"I'm not the one who's "through" here... YOU AND YOUR PLANET ARE FINISHED!!!!!" |
Earth Breaker is a last-ditch attack utilized by Frieza in order to detonate the planet he is on.
Overview[]
Frieza presses his palms onto the surface of the planet he is on and then fires an energy blast straight at its core, causing the ground to rupture and streams of magma to erupt, soon resulting in the planet's destruction.
Usage[]
In Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ and Dragon Ball Super, after falling out of his Golden Frieza state and realizing that there was no way for him to defeat Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta, Frieza utilized this technique to destroy the Earth, killing Vegeta and everyone else on Earth, except those who were around Whis during the attack. Just prior to using the attack, Frieza, alluding to his time in Hell, made clear that everyone but himself would be going there. However, Whis was able to rewind time to the moment just before Frieza uses the technique, allowing Goku to finish him off first.
Video Game Appearances[]
- Dragon Ball: Zenkai Battle
- Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle
- Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2
- Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot
- Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero
In Zenkai Battle, it is named Repeating Death Beams in promotions and appears as Frieza's special desperation attack.
In Dokkan Battle, it is named Earth Breaker and is a Super Attack used by various versions of Golden Frieza, some firing the attack as a massive beam of energy with one hand.
In Xenoverse 2, Frieza uses this technique to destroy Earth successfully in the altered timeline due Beerus and Whis being tricked by Towa to leave. However, the Future Warrior brings Beerus and Whis back and stops Frieza's attack, restoring the timeline.
In Sparking! Zero, Golden Frieza uses a Rush Attack variation of this move as his Ultimate Blast. He charges his opponent with a punch to the face, follows up with multiple punches and kicks, then uses a Double Axe Handle to smash them down to the ground. As his opponent reels in pain, Frieza puts his palm on their back and fires the Earth Breaker through their body, causing a massive geyser of energy.
Trivia[]
- This move is much faster at destroying planets than that of Frieza's other techniques and can easily catch unsuspecting opponents off-guard.
- In Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, Frieza was able to retain his Golden Frieza form while executing the technique, unlike the anime and movie where he fell out of his transformation due to his injuries and loss in stamina.
