Defeat Frieza, Goku! The Tears of the Proud Saiyan Prince! (Defeat Frieza, Son Goku! The Proud Vegeta's Tears) is the forty-second episode of Dragon Ball Z Kai. The episode first aired in Japan on January 31, 2010. Its American air date was November 4, 2010.
Plot
Vegeta meets his end at the hands of Frieza
Vegeta's power is significantly weaker than Frieza's, resulting in the tyrant pummeling the Saiyan prince. Piccolo, Gohan, and Krillin are forced to watch as Frieza continues to attack Vegeta, scared to move or interfere. Fortunately, Goku arrives on the battlefield, whose appearance seems very familiar to Frieza (Goku resembles his father, Bardock). When Vegeta states that Goku really is a Super Saiyan, Frieza uses the Death Beam to blast the prince through the heart, only giving him a couple of seconds to live. Before Vegeta dies, he reveals to Goku that it was no asteroid that destroyed Planet Vegeta, but Frieza himself, worrying that a group of Saiyans would eventually overpower him. Goku makes a grave for Vegeta, and buries him, setting his sights on Frieza himself. Goku than prepares for his toughest battle in the series yet.
