"I am Dabura. I am the demon king! I don't care how many kilis of energy they have. There is no one in the universe who can exceed my power!" |
Dabura (ダーブラ Dābura) is the King of the Demon Realm. Existing for thousands of years, Dabura was a demon king placed under the wizard Babidi's control by a powerful spell, becoming his right-hand man before the appearance of Majin Buu and thus doing his bidding.[8]
Dabura is a secondary antagonist in the Majin Buu Saga.
Appearance[]
Dabura's appearance greatly resembles the traditional depiction of Satan/Lucifer in terms of his red skin, goatee, horns, large, pointed ears, and animalistic yellow eyes. However, there are several changes to this iconic look: Dabura wears a light blue suit which covers his entire body minus his musclebound chest, along with a white spiked cape, a white circular belt, and white boots.
Personality[]
Dabura's personality, while very sadistic in terms of his battle actions and methods of disposing of enemies, is also very sophisticated and well-mannered, speaking in a very articulate fashion, even complimenting the talents of his opponents with his deep, booming voice. When controlled by Babidi, Dabura stays completely loyal to his master, but does not always agree with every step Babidi takes and is not afraid to question his master's actions if they seem impractical or a disadvantage to their plans. As such, although he first underestimated Innocent Buu, after experiencing the monster's power firsthand, he realized the former was too powerful to control and would eventually destroy both him and Babidi, which he deduced correctly. Later, in the anime, Dabura's personality completely changes when he enters Heaven and sees actual loving concern from Videl for Gohan's safety back on Earth, coming to the conclusion he wishes to be loved in a similar way and make friends. In addition, when he is revived by Goku in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, he has taken to becoming a pacifist and is reluctant to spar with him.
Though little is known of him prior to falling under Babidi's control, he was noted by Panzy to have been bad, suggesting he was a tyrannical ruler of the Demon Realm. However, Panzy added that Gomah was far worse than Dabura with the new laws Gomah implemented to drain the lives of citizens who couldn't pay coins for offerings, indicating that while Dabura was evil, he was not excessively sadistic and cruel towards his subjects.
In Dragon Ball Heroes and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Dabura is shown to have a good relationship with his younger sister, whom he has shown to care for in a big brotherly fashion. In the DLC content of Xenoverse 2, his motivations to alter history was in the name of avenging Towa, reversing the roles from the original campaign of both Xenoverse games. Prior to Fu's betrayal, Dabura seemed to hold him in high regards, to the point of stating Fu is the rightful successor as king of the Demon Realm.
Biography[]
Background[]
At some point prior to encountering the wizard Babidi, Dabura attempted to gather the three Demon Realm Dragon Balls. However he was unable to retrieve them from its guardians the Tamagami, challenging but ultimately unsuccessful in defeating Tamagami Number Three.[9]
It was at some point during Dabura's reign as Supreme Demon King that Dr. Arinsu fitted all of the inhabitants of the Third Demon World with Magic Collars against their will. Whether this was Dabura's idea and if so, the reason behind doing such a thing, is unknown.[9]
According to the Daizenshuu guidebooks, Dabura is taken under Babidi's mind control in Age 474 and sends one of his underlings to investigate the Earth, as that is where Buu's egg is. The underling finds that there are no warriors on Earth with high power levels.[10] Dabura was given the task of recruiting people into Babidi's organization.[11] In Dragon Ball Daima, it is instead indicated that Babidi gained control over Dabura only shortly before his attempt to revive Buu on Earth, as Dabura had not been missing from the Demon King Palace for long.[12]
Dragon Ball Z[]
World Tournament Saga[]
Dabura is first seen when Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Piccolo and Krillin are led to Babidi's Spaceship by Kibito and Shin to aid them in preventing Majin Buu's awakening. After killing Yamu and Spopovich and gathering the energy they stole from Gohan, Babidi and Dabura become aware of the Dragon Team hiding in the mountains nearby. Dabura notes that there's seven of them and, even if they can't use Shin or Kibito's energy, three of the others have great strength. As it takes a massive amount of energy to awaken Majin Buu, Babidi decides to use theirs and is glad that the Majin will be revived sooner than they thought. Dabura is ordered to kill all but the strongest three, and lure the remainder inside the ship, who will be desperate to avenge their fallen comrades. The evil wizard also specifically orders Dabura to spare the Supreme Kai, as he personally wishes to finish him off for murdering his father, which the demon understands and agrees with. Babidi and Pui Pui then retreat inside of the ship.
