Akinori Nagaoka (永丘 昭典; born on January 1, 1954) is a former animation director and producer from Nagasaki.

Biography

Akinori Nagaoka attended Chuo University. He debuted his career in 1974, while he was 20. He debuted as a director for Hajime Ningen Gyatoruz, and gained fame for directing Soreike! Anpanman.

Nagaoka later worked on the storyboard of Dragon Ball, and he directed the movie Dr. Slump: "Hoyoyo!" Space Adventure and the Dr. Slump remake.

He also worked on Bug tte Honey, (The) Diary of Anne Frank , Dracula: Sovereign Of The Damned, Ganbare Genki, Ganbare!! Tabuchi-kun!!, Hiatari Ryoko, Iga no Kabamaru, Madonna, Monster Rancher, Muu no Hakugei, Namakemono ga Miteta, Nana Toshi Monogatari, New Gigantor, Penguin's Memory: Shiawase Monogatari, Record of Lodoss War, (The) Rose of Versailles, Shin Kyojin no Hoshi II, Tetsuko no Tabi, Tokimeki Tonight, Touch, and Twin Spica.
