Have you ever experienced emotions before? They often cause people to react illogically. Yes, he would probably die if he didn't fight, but that's her son and he's just a child.
Do you think there aren't people out there who actively discourage their family members from joining the armed forces? That try to stop them from going to war? This take is very naive.
And what about Gohan's mental and emotional well-being? Are they not important? Gohan doesn't live to fight like Goku does.
Oh now its completely rubbish . Now its about emotion? Its logical its a story line .. Its so simple but naah you have to he all knowing and acting like a scholar asking me have you ever experienced emotions . Do you really think me saying that should ever rise such a Shallow question . I'm a Human being ofcourse i have experienced emotions and will do such until my end .. this just shows how you people take an argument just throw a stupid question to begin with ... I am just 21 and i suffer from severe ARTHRITIS so yeahh anyone who cares for me would discourage me although i would never be able to qualify in the 1st place .. But you're telling me if i would have been a special specimen of a race that is full of great and mightiest warriors and me my self have proved to be the strongest in very young age and on various difference occasions my mother would act like chi chi being soo stupid and tell me to study while earth could get destroyed ... And in order to shut this nonsense i would go even deeper . Don't even forget that They have something called dragon balls wich is no secret from chi chi there were countless deaths and revivals throughout the story and yet you're here just forcing emotions everytime just to some how prove nonsense that chi chi character revolves around .. Just this simple of a fact that dragon balls are there and they could revive is enough to knock off her stupid shit .. Everytime goku fought and saved the Earth and yet when he wants to train she asks him to be a good grandpa this is the type of nonsense that i was trying to address . Even a mother would make her son fight even if its just for merely the survival of her grandkids ... Its the fact that chi chi's the only one with such stupid reasons . If you wanna dig into emotion and reality then consider Everything for that matter ..
Someone doesn't know what a rhetorical question is.
Most stories are about people and people have emotions, Dragon Ball is no exception. Was Goku being logical when he spared various villains? Was Krillin being logical when he didn't shut down 18? Was Vegeta being logical when he let Cell absorb 18? Was Gohan being logical when he wanted to make Cell suffer? You can't give those other things a pass, but then harp on Chi-Chi for caring about her son. Even ignoring the fact that the Earth was about to be destroyed and the Dragon Balls wouldn't exist, Gohan would still die, I would imagine dying us a very traumatic experience and not something Chi-Chi would want her son to go through. In real life, we have hospitals and medical care, but mothers still don't want their children to get hurt.
Chi-Chi may be strict, but she cares about her children and doesn't want them to suffer.
