So, we all know that in the original Japanese anime of Dragon Ball Super, Goku could anticipate Hit's attack and counter it, basically nullifying the advantage of Hit's Time-Skip. Hit could evolve his Time-Skip and Goku could evolve the speed of his prediction in battle. In the manga, we come to understand that Hit's skills only work on those who are near or below his power level, at least according to Whis.
But now we have a new issue that possibly doesn't have an easy answer, which is normal for Dragon Ball. lol
In the English dub during Goku's ki disorder, King Kai states, "That's exactly why you need to rest, so you don't tear yourself apart. The Kaio-ken wasn't your only gamble. That fight with Hit, when you were predicting his moves, you weren't just guessing. You were forcing your way into the future for an advantage, weren't you?" Goku replies, "Yeah, so?"
Now, I don't have the exact translation for the original Japanese scene of King Kai talking with Goku, and I have noticed that the translated subtitles are slightly different depending on the online outlet that allows me to watch in Japanese. The manga by Toyotaro skips Goku's ki disorder entirely.
Obviously, we have seen Goku and everyone at the Tournament of Power interacting at incredibly fast speeds, given that one episode from our perspective has entire conversations and battles that take place in universe within a span of two minutes or even one minute. There are plenty of feats in Dragon Ball that go beyond relativistic speeds, like when Jiren broke through Hit's Cage of Time (time cage) and whose power was stated by Vados to transcend time itself. Instant Transmission (though seemingly bound by certain principles of light speed such as when it was ineffective against the Pretty Black Hole) also lets the user travel distances instantaneously, which would exceed the speed of light, factoring in the small amount of time it would take to demolecularize and materialize near a ki-signature. We of course have to consider relativistic speeds, variable speeds and the simple fact that Dragon Ball (like most fiction) can be inconsistent.
The English dub clearly asserts that Goku forced his way into the future for an advantage over his opponent. Would the fandom consider this an outlier, a mistranslation, or an official feat?