Following his order, Dabura quickly charges toward the group, despite them hiding their Ki. With a single blast, he kills Kibito, still grinning while he does so. In the anime, Goku and Vegeta charge Dabura in an attempt to stop him but they underestimate him and do not even bother to transform into Super Saiyans, and the demon easily fends off their attacks. He then quickly leaps in the air and spits on Piccolo and Krillin, quickly turning them into stone, with Shin explaining the only way they can turn back to normal is if Dabura dies. Dabura then retreats back into Babidi's spaceship, telling the brave Saiyans to wander into their domain if they dare.
Dabura joins Babidi in a monitoring room and watches as the Z Fighters and Shin enter the spaceship, being greeted by Pui Pui at level one. Babidi injects the Energy-Suction Device into the Sealed Ball containing Majin Buu. Babidi, however, ends up getting a shock, as the single injection has given them almost half the energy, they need to revive Majin Buu. He starts to wonder if maybe he was a bit too hasty in eliminating Spopovich and Yamu, but Dabura reassures him that the energy of the fools they lured into the ship will finish the job and Majin Buu will be revived by the end of the day. Babidi, reassured, flies back up to see if Pui Pui had finished yet, but is taken aback because the fighting hasn't even started yet.
After winning a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors with Goku and Gohan, Vegeta gets to fight first and challenges Pui Pui. Dabura believes that Vegeta has no idea what he is in for. He is quickly proven wrong, as it becomes obvious that Pui Pui is no match for Vegeta, surprising both Dabura and Babidi. Babidi asks Dabura where Pui Pui would fight at his best, and the demon king replies that it would be his homeworld, Planet Zoon. Knowing Pui Pui needs an edge, Babidid uses his magic to transport them to Pui Pui's home world of Zoon, which has a gravity 10x higher than that of Earth. However, Vegeta is unaffected by this and easily kills Pui Pui, allowing them to proceed to level two. Shocked, Babidi asks Dabura why there are such strong warriors on Earth. Dabura says that when they investigated the planet 300 years ago, no one this strong ever existed, which worries Babidi. Dabura reassuringly states that they still have three more levels to pass before they reach them, and even if they succeed, they'll still have to deal with him.
Next, Dabura asks Babidi who he wants fighting on Level Two and Babidi tells him he'll use Yakon. Shocked, Dabura says it may be too soon to use him. Babidi says he must be cautious now, since it seems they can't underestimate these Earthlings, who easily killed Pui Pui. Dabura understands and says he is only worried that he'll never get to have any fun if they send Yakon out, but Babidi lectures him that awakening Majin Buu from his long sleep is much more important than fun. Dabura apologizes and sends a low-ranking soldier to fetch Yakon.
At level two, Yakon faces off against Goku and nearly manages to slash the Saiyan with his claws. Babidi believes Goku is afraid and plans to frighten him even more. The wizard praises Yakon, and tells him to kill everyone except Shin and take their energy. To end things quickly, Babidi sends them to Yakon's homeworld, planet Ankoku. Dabura is amused, but doubts Yakon requires such an advantage to defeat them, however, Babidi says he doesn't want the ship to take a great shock during the fight and accidentally have Majin Buu be revived at less than full power, which the demon king agrees with.
Goku, despite some surprise at the new environment, easily beats Yakon around. Goku explains that he can feel and sense out Yakon's movements without even needing to see. Nevertheless, Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan, lighting up the surrounding area. Babidi wonders what happened, saying his appearance is different from before, but Dabura thinks he's just glowing. Babidi tells a nearby henchman to go get him the strongest Energy Meter they have. The device says Goku has a reading of 3,000 Kilis, much to wizard's disbelief. Dabura says a race with a 3,000 kili reading should not exist and, in the anime, says that 300 Kilis is enough to destroy a planet. Babidi considers that the device is malfunctioning, but if it's right, Yakon doesn't stand a chance, as his energy is only 800 kili.
