Directory: CharactersAnimals Template:Character Baby Gamera is a flying turtle that is associated with Master Roshi. It is a miniature version of the giant turtle kaijū Gamera from the Gamera series, who also appears in Akira Toriyama's previous manga series, Dr. Slump.

Overview

BabyGamera

Baby Gamera in the anime

Gamera uses rockets and rotational motion to move through the air, and is used as an alternate form of transportation for Roshi being that he can not ride the Flying Nimbus due to his impurity of heart. Roshi uses Baby Gamera to transport him to Fire Mountain in order to extinguish the fire so that Goku and Bulma can get the Dragon Ball inside Ox-King's castle. The side effects of Riding Baby Gamera is getting really dizzy.

Video game appearances

Baby Gamera can be used to travel on the map in Dragon Ball 3: Gokuden. It appears in Dragon Ball: Origins, seen in the same role, but also as an enemy in the caves of the Mushroom Forest and in Pilaf's Castle.

Baby Gamera makes a cameo in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2, on the loading screen with Master Roshi riding him; it can be slightly moved by moving the analog sticks. It also appears in the ending credits of Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai - Another Road, where Master Roshi is flying on it.

Trivia

  • Baby Gamera first appeared in Akira Toriyama's previous manga series, Dr. Slump, in chapter 34, "The Fairy Tale Machine".
