My personal bet
King Vegeta I was the King of the Saiyans during the Saiyan-Tuffle War and was the one who wiped the Tuffle Race out, not Vegeta III as is commonly depicted, he was also the one who the planet was named after after the Saiyans conquered the Planet Plant/Vegeta, he was also the son of the last King Sadala of Universe 7, who either was from Yamoshi's era or was the descendant of the King when Yamoshi was alive and kept the name Sadala even after their planet was long gone
King Vegeta II was the first one to officially begin the Saiyan's relationship with the Cold Force that Vegeta III then inherited, he also was the first one to co-opt Frieza-style armor for the Saiyans to replace their ancestral Sadalan Armor, perhaps also the one who put the Saiyan Power-Based Caste system into place with stolen Tuffle Technology being used to check a baby's power level that would then be replaced with the scouters in King Vegeta III's era as we see in the DBS Broly movie
I also like to think that Vegeta II may have had something to do with how King Cold and Frieza learned of the legends of the Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan God
This idea took a fair few paragraphs to set up, so I apologize in advance for the wall of text. Part of my inspiration for this idea was one of Jonathan Young's music videos where humanity is forced to flee Earth:
- For this hypothetical scenario, we return to Planet Plant during the Saiyan-Tuffle War, which lasted between Ages 720 and 730 after relations between the two races soured for one reason or another. However, in Age 724, the Tuffles are able to incapacitate and capture one of the Saiyans alive - owing partially to this Saiyan having not trained his tail and the Tuffles accidentally discovering this fact before using it to their advantage.
With the captured Saiyan brought to a vast underground base to be interrogated and experimented on to look for a weakness that can be exploited for the Tuffle's benefit, one of the scientists - purely out of curiosity - decides to subject the captured Saiyan to Blutz Waves, since it will soon be time for Planet Plant to receive a showing of the Full Moon (something that only happens once every 100 years).
- To their horror, when exposed to Blutz Waves, the Saiyan not only breaks free of their restraints but undergoes a horrifying transformation; becoming a Great Ape that begins to devastate the underground base, killing hundreds of soldiers and other personnel while threatening to escape the base.
With their weapons having no notable effect, the Tuffle General responsible for the Saiyan's capture orders that weapon fire be focused on the tail as that was his weak spot they exploited when they captured him - with one of the Tuffles even manning a Planetary Defence Cannon (normally kept underground and raised to the surface to protect the planet in the event of meteors/asteroids) and aiming it at the Great Ape.
This cannon manages to score a lucky hit and blasts off the Saiyan's tail; causing the Saiyan to drop out of the Great Ape form and return to normal, albeit unconscious. Despite the pleas of the scientists, the General draws his sword and proceeds to kill the unconscious Saiyan by stabbing him in the neck.
- Needless to say, the events leave everyone shocked and horrified - especially as if one Saiyan was able to do this much damage, what would happen on the night of the Full Moon when more or less the entire species become Great Apes?
With the scientists pointing out that trying to find a way to cut off the Saiyan's tails would be pointless as they can grow back (along with King Vegeta making sure that it wouldn't keep happening as he was the smartest of the Saiyans), neither side been willing to accept peace and the Tuffles not having the adequate firepower to destroy their Moon due to the war effort, they were left with two options;
Option 01 - Try to find a way to destroy the Saiyans before the Full Moon in six years time.
Option 02 - Begin construction of one or more spacecraft to evacuate the populace off-world in case Option 01 could not be achieved; effectively abandoning their home.
- No-one liked Option 02, but the Tuffle King agreed to put it into effect; using another of their underground bases to begin construction of their "Ark" while re-routing necessary supplies for if the need arose. It wouldn't save their entire species, but at least it would give the Tuffles a chance to start again.
The Ark would thankfully be completed on time, but with the Tuffles still having failed to subdue the Saiyans. As such, evacuations began as men, women and children were boarded onto the Ark; many soldiers in their armed forces and air force agreeing to sacrifice their lives and forfeit their own places on the Ark in order to allow their species a chance to escape (assured by the higher-ups that their sacrifice would not be forgotten).
- When the Full Moon inevitably arose, the Saiyans would indeed become Great Apes and begin their rampage; the Tuffle Soldiers fighting to the last man to keep the Ark safe as it launched from its underground base into the stars above, with its occupants looking back for the last time at the homeworld they'd been forced to surrender to the Saiyans before their began their search for a new home planet.
(As for if Dr. Lychee and the Tuffle King still launch their own independent revenge plots, I'll leave that up to you guys to decide if they do or not).
- So, with the Tuffles abandoning Planet Plant to the Saiyans - which is later renamed Planet Vegeta before the Saiyans are annexed into the Frieza Force, which in turn acquires the remaining Tuffle Technology for themselves - do you think their survival would alter the Dragon Ball universe in any meaningful way?
Curious to see what you think.
Considering how long it took us before we saw Gine - the wife of Bardock and mother of Raditz and Goku - I think it may still be a while before we see anything concrete regarding King Vegeta's wife.
Outside of her been the mother of Vegeta and Tarble, all we know about her is that King Vegeta married her in Age 731 - a year after the end of the Saiyan-Tuffle War and the same year King Cold annexed the Saiyans into his Empire, with King Cold handing over the reigns to Frieza the following year.
However, if you had to come up with a backstory for her - from her early years up to her eventual death - what would you come up with?
I'm curious to see what you guys think. I'll probably add my own ideas in the comments later.
So I wanna know something: who is telling the truth? Were the Saiyans slaves and they rebelled against the Tuffles? Or did they attack the Tuffles for no reason?
It is explained by King Kai, and later by Baby, that the Tuffles had used their technological skills to construct and live in great cities. However, King Kai states that the Saiyans on the other hand, lived in small primitive villages in the outskirts and badlands of Plant. He also explains that although they shared the same planet, the two races rarely confronted each other and stayed relatively peaceful for many years. However, after a while, the Saiyans began to grow tired of living in filthy primitive villages (as well as allegedly being treated like slaves, from what Vegeta mentioned), and so it was devised that they would start a great war for the planet against the Tuffles.
I believe that both Baby and Vegeta were telling the truth. I do think that the Saiyans were slaves and that they rebelled against their masters. What do you guys say?
