Plot[]
Welcome to the Demon Realm[]
In the Demon Realm, Gomah and Degesu, Shin's younger brother, use a magic monitor to witness the key events that occurred when the Earth was invaded by the Organization of Babidi and Majin Buu, learning also of its Dragon Balls and powerful warriors.
Following the deaths of Dabura and Majin Buu, Gomah becomes the new King of the Demon Realm. However, the celebration is short lived when Dr. Arinsu, sister of Degesu, arrives and ponders what could happen should those who defeated Majin Buu invade the Demon Realm.
When Dr. Arinsu leaves, an anxious Gomah has the idea to use the Dragon Balls of Earth to ask Shenron to turn all those involved in Buu's defeat into children, weakening them significantly. For his second wish he decides that he would acquire the Evil Third Eye, a powerful item that grants the user absolute power but became lost during the reign of King Abura. As they begin put their plans into motion, they are unaware of another nearby who overheard their conversation.
Outside of the Demon King Palace, Gomah and Degesu join up with Neva, an elderly Namekian who is the creator of both the Demon Realm Dragon Balls and the Tamagami that guard them. The three enter a spaceship and approach a large fish-like creature allows them to travel to the Outside World. Meeting another small fish-like creature, the trio head towards Earth in Universe 7, finding out that Dr. Arinsu had also previously visited that location for reasons unknown.
Meanwhile at Capsule Corporation, Goku and the others celebrate Trunks' ninth birthday. Goku notices that Shin and Kibito are no longer Kibito Kai. The two explain that when Goku and Vegeta separated from Vegito inside Buu's body, they learnt that Buu's insides produce a type of gas that can nullify the Potara's powers and asked Buu to absorb and spit them out as well. After stuffing themselves, Goku and Vegeta start to fight to burn off the food they ate.
At The Lookout, Dende and Mr. Popo notice the sudden appearance of a spaceship. When the Demon Realm inhabitants leave the ship, they are quick to notice Dende and inform him of his ancestry as a Demon. Gomah demands that the Dragon Balls be brought to him though Dende refuses. So instead, Neva uses his abilities to not only summon all of the Dragon Balls to their location but turns them from stone back into usable artifacts. Dende tries to intervene, but he is struck down by Degesu just prior to him summoning Shenron. Gomah asks the Dragon to turn all those who fought Majin Buu and their friends into children and babies.
The wish is granted as all those at the Capsule Corporation along with Goku and Vegeta in the skies above begin to see a drastic change to their bodies. However, is stunned to learn that he cannot make his two additional wishes. Questioning Shenron on this, the Dragon informs him that such a luxury is only meant for regulars and that first-timers only get one wish instead. With that Shenron takes his leave and an annoyed Gomah complains that if he knew such a thing were going to happen, he would have asked for the Evil Third Eye instead. Moving on, Gomah decides to take the child-like Dende with him so that the Dragon Balls cannot be used on Earth and returns to the Demon Realm.
Meanwhile at Capsule Corporation, after the initial shock of realising what has happened to them, Shin tells Goku of a presence that he sensed at The Lookout. Kibito instantly teleports Goku, Shin and Piccolo over there where Mr. Popo informs them that Dende has been kidnapped by beings from the Demon Realm, one being named Degesu who is Shin' brother. Goku urgently decides to rescue Dende and so Shin commands Kibito to fetch their spaceship back on the Sacred World of the Kai as it is their only means of travelling there. However, after Shin looks it over, he realizes that it no longer turns on. Goku suggests getting Bulma to help fix the ship and so Kibito brings Bulma, as well as Vegeta, with him. Bulma takes a look at the ship, believing that it will take her ten days to fix up.
Two days later, Goku attempts to get used to his new body but is not used to his shorter combat range. He decides to go and fetch his Power Pole which ends up being at Kame House. Later that night while tucking into a feast, a ship appears from out of nowhere and lands. A demon steps out and identifies himself as Glorio before requesting that Goku head back with him to the Demon Realm to help him defeat King Gomah. Shin asks how Glorio knows about Goku who explains that it was the King of the third Demon World, who had watched Goku's battle with Majin Buu that ordered Glorio to seek him out. Shin decides to go along with the two. Before they take off Bulma looks at Glorio's ship for reference which will help her to fix Shin's ship faster. Vegeta also decides to tag along but is unable to due to Glorio's ship limited seating capacity though Shin reminds him that he can join them once Bulma finishes her repairs.