Yakon proceeds to suck in Goku's energy, making him revert to his base form. However, Goku sees right through the technique, and allows Yakon to suck in another batch of light energy. Babidi yells at Yakon that he's stupid to be sucking up the energy, instead of inflicting damage so that the energy can be absorbed by Majin Buu. Goku then suddenly increases his energy and Yakon sucks it all up, until he gets too large and explodes. This allows the group to proceed to Level Three. In disbelief, Babidi can't believe Yakon exploded, but Dabura says he was just a fool to eat more light energy than he could handle. Babidi disagrees, because of the way that Yakon swelled up near the end. A nervous Babidi admits that they are far stronger than he expected. Dabura volunteers to handle Level Three personally and gather the energy need for Majin Buu's revival. Babidi worries about Dabura losing and asks if he has a plan. Dabura reminds him that as the king of the Demon Realm, no one can stand up to his power.
In the anime, prior to fighting, Dabura enters a meditation room in order to focus his energy ready for battle. In the manga however he does no such thing.
While they wait for the next fighter, Goku asks Gohan if he has trained enough, since his turn is next. Vegeta says that Gohan has gotten weaker in these times of peace and that he and Goku are stronger than him now. Although Vegeta believes if he were to lose his temper like with Cell, then Gohan could release his full power. Suddenly, the door begins to open and Dabura enters the room. Dabura praises them on defeating Yakon and making it to Level Three but doubts they can defeat him. Vegeta tauntingly says Babidi must be getting desperate to send him out so soon. Dabura simply chuckles and tells them all to attack, but Gohan says that he'll be the one to defeat Dabura and demands that Babidi transport them somewhere else. Dabura is outraged, but Babidi reminds him they can't risk damaging their ship from their fight. The demon king replies that he wishes to fight on a world similar to Earth, as he doesn't want any unfair advantages. They are transported to an unknown world with a mountainous range and engage in battle.
Though initially it seems that Gohan and Dabura are even, Goku corrects himself and states that Dabura might be stronger than he once thought, with his usage of magic and several tricks, such as the Afterimage Strike and several unique attacks which managed to surprise and damage Gohan during the battle.
Eventually, in frustration for not beating Gohan yet, Dabura materializes his Darkness Sword and attempts to strike the half-Saiyan. However, Gohan manages to catch the sword by his hands and snap it in half, making Dabura even more frustrated. During his battle with Gohan, Dabura takes notice of Vegeta's poor temperament and his one-track mind for settling things with Goku, which gives Dabura an idea. Dabura then retreats from the fight with Gohan in order to inform Babidi of Vegeta's evil in his heart. Babidi quickly takes advantage of that information and possesses Vegeta, when this was actually what Vegeta wanted all along, so he would gain a greater power and finally defeat Goku.
With Vegeta refusing to kill Shin and Gohan (stating that they are of no interest to him) and now battling Goku, Dabura stands with Babidi to fight against Shin and Gohan. Before they can start though, they are all shocked as the energy released from Vegeta and Goku's battle has already been enough to release Majin Buu, as both fighters were fighting at Super Saiyan 2, the form thought to be the pinnacle of Super Saiyan states at the time.
Dabura and Babidi are then confronted by Gohan and Shin, now preparing to stop Buu's resurrection once and for all. When Gohan fires multiple Electric Kamehameha at the sealed ball, Dabura grabs his master from the blast's range and jumps away, saving his master's life.
Majin Buu Saga[]
Originally thought to be dead, after several minutes of waiting, Buu finally emerges in a puff of large smoke. After Majin Buu has emerged, Dabura is surprised, and less than pleased with Buu, as it seems the fat being is nothing more than a useless imbecile, due to his childish personality and appearance. Majin Buu overhears this remark and attacks Dabura, quickly gouging him in the eyes, and then kicking him into a mountain, leaving him broken, pleasing Babidi. Dabura does manage to recover somewhat though and throws a magical spear through Majin Buu, much to the frustration of Babidi.
He tries to convince Babidi that Majin Buu is uncontrollable and should be contained again, but Babidi refuses to comply, and then tells him that he was nothing more than a pawn in the bigger plan, and like all pawns, regardless of its loyalty or efficiency, should be tossed away when not needed anymore, much to Dabura's surprise and hurt. Majin Buu then retaliates against Dabura under Babidi's orders, turning him into a large cookie and eating him. This in turn reverses what he did to Piccolo and Krillin, restoring them to normal.
