Edward Marcus (born in Boston, Massachusetts) is a former American voice actor from AB Groupe. He retired some time in 2003.
Biography[]
His earliest on-screen appearance was in a 1963 episode of the American sitcom Harry's Girls, which aired on NBC. Marcus began working as an English-language actor in France during the 1970s. He had roles in Woody Allen's Russian-themed comedy Love and Death (1975), as well as in Disney's Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo (1977), both of which were shot in Paris. During the 1980s, he moved into voice acting.
Before his involvement in the "Big Green" dub was confirmed, he was referred to by fans as the "Old Bastard" due to him sounding very aged and poorly voicing a variety of characters. Most of his roles were initially believed to be played by Paul Bandey, another actor who lent his voice in the AB Groupe dub, leading to fans joking that there were actually two "Old Bastards" involved.
Despite his age, AB Groupe also cast him as the voice of the children who bully Goku Jr. in Dragon Ball GT: A Hero's Legacy.[1]