Glorio, Goku and Shin board the ship and take off to their first destination, a Sir Warp located at the Planet Batapi that acts as a transit point between the Outside World and the Demon Realm. After Shin disguises Goku's ears in order for him to be passed off as a Demon and Glorio gives the appropriate pin number, the trio are whisked away though unfortunately Shin is not able to contact Kibito in time to give him the pin number. Inside the relay point between the two realms Glorio explains to Goku that the Demon Realm is made up of three different worlds and they intend to travel to the Third Demon World as it is the only one that he has access to. After being whisked away once again, Goku enters the Demon Realm for the first time.
The Third Demon World[]
Taking in its unique environment, Goku sees the Demon Realm Tunnel that connects the three worlds, which now has a barrier to prevent free travel between them. They also see a large statue of Dabura, floating islands, plants and animals. Goku asks to go outside for some fresh air and so Glorio lands the ship. Goku notices that his movements seem slower which Glorio explains is due to the air being heavy. Shin says that he has never been to the Third Demon World before with Glorio pointing out that him belonging to the Glind, a race that exists in the Second Demon World, would mean that such a sophisticated kind would have had no need to travel there. Just then a band of bandits armed with bow and arrows attack Goku though Glorio is quick to scare them away with his weapon.
Boarding the ship, Glorio heads for a town where they can spend the night before seeing King Kadan the next day. After arriving the trio head for a nearby hotel where the owner attempts to charge them extortionate prices for two rooms until Glorio successfully haggles for a much cheaper price after showing him his holstered weapon. With Goku still being hungry they head for a bar across the street where Goku orders five hamburgers. The local populace take a quick disliking to Goku upon spotting his rounded ears and begin to cause a scene though Glorio and then Goku easily deal with them.
The next morning after leaving the hotel, the small group make for Glorio's plane only to find it missing with a note now in its place attached to an axe. With no other choice they make their way on foot as flying is made too difficult due to the air being too heavy for long distance flights. After arriving upon the Sea of Darkness, they decide to make the short trip over it by air. Suddenly a winged beast emerges and tries to eat Goku who just manages to avoid it. Glorio decides to handle the beast himself, avoiding its fire balls and getting in close to deliver a mighty kick which sends the beast crashing back into the sea.
The trio continue onward until Goku senses an ambush lying in wait. A giant demon appears from behind a boulder and tries to hit Goku with a club but he easily avoids it and takes him out with a single kick. Afterwards Glorio questions how Goku knew that he was there to which he tells him that he sensed his Ki, an invisible type of energy and a concept that Glorio had never heard about before.
They later reach a tea shop and decide to take a break. Glorio asks the owner for a plane though he does not have one and instead offers a Sky Seed which will take them in their intended direction. Goku browses the shops wares taking particular interest in the Medi Bugs, a set of different bugs which offer varying abilities and asks Glorio to purchase a set for him. At the Sky Seed boarding platform the shop owners bring out the Sky Seed. The three board the unusual vehicle and after its leaf is pulled they are shot off into the air. With no means of control, the trio quickly jump off at the last second lest they fall into the sea.
Walking on, Goku asks about the Dragon Balls of the Demon Realm with Glorio telling him that they protected by one of the three Tamagami. Goku notes that if they were to obtain the Dragon Balls then they could wish for everyone to be grownups again which Glorio thinks is a worthwhile idea.
After heading into the next town, the group spot the townsfolk gathered together in front of the Gendarmerie, the military police under the rule of King Gomah. The Gendarmerie demand higher offerings from the locals and threaten to steal years of their remaining life span if they come up short. Just as Goku is about to intervene, a masked figure intrudes and throws a Wasabi Bomb which fails to make the required impact. As they attempt to flee, the Gendarmerie grabs hold of them but Goku enters the conflict and using his Power Pole saves the individual and takes out many of the police.
Beginning to cause too much of a scene, Goku, Glorio and Shin make a swift escape to the outskirts of the town where they once again meet the masked individual who reveals her identity. Panzy asks Goku how he is so strong despite being a child and he responds by telling her that he simply trains. The three begin to head off with Goku accidentally letting slip that they are on the way to Kadan Castle and so Panzy invites herself along despite Glorio's request for her not to follow.