While in King Yemma's office in Other World, Goku is told of how Dabura came in not too long ago. A flashback shows Dabura held by ogres as King Yemma chooses to punish him by sending him to Heaven because, being a demon, Dabura would have enjoyed Hell.[13] This is the final mention of Dabura in the manga, but he makes several more appearances in the anime where the punishment backfires as Dabura enjoys Heaven anyway, but he at least repents for his previous evil ways. The M is still on Dabura's forehead while in King Yemma's office but, just like Vegeta, he loses it after King Yemma judged him.
In the anime, Dabura is seen content in Heaven, repenting of his previous sins and looking back on them with remorse. He accompanies Bulma, Chi-Chi and Videl in their search for Gohan in Other World. He is consumed with joy and love, which unnerves everybody near him.
Dabura is last seen in Heaven with a wreath of flowers around his head picking flowers in a bouquet wandering around Heaven. After Chi-Chi, Bulma, and Videl are resurrected, Dabura lamented on how could not join them but is content with everything. Ironically enough, despite having become a pure soul himself in these anime filler episodes, he is not shown revived with all the innocent souls who were killed by Buu and the other villains. Vegeta specified that the most evil ones be kept dead when making the wish, which could have left Dabura dead (Vegeta suggests that the reason he made this specification was so that villains such as Babidi and Dabura would not return).
Dragon Ball Daima[]
Daima Saga[]
After Dabura's absence, Gomah and Degesu used their Magic Monitor to see where Dabura went and what became of him. They are shocked to see that Dabura had fallen under Babidi's spell and had been killed by Majin Buu. Learning of Dabura's demise and Majin Buu's defeat, Gomah takes Dabura's title as the King of the Demon Realm.[14]
Dragon Ball Super[]
"Future" Trunks Saga[]
When Goku and Krillin were sent into a forest to retrieve a special herb for Master Roshi, an illusion of Dabura and many other villains from the Z-Fighters' past show up to challenge the duo. Even though Krillin did not die from it, having remembered getting turned to stone by him years prior, Dabura's illusion was one of four that terrified Krillin the most, with the others being Tambourine, Frieza, and Super Buu.
Dragon Ball GT[]
Shadow Dragon Saga[]
Dabura appears in Vegeta's flashback.[15]
Other Dragon Ball stories[]
Dragon Ball SD[]
Dabura appears in the fourth chapter along with Babidi. Both are eaten by Majin Buu when the latter is released from the Sealed Ball.
Dokkan Battle[]
In the dimensionally distorted timeline of Age ??? he is possessed by Babidi like in the main series. However, due to his absence from Demon Realm forces Shula to act unofficially as the King of Demon Realm in Age ???'s timeline. Eventually in Age ??? the barrier that separates Demon Realm from the rest of the universe is removed by the dimensional distortion allowing Shula, Melee, Gola to search Earth for Dabura so they can have him return as the true King of Demon Realm. However, Melee and Gola want to seek Goku's help due to their unfamiliarity with Earth, but Shula refuses out of pride. This leads to them confronting King Kai's Time Patrol consisting of Future Trunks and his unseen partner (the player). Unaware of their past relationship with Goku, Future Trunks fights and defeats the pair before Shula appears to stop Melee and Gola from seeking help from mortal humans. After fighting with Shula, he leaves with Gola and Melee to continue the search for Dabura. Later when the Time Patrol confronts the Organization of Babidi alongside Grand Supreme Kai and the Dragon Team, Future Trunks realizes that Dabura is the Demon King that Shula, Melee, and Gola were searching for. Dabura assists his master in gather enough energy to unseal Kid Buu from the Sealed Ball. Dabura questions if Kid Buu is the legendary Majin Buu, though Babidi notes Grand Supreme Kai is the only one present that can do so which he does before being absorbed by the Majin who transforms into a weaker version of Innocent Buu due to the absence of South Supreme Kai. Unlike the main series, Dabura is not killed by either incarnation of Majin Buu.
