The two Perfect Files volumes were created by Jump Comics, and originally released on May 24, and December 17, 1997 by Shueisha's Jump Comics Selection imprint. They include information that was not originally revealed in the series, such as transformation and character listings, as well as additional plot details and behind-the-scenes information. They also include illustration galleries, and notes from the series' staff.

The first Perfect Files volume covers the beginning of the series up until the end of the Baby Saga, and contains a look ahead, while the second volume covers the rest of the series and the TV special Dragon Ball GT: A Hero's Legacy.
