- The evil wizard Bibidi summons the mighty Majin Buu. Two of the five Supreme Kais are killed by the monster and the South Supreme Kai and Daikaioh are absorbed, adding an aspect of good to him as well as changing his appearance. Shin manages to kill Bibidi, who leaves the Sealed Ball where Buu is held on Earth.
- On Earth in the North Area, Earthlings begin to walk on two legs.