Xenoverse[]
Though he does not appear physically in Xenoverse, his sister Towa does appear and is one of the central villains in the game along with her creation Mira. Dabura is mentioned by the Chronoa when talking about Towa's origins, referring to her as the sister of the Demon King Dabura. Also, according to Chronoa, Towa desires revenge on Majin Buu for the death of her brother, though interestingly Towa does not alter the point in history where her brother was killed by Majin Buu. Dabura's Clothes also appear as an outfit that can be worn by the Future Warrior, though due to it exposing their chest, females wear an additional black top underneath to cover their chest.
Xenoverse 2[]
- Infinite History Saga
It is revealed that when Towa appeared in the Time Nest she altered the history where Majin Buu turns Dabura into a cookie and eats him resulting in his death, and secretly releases him before covering up her deed with magic in hopes the Time Patrollers would not notice. Dabura secretly increases his power after this through Damage Energy, waiting for the moment to exact vengeance after the death of Towa. It is implied that Dabura sought vengeance on the Time Patrol for their role in his sister's death as it had been the defeat of the Masked Saiyan that lead to Bardock being freed as well as the fact the Future Warrior did not prevent Mira from absorbing Towa (whom they had allied with to stop Villainous Mode Mira from self destructing due to exceeding his power limiter) and the fact that in killing Mira they killed Towa as well.
Free from his original fate but still possessing the Demon mark, Dabura goes into a Time Rift and observes the battle between Super Vegito and Super Buu until he is noticed by Vegito, who notes that Dabura has been hiding his true power, and asks him to fight, Dabura does so and releases some of his power to participate in the battle between Vegito and Buu. When the Future Warrior arrives Dabura is forced to fight them. Dabura is still holding back his true power and tells the Supreme Kai of Time he will make her pay ten-fold for what she did to his sister Towa, before leaving to another timespace.
After this Dabura loses his Demon mark from being under Babidi's possession. He starts creating Time Rifts separate from the Book of the Beginning and the End, freely manipulating history all for the purpose of fueling Fu with time rift energy. He kidnaps Chronoa after having arrived in Conton City and petrifying all of its inhabitants, turning them into stone including Old Kai, Future Trunks, and the original Future Warrior. After Dabura is defeated, he is turned to stone after lashing out at Fu, who deflects his Stone Spit.
Legends[]
Dabura from at some point after being enslaved by Babidi before his death, is dragged into the Tournament of Time. During Shallot's search for Dr. Gero after his alliance with Frieza and Turles fell apart due to Super Saiyan Shallot defeating them, Dabura interrupts Shallot's fight with one of the Android 19s, turning the Android to stone to prevent it from interfering as it is of no use to Dabura due to the Android's lack of Ki and by extension Kili. However, Shallot has lots of Kili and Dabura decides to harvest his though is forced to use Stone Spit after Shallot puts up a fight. Unfortunately, Shallot's old ally the mysterious magic user and swordsman, Zahha is able to use his magic to reverse the petrification on Shallot. Dabura suspects Zahha is a member of the Demon Realm Race like himself, but Zahha refutes it saying he's at the wrong end of the stick. Zahha realizes Dabura is holding back and points out it is useless for him to continue as Zahha can undo his petrification leaving them in.stalemate. Dabura notes how Zahha has a lot of Kili too and decides to leave them alone for the time being, preferring to harvest their energy at a more opportune time.
Scheming to create conflict to gather more Kili, after turning her to stone he gives Android 18 to Cell on the condition he run the Super Cell Games after achieving his Perfect form. Unbeknownst to Cell, Dabura is working for Babidi and acts a go-between for the Organization of Babidi supplying Cell with Cooler and Boujack to act as his teammates as the Super Cell Games is a team battle royale due to the number of fighters participating in the Tournament of Time. Cooler is ultimately killed by Cell for attempting to blow up with Earth and Boujack is badly injured by Android 16's Last Resort though manages to survive, Cell is ultimately defeated by post-Cell Games Super Saiyan 2 Gohan (Youth) and Super Saiyan 2 Shallot.
Like in the main timeline, Dabura is ultimately betrayed by Babidi in favor of Majin Buu who kills him much like he did during the Majin Buu conflict, though this sends Dabura back to his own era with no memory of the two tournaments.
