Double Buster (ダブルバスター, Daburu Basutā) is a technique used by Trunks.

Overview

First, Trunks brings both his arms to the side of his torso and changes his ki. Then, he extends his arms forward and fires a golden energy wave at the opponent, inflicting a high amount of damage.

Usage and Power

Trunks charges the Double Buster

Trunks uses this attack while facing against his best friend Goten in the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament, calling it "Kikouha" (lit. energy wave). Gohan and Krillin, who are worried of the attack causing chaos in the World Tournament arena, try to prevent Trunks from firing it. Not listening to team, Trunks fires the attack at Goten, who dodges the attack. In the last moment, to the relief of Gohan and Krillin, Trunks guides the attack to avoid hitting the crowd, sending it into the air.

Goku fires a similar attack against Super 17.

Trunks fires the Double Buster in Budokai 2

Double Buster was named in the Budokai series and Dragon Ball Heroes. It is also used in the Butōden series (called "Kikoha"), Dragon Ball Z: The Legend, the Budokai Tenkaichi series and Raging Blast series (called "Full Power Energy Wave"), and Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z (called "Super Energy Blast"). Gotenks can also use the technique in the Budokai Tenkaichi series and Raging Blast series, and in the Budokai series when Trunks initiates the fusion.

Trunks fires his Double Buster in Xenoverse

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse, it appears as one of Kid Trunks' Super Skills. In the game, the blast will chase after the opponent if the command is imputed a second time allowing it to hit the opponent even if the initial blast is dodged. It can also be obtained by the Future Warrior as a reward in Parallel Quest 29: "2nd World Tournament Tag Team".

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, it returns as one of Kid Trunks' Super Skills which can be obtained by the Future Warrior by purchasing it from the Skill Shop in Conton City after completing the Resurrection ‘F’ portion of the main story. Like in Xenoverse, additional input will cause the energy to bend and home in on the opponent making the move functionally similar to the Bending Kamehameha Super Skill. After the 1.09.00 Update, it can be added to Pan's custom skillset after purchasing it in Partner Customization. Pan presumably learned it from Kid Trunks' adult self along with the Final Cannon and Finish Buster which can also be learned through Partner Customization. Additionally, it can also be added to Gotenks' custom skillset after purchasing it for 5 TP Medals in Partner Customization as well. As part of the 1.15.00 Update DLC, after randomly obtaining Customization Unlock Key 2 (SSJ4 Vegeta), Customization Unlock Key 3 (Time Patrol Trunks), & Customization Unlock Key 6 (Tapion) to unlock SSJ4 Vegeta, Time Patrol Trunks, & Tapion in Partner Customization, allowing it to be added to their Custom skillsets after purchasing it in Partner Customization for each of them.
