The Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods Official Movie Guide is a magazine published by Shueisha on March 21, 2013, as a special edition of Weekly Shōnen Jump. It pertains specifically to the movie Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods.
Overview[]
This thirty-six-page special magazine was released one week before the film officially premieres in Japan. This Official Movie Guide contains story and character descriptions, rough sketches drawn by Akira Toriyama for the film, an overview of the whole Dragon Ball story, an exclusive interview with Masako Nozawa and a special interview with Akira Toriyama, and a Battle of Gods poster.[1]
The guide book reveals that Yūsuke Watanabe originally thought of the main antagonist for the film, Beerus, as a very bad guy who infects people with evil and who was the one who made the Saiyan race ruthless.
It also reveals that there originally were many fight scenes of other Z Fighters in Toriyama's original script for the film but, since the movie would have been 120 minutes long with all of them, the production staff decided cut most of them. Those scenes were even included on the storyboard, but they were never animated.