Kakarot[]
In the post-game, Goku revives Dabura, seeking a friendly battle. Much to his surprise, Dabura has changed his ways since his time in Heaven and spoke his regrets to Goku for following Babidi's orders, though Babidi's Majin emblem on his forehead has returned for unknown reasons. In order to spar with the reformed Dabura, Goku offers to pay him with some of Mr. Satan's money for their battle, convincing him to use the money to do good in the world. After their fight, Dabura requests Goku use the money he promised the Demon King as a donation to charity due to Dabura himself having no need for it, the Saiyan in turn promising to make good on that request.
Power[]
- Manga and Anime
Dabura's strength prior to becoming a Majin is unknown, but it is stated by Shin that even before Babidi took control of him, Dabura was the strongest being in the Demon Realm and both Shin and Kibito were both nervous at the thought of facing him with the evil wizard. Before encountering Majin Buu, Dabura himself believed there was no one in the universe that could match his power. Despite this, according to Panzy he previously fought against and was unable to defeat Tamagami Number Three.
After becoming a Majin, Dabura's power is allegedly in the same league as Cell, as Goku believes him to be as strong as the Bio-Android.[16] Vegeta and Goku (who have both attained Super Saiyan 2 with superior power to Gohan's at that level) were unimpressed by him and both believed that they could individually defeat Dabura as long as they can avoid his Stone Spit. Upon watching Dabura fight and seeing his magic, Goku corrected himself, noting that the Demon King was way stronger than originally believed, though Vegeta noted that he was still an opponent that he or Goku could deal with. In the anime, Dabura manages to have a slight upper hand during the battle with Gohan until he transforms into a Super Saiyan 2, though soon after Dabura releases his true power, evening the battle between them. However, it was noted that Gohan was nowhere near as strong as he was when he defeated Cell from lack of training during the past seven years. In both the manga and anime, when he has to face Gohan again, Dabura stated to Babidi that there was no doubt that he could actually defeat Gohan with little trouble based on their previous fight, considering him trash. However, it was said by Goku that if Gohan were to get angry and release his true power like he used against Cell, he would be capable of defeating Dabura. Later on, Dabura is shown to be outclassed by the power of Majin Buu.
In the anime only, Dabura states that even a kili of 4,000 cannot defeat him, implying that Goku can not defeat him as a Super Saiyan (as his power is 3,000 kili).
- Statements by authors and guidebooks
Dabura has the greatest power in the Demon Realm, his battle power is equal to Cell's though he has the addition of magic skill.[10]
- Video games
In Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2, it is implied that Dabura is around Super Perfect Cell's power level or slightly higher, which is presumably a reference to his being able to fight a rusty Gohan as a Super Saiyan 2 and Goku's statements that compare him to Cell.
In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 when Dabura appears during Super Vegito's battle with Super Buu (Gohan absorbed), Vegito notes that Dabura has been hiding his true power all this time, with Dabura revealing it to confidently fight Vegito. Dabura's huge increase in power leads Old Kai to believe he might be a match for Majin Buu. Later when confronted in the Crack of Time Dabura reveals he has been absorbing large amounts of Damage Energy from the changes to time, though he knows that even with this power he will not be able to beat the Future Warrior and their master, and so calls in Demigra for assistance.
In World Mission, the game world Dabura gains the ability to use Dark Magic to grant the 2nd stage Villainous Mode power-up due a game world anomaly. This allows Dabura to power up himself and Babidi's other minions. Together with Spopovich and Yamu, Dabura invades Hero Town in the real world in search of two powerful Kili readings which turn out to be Beat and Note who's real world power levels have skyrocketed due to using their Hero Switches to physically combat the anomalies within the game world using the forms of their Hero Avatars. Great Saiyaman 3 confronts Dabura and his underlings who are empowered with Villainous Mode and manages to hold his own thanks to his suit which allows him to use game world abilities in the real world. However, Dabura states fighting more seriously breaking through the Hero Master's guard and attacking him with Stone Spit which he barely manages to dodge, as Dabura's attack had slowed him down considerably. Spopovich ultimately grabs the Hero Master and Yamu uses Majin Buu Resurrection to steal Great Saiyaman 3's energy with his Energy-Suction Device, with Dabura retreating with them back to the game world, as Dabura does not wish to keep his master Babidi waiting. In the extra dimensional space that Dabura fled into the Organization of Babidi and the Kashvar wizard Hoi spring their trap to free Hirudegarn from Tapion and Minotia having planned to trick the Heroes into fighting the brothers to weaken then. However, the Heroes join forces with the brothers to prevent Hirudegarn's return forcing Hoi to have Dabura and his men fulfill his end of their bargain by apprehending the brothers. However, Beat, Note, Tapion, and Minotia are able to defeat the villains who resort to using Villainous Mode again causing the Hero Master to realize Dabura was holding back the true power of his Villainous Mode during their fight. Despite Hirudegarn's escape due to resonating with the dark ki of Villainous Mode which allows the phantom beast to fully transform after being made whole. However, the Heroes, Tapion, and Minotia are able to defeat the villains and kill Hirudegarn. Dabura however finds the idea of him being defeated by second-rate Time Patrollers laughable and flees with Spopovich and Yanh leaving Hoi behind.
