar reference due to Piccolo disguising himself as a Red Ribbon Army foot soldier at one point.
