Dragonball Z[1] is the name of the intro song used in episodes 108-276 of the Ocean/Westwood dub. It was composed by Tom Keenlyside, John Mitchell and David Iris, who also did the background music for the Westwood dub. So far it has not been released on any official CD, although it is available for streaming on the composers official website.

Trivia

  • The song shares the same name as an instrumental Faulconer Productions song, which was used as the intro for Funimation's Dragon Ball Z dub of Seasons 4 to 9. Ironically both misspell "Dragonball", which is meant to be two words instead of a single word.
  • Like the previous Ocean Group intro Rock the Dragon, this opening mainly uses scenes from The Tree of Might.
  • In this opening, Goku can be heard shouting "Solar Flare" as he blasts Turles' henchmen. In The Tree of Might (where the scene originated from), Goku simply used a generic unnamed Ki Blast attack.
  • This opening originated in Canadian broadcasts of the Funimation dub, starting with episode 54 in late 1999. When the Ocean Group resumed dubbing in 2001 for Europe with AB Groupe, the Canadian opening was carried over, becoming synonymous with their dub.[2]
