"Really, Piccolo? Woohoo? This is the last time I ask a child to save the world!" |
Charging Ultra Buu Buu Volleyball (激突ウルトラブウブウバレーボール Gekitotsu Urutora Buu Buu Barēbōru, lit. "Clashing Ultra Boo Boo Volleyball") is a variation of Super Donut Chain used by Gotenks in his Super Saiyan 3 form.
Overview[]

Piccolo ready to hit the Buu Ball
After trapping the opponent in a volleyball-like energy sphere, Gotenks grabs the ball and hits it over to Piccolo, who sets it up into the air. Finally, Gotenks flies up and performs a "Spiking Buu Ball Slam" by spiking the volleyball down to the ground, creating a massive crater and inflicting a huge amount of damage.
Usage[]

Gotenks laughing at the crater caused by the technique
After using the Super Donut Chain to catch Super Buu in the midst of his Mystic Ball Attack, Gotenks decides to deal heavy damage to the Majin with the Charging Ultra Buu Buu Volleyball, requesting a reluctant Piccolo to set him with a "Wahoo!". Gotenks serves the volleyball to Piccolo, who sets it back for Gotenks to spike down to the Earth's surface. Flying after the ball, Gotenks and Piccolo discover that the attack has left a massive crater in the ground.[5]

Charging Ultra Buu Buu Volleyball in Budokai Tenkaichi
In Budokai Tenkaichi and Budokai Tenkaichi 2, Gotenks does this technique alone. This is changed in Budokai Tenkaichi 3, where Piccolo assists him, just like in the manga and anime.
In Supersonic Warriors 2, it is Piccolo and Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks' team attack.
In Battle of Z, it is named Charging Ultra Super Volleyball.
In FighterZ, it is Gotenks' Ultimate Attack. Normally, Gotenks will perform the move by himself, but if Piccolo is on his team, he will join in, though this is a cosmetic change and does not affect the damage done.
In Dragon Ball Legends, it is Gotenks' Ultimate Attack. When used, Gotenks will shoot the attack forward. If it successfully hits an enemy, it will play the special animation of Gotenks tossing it to an ally on his bench, or himself if both allies are KO'd, and then proceed to finish by slamming it down and exploding it.
Trivia[]
- Ironically, fat Gotenks himself would be used as a volleyball by his allies during the events of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero against the titanic Cell Max. Even more amusing was that the attack was the first to cause damage to Cell Max's weak point (Piccolo exclaiming that it was the first time a failed fusion had come in handy).