During the Organization of Babidi's second attack on Hero Town, Dabura is sent with Spopovich and Yamu to gather energy in Hero Town and help the brainwashed SDBH player Kabra to eliminate local SDBH players in order to prevent the Heroes from gathering more Hero Switch-compatible allies, forcing the Heroes to utilize a new Hero Switch feature to gain the power to fight in the real world. Dabura confronts Great Saiyaman 3 and his team which includes Beat's new costumes identity as Great Saiyaman 4. Together with his teammates, Great Saiyaman 4 defeats Villainous Mode Dabura causing Kabra to insult Dabura as a weakling for his failure.

- Villainous Mode
In World Mission, the game world Dabura is granted the ability to use Dark Magic to power-up himself, Pui Pui, Spopovich, and Yamu with 2nd stage Villainous Mode due to a game world anomaly. The dark ki produced by the power up also resonates with the sealed halves of Hirudegarn freeing it from Tapion and Minotia while the game world Organization of Babidi was allied with the game world Hoi.
In Xenoverse 2 Extra Pack 1 DLC, Dabura utilizes the fourth stage power up version with gives him glowing pink eyes and a dark black-white aura.

As a fusion of two Demon Kings also powers up his evil heart, which is implied to make him eviler than either fusee. Interestingly, he has the "Demon" mark from King Piccolo's Demon Clothes on his chest and Dabura's Majin mark on his forehead.
- Tekka (fused w/Dabura)
- Darkness Sword - The sword is very similar in appearance to a Chinese dadao but has a distinctive hook on the back of the blade.

Sand Land is a desolate wasteland inhabited by humans and demons, and where the supply of water is controlled by a greedy human king. Trivia[]
- His name is originally taken from the last half of the famous incantation, "Abracadabra".
- Just like Vegeta, Dabura loses the M on his forehead after King Yemma judged him. This suggests that Dabura may have actually been somewhat "benevolent" during his Demon Realm lordship. This would also explain why he apparently seems to have remorse for his actions in the anime. However, he still must have had evil in his heart to fall under Babidi's control.
- Reonald, a character in Akira Toriyama's Cowa! manga, looks very similar to Dabura. Reonald works as a bodyguard for the witch who lives on Mt. Mimizuku, where she sells the pills that can heal Paifu's friends from the monster flu.
- In the anime, it is odd when one considers the fact that Dabura become a good person after being sent to heaven, but his turn to good did not result in the Demon King being revived by Porunga along with Majin Buu's other victims as he was no longer evil when the wish was made in the anime. This potential plot hole however only exists in the anime as Dabura's redemption only occurs in anime Filler.
- In Buu's Fury, Dabura gets turned into a cupcake instead of a cookie.
- Whenever Dabura fights Spike the Devil Man in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, the two get special dialogue intended only for each other, with Devilman saying he will rule the underworld instead of Dabura.
- In Xenoverse 2, there is a back accessory known as Dabura Cookie based on Dabura's Cookie form.
- In World Mission, there is a sign above a cafe in Hero Town that advertises Dabura Cookies indicating it sell cookies inspired by Dabura's Cookie form. This is likely due to the popularity of the Super Dragon Ball Heroes game within Hero Town.
- Ironically the game world Dabura attacks Hero Town in the real world twice during the game's storyline as a member of the game world Organization of Babidi.
