Countdown to Revival; Crush Babidi’s Ambitions! (復活へのカウントダウン バビディの野望を打ち砕け!, Fukkatsu e no Kauntodaun Babidi no Yabō o Uchikudake!) is the one hundred fifteenth episode of Dragon Ball Z Kai. Its Japanese air date is August 3, 2014. Its American air date is June 24, 2017.

Summary

Goku and Vegeta's battle has finally begun. The energy of Buu's revival rapdily fills up from the damage the two take in battle. Feeling humiliation from such things as having been saved by Goku in the past, Vegeta puts his hatred into a ring shaped ki. He fires these at Goku, binding him up, and then attacks. But Goku tears off the rings, and counterattacks. Evenly matched, neither of them gives an inch. Vegeta confesses he did indeed allow Babidi to take control of him because he had begun to enjoy living on Earth and being a family with Bulma and Trunks, but this made him feel weak and he wanted to return to the evil prince he once was. Meanwhile, Gohan and Supreme Kai finally reach Babidi. They square off with Dabura and Babidi in front of the egg that Buu is sealed inside. The moment they are about to begin their assault, Buu's egg suddenly changes! Buu's revival energy is full from Goku and Vegeta's battle, even as the two continue their fight.

Trivia

  • In the Japanese version, when Goku states at the beginning of the episode, "I don't wanna take damage from you and contribute it to Majin Buu's energy." 'I'm gonna end this quickly, with my full power!", this denies the fact that he fights Vegeta as a Super Saiyan 2, when in fact, at this point his full power would be as a Super Saiyan 3, due to his intense 7 year training in the other world. However, he may have said this to avoid having to use Super Saiyan 3, since that would drain his time left on Earth.
  • The broadcast version of the the next episode preview was cut down from 30 seconds to 15 seconds, as the beginning featured a 15 second promotion for a special present giveaway from Fuji TV. Ten lucky fans who submitted a postcard to the lottery giveaway by 25 August 2014 would win a “Full Throttle! Action Kamehameha" wrist bracelet from Bandai. A full 30 second next episode preview was produced, as posted on Fuji TV’s official series website after the episode aired, and is included on the home video release. [1]
