"An effective move against Ki attacks,. Effectively stop your opponent's Ki blast, and you'll counter with an even more powerful Ki blast." |
Counter Burst (カウンターバースト Kauntābāsuto)[3] is a technique used by Vegeta in the Xenoverse series.
Overview
The user projects an Energy Shield that upon being hit by an enemy's Ki Blast based attacks allows the user to counter with an even more powerful Ki Blast of their own.
The technique itself is based off how Vegeta killed Sorbet with a deflected ki blast from Frieza in the film, though the energy shield was not present.
Video Game Appearances
Counter Burst was named and first appeared in Dragon Ball Xenoverse as one of Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta's Super Skills. It can also be obtained by the Future Warrior as in Resurrection ‘F’ Pack DLC Parallel Quest Event: "Room to Spare". In the game, it acts as a counter to Ki Blasts and Ki Blast skills.
In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, it returns as on of Vegeta's skills in his SSGSS form. After the 1.09.00 Update, it can be added to Vegeta's custom skillset after purchasing it in Partner Customization. It can be randomly obtained as a reward by the Future Warrior in Parallel Quest 75: "Room to Spare" which despite being a different number is virtually the same quest as the DLC quest it can be obtained in Xenoverse.