After exchanging names, Panzy asks Goku what magic he is good at and demonstrates her ability to lift a small rock though states that her real speciality is with machine tinkering. The small group continue to make conversation as they take a shortcut on their journey, discussing the cruelty of the Gendarmeries and King Gomah. Panzy reveals that she is 82 years old, quite young for her kind who live to be up to 1,000 years and much to Goku's surprise that she is actually older than he is.
Eventually the four reach Kadan Castle where Panzy reveals herself to be the Princess and daughter of King Kadan. Heading inside, they meet with the King who becomes annoyed that Glorio has merely brought along children when he had been promised warriors strong enough to have defeated the great Majin Buu. Shin explains that they were turned into children by Gomah and they are currently planning to acquire the three Dragon Balls from the Tamagami. Unable to truly believe Goku is as powerful as he is being made out to be the King puts him through a demonstration where he must face off against his soldiers all at once. With little effort and not receiving so much as a scratch, Goku takes down the horde of soldiers.
Later that evening, Kadan's men load equipment on to the Demon Realm Plane that Kadan has provided so that they can make their trip. Shin asks the King if there is a way that he can help their friends make the trip to the Demon Realm. The King calls forth Hybis and asks that he go and retrieve their friends and bring them over. Panzy appears wanting to go along with Goku as she desires to see Gomah get taken down. Boarding the ship and saying their farewells, Glorio takes off with a planned four day trip to the Dragon Ball. However mere moments after having taken to the air the engine begins to sputter and the ship crash lands.
Fortunately for the group there was no major damage, and they just needed to lighten the plane's load. As Goku heads off to defecate, Glorio notices a Gendarmerie plane flying overhead. The officers in it fly down towards them and the officers ask the group what world they're from. Glorio says he's from the first, Shin says he's from the second and Panzy begrudgingly reveals the collar on her neck, signifying she's from the third. The officers ask if they've seen Goku, and Glorio says they haven't. Satisfied, the officers leave right as Goku returns from the bushes. With the plane fully functional, the group continue flying.
As night falls, Glorio decides it's best for them to rest and heads to a nearby cave. Goku falls asleep first while the rest have a chat. Panzy asks if Glorio was really from the First Demon World, which he confirms stating that he was hired for work there. Shin asks Glorio why he wants to defeat Gomah, with the mercenary responding that Gomah makes Majin suffer. Later in the night when everyone else has fallen asleep, Glorio steps outside to contact his employer Dr. Arinsu. He updates her that things are working out, and they should arrive to the First Demon World in a few days. Dr. Arinsu requests that Glorio contact her if anything happens.
In the early morning, Shin and Glorio are awakened by trembling footsteps. Goku and Panzy are woken up as a giant Minotaur arrives. Glorio offers to take on the Minotaur, but Goku chimes in saying he'll fight it. Glorio thinks Goku is being arrogant, believing that he's stronger than him. Goku and Glorio end up having their own sparring match. Goku ups the ante by stating he'll fight using only one arm. The battle begins with Goku and Glorio trading blows and dodging each other's moves. Goku watches as Glorio lifts his finger and a white ball of energy emerges with purple thunder starts to spark from it. He launches the attack as Goku dodges, leaving a smoking crater in the ground. Shin yells to Goku that he must fight more seriously, and that he wants to see powerful Glorio is. Goku agrees to this and brings out the Power Pole.
Goku flies towards Glorio, dodging all of his lightning blasts. The Power Pole extends, hitting Glorio in the stomach and sending him flying into a nearby rockface. Glorio responds, launching electric like whip which knocks the Power Pole out of Goku's hands. As Glorio charges an even stronger blast, Goku transforms into his Super Saiyan form. Glorio fires his blast but Goku effortlessly blocks it with one finger. Goku teleports behind Glorio, putting his hand behind his back. Glorio gives up, stating that Goku wins. The Minotaur tries to sneak away, but Goku notices, stating that he's ready to fight now. Intimidated, Minotaur says that he already ate a beast the night before and retreats back into the cave.
Back on Earth, Bulma finishes repairing Shin's plane and Vegeta, Piccolo and Kibito prepare to leave for the Demon Realm. However the plane's alarms go off and it crashes back down to the Lookout. Bulma looks over it to see what has gone wrong with it, realising that she requires a specific mineral for the planes energy converter that is not native to the planet Earth. Just when matters seem hopeless, another Demon Realm Plane appears. Hybis steps out claiming that he has been sent by his King to fetch them. Kibito stays behind at The Lookout while Bulma, Vegeta and Piccolo head to the Demon Realm.
