Dragon Ball Z: Betrayal is the twelfth volume of the original Pioneer Dragon Ball Z DVD and VHS releases. It was first released in 1999. It included three installments from the Namek Saga, episodes 35, 36, and 37. It was also included with the Namek Saga box set, which collected volumes 9-17.
Episodes
- The Nameks Versus Frieza - As Goku continues his long journey to Namek, Gohan and Krillin watch as the Nameks struggle to defend their planet from Frieza and his soldiers. Frieza is continuing his search for the fifth Namekian Dragon Ball, and will stop at nothing to get it.
- Escape from Dodoria - Frieza's henchman Dodoria threatens a Namek child during the search for the Dragon Ball, but Gohan becomes enraged, and he and Krilin rescue the child. They soon find themselves pursed by Dodoria, but they manage to give him the slip.
- Secrets Revealed - Dodoria is ambushed by Vegeta and reveals the secrets of the eradication of the Saiyan race in the hopes that it will spare his life. Vegeta decides to destroy Dodoria anyway, and then begins to search for Gohan and Krillin. When he cannot locate them, Vegeta decides to search for the Dragon Balls instead.
