Baby Gamera (子ガメラ Ko-Gamera) is a flying turtle that is associated with Master Roshi. It is a miniature version of the giant turtle kaijū Gamera from the Gamera series, who also appears in Akira Toriyama's previous manga series, Dr. Slump.

Main article: Emperor Pilaf Saga Roshi uses Baby Gamera to transport him to Fire Mountain in order to extinguish the fire so that Goku and Bulma can get the Dragon Ball inside Ox-King's castle.

"Future" Trunks Saga[]

Universe Survival Saga[]

Techniques and Special Abilities[]

  • Flight - Gamera uses rockets and rotational motion to move through the air and is used as an alternate form of transportation for Roshi being that he cannot ride the Flying Nimbus due to his impurity of heart. The side effects of riding Baby Gamera are getting really dizzy.

Video Game Appearances[]

Baby Gamera can be used to travel on the map in Gokuden.

It appears in Origins, seen in the same role, but also as an enemy in the caves of the Mushroom Forest and in Pilaf's Castle.

Baby Gamera makes a cameo in Budokai 2, on the loading screen with Master Roshi riding him; it can be moved by spinning the analog sticks in fast circular motions.

It also appears in the ending credits of Shin Budokai - Another Road, where Master Roshi is flying on it.

Trivia[]

  • Baby Gamera first appeared in Akira Toriyama's previous manga series, Dr. Slump, in chapter 34, "The Fairy Tale Machine".
  • Though Dragon Ball had a significant number of guest appearances from other Kaiju, Gamera is the only monster given a supporting role to the characters and to continue to appear in Dragon Ball games.