Meanwhile Goku and company continue their journey when they are suddenly approached by the Gendarmerie who demand that they land the plane. Glorio does so and Goku heads towards the back to hide. The Gendamerie search in hopes of finding Goku but are unable to as he uses Instant Transmission to appear behind Panzy and rushes off to go and hide in the bushes. Despite being unable to find Goku, the Gendamerie order Panzy to go along with them, suspecting her of being the masked individual who attacked them before. When they try to force her to go with them, Panzy tazes one of them, causing the others to rush in to attack. Glorio and Shin fend them off, however Gendamerie planes attack and heavily damages the plane piloted by Glorio.
After Glorio, Shin and Goku take out almost all of the Gendamerie's planes, they spot an intact one nearby which they decide to use instead. Before embarking Panzy voices her frustrations about the Magic Collar around her neck and the reason why they were able to be found once again. Shin points out that his sister is likely the one responsible for fitting all of the Third Demon World's inhabitants with the collar and notes that due to him also being part of the same race, he should be able to use his abilities to remove it which he promptly does. An extremely grateful Panzy asks her savior for his original name to which he replies "Nahara". Though Goku prefers to simply call him the Supreme Kai.
Sometime later, they arrive at a small village where the Tamagami is located, Goku heads to see him being told by Panzy that this particular Tamagami is known as Tamagami Number Three. Before challenging him, Goku decides to eat and use the bathroom first. While eating Goku is told more about the Tamagami, including that he was previously challenged by Dabura who failed to defeat him. Raring to go, Goku returns to the Tamagami who asks if he seeks the Demon Realm Dragon Ball. After confirming that he is, the two prepare to face one another.
After accepting Goku's challenge, Tamagami Number Three wastes no time in charging at him. While Goku uses his Power Pole and the Tamagami uses his Warhammer, the two appear to be evenly matched as a crowd rushes over to watch the battle. After receiving too much pressure from the Tamagami's Warhammer, Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan and proceeds to break the Tamagami's weapon in half. With his opponent now disarmed, Goku puts his Power Pole away back into its sheathe and the two continue their battle. The two still fight on equal terms but after landing a Kamehameha and a Heavy Finish as a Super Saiyan 2, the Tamagami surrenders.
However before he is able to claim the Dragon Ball, the Tamagami challenges him to a shell game. After shuffling the cups around, Goku notices that the Tamagami threw the Dragon Ball away at the end, winning the challenge. As the crowd celebrates, Glorio secretly contacts Dr. Arinsu and tells her what happened. After re-boarding the plane, Goku's group start to make their way to Sir Warp to travel to the Second Demon World. Meanwhile, Gomah and Degesu review footage of Vegeta's first battle with Majin Buu and notice Dr. Arinsu in the background collecting some of Buu's residue after he had been blown to pieces by Vegeta.
Elsewhere, Dr. Arinsu visits a witch named Marba who was responsible for creating Majin Buu at Bibidi's request. Using the fragment of Majin Buu that Dr. Arinsu collected she attempts to make a a new creature for her, one that unlike Majin Buu prior, can be controlled. Believing her work to be about done, she takes the cauldron outside. Dr. Arinsu adds her saliva to make the creature loyal and gloats that she will soon overthrow Gomah to rule the Demon Realm, and if she fails her pawns are collecting the Dragon Balls to ensure it.
Back in the Third Demon World, Kadan contacts Hybis, Bulma, Vegeta and Piccolo to tell them of Goku's achievement and to meet them near the Sir Warp when they arrive in a couple days time.

Video Game Appearances[]
- Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot (DLC)
A scenario based on Dragon Ball Daima was added to Kakarot beginning with its seventh DLC add-on titled "Adventure through the Demon Realm - Part 1".
Trivia[]
- The Daima Saga begins on Trunks' ninth birthday. Trunks was born sometime in Age 766 making it so that this saga takes place sometime in Age 775, not that long after the wish was made to make the populace of Earth forget about Majin Buu as the Dragon Balls are still made of stone.
- Although the saga initially was developed with the direct participation of Akira Toriyama, his death shortly before the anime's premiere technically makes it his first posthumous saga in the franchise.
