- We get Piccolo been brought back to life, brought to Namek and then fusing with Nail before battling against Frieza in his second/"King Cold" form.
Sadly, even this isn't enough to bring the tyrannical ruler down and Frieza reveals that he has another transformation before beginning to transform.
- However, rather than just standing there and watching Frieza become his third/"Xenomorph" form, Piccolo decides to act; using his magic materialization to summon a bottle and a talisman - or a least the paper and pen needed to write one.
(After all, if Piccolo can use his powers to summon clothes and a sword for Gohan, I'm sure he can do this).
- With that set up, and Frieza (in mid transformation) jokingly asking if Piccolo is writing his last words before putting them in the bottle and throwing it into space for someone to find and read (although Krillin realizes what Piccolo is about to attempt after seeing it at the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament), Piccolo sets the talisman on the bottle before activating the Evil Containment Wave.
(This is something Piccolo does know, as he has his father's memories of the technique and even created a counter to it during the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament to entrap Kami).
Still in mid transformation, Frieza is caught up in the wave - with Krillin instructing Gohan to join him in giving Piccolo their energy as this technique can kill you. As such, with Krillin and Gohan giving Piccolo their energy while Dende holds the bottle steady at Piccolo's command, Piccolo is able to successfully trap Frieza inside the bottle before sealing it.
- With Piccolo exhausted, Dende gets to work on healing him - successfully saving Piccolo's life. When Vegeta asks about the technique, Krillin explains the evil containment wave and how it works - along with warning not to break the bottle or remove the talisman or Frieza will escape it.
For Vegeta, he picks up the bottle and has an evil smirk on his face - since while he couldn't kill Frieza, he now has the Emperor as his "prisoner, which proves somewhat cathartic after all the years he had to suffer under Frieza's rule.
- Question is, with Namek spared and Frieza sealed away rather than been killed, how would the story play out?
Would things still play out in a mostly positive way, with Vegeta still settling with Bulma, Future Trunks showing Goku Super Saiyan so he can still achieve it later and King Kai maybe suggesting about going to Yardrat to get stronger so the timeline mostly aligns with what we know?
Or, will Piccolo's entrapment of Frieza in this situation lead to more dire consequences that derail the Dragon Ball Timeline badly?

This DBZ fan-art is a drawing of Goku's 1st victory over his arch-nemesis, Frieza, the evil emperor. In the episode, Frieza Defeated, Frieza was cut in half by his own deadly energy disk, which left Goku the winner of their fight. In this drawing, Goku stands over the defeated Frieza, who's been cut in half. To quote the narrator:
"At last, the mighty Frieza has been derailed. Cut down by his own deadly attack. Could this truly be the end of Frieza?" Enjoy.

A slightly altered version of a thread I did some months back, although in that version Broly was taken to Yardrat. Here, he's taken to a different location.
- For this hypothetical scenario, we get the scene in the past where King Vegeta learns of Broly's power level been equal to or potentially surpassing his son; responding with a mix of jealousy/fear for his family's rule as well as concern that Broly will become a threat to Planet Vegeta's existence due to his power. As such, he sends him away in a pod to Vampa.
Paragus learns of this and guesses the King's reason for doing so. This time, however, he doesn't give chase; assuming (albeit incorrectly) that King Vegeta will already have thought of that and will prevent him from pursuing his son. As such, Paragus merely states his hope that Broly will return and prove the King wrong before leaving; King Vegeta requesting afterwards that Paragus be monitored just in case he tries anything.
(Honestly, considering King Vegeta considered Broly such a threat as to banish him, the fact he let Paragus go so easily without any attempt to stop him feels off to me).
- Having anticipated that going after his son himself won't be possible, Paragus decides to have someone else rescue his son. While out on a mission and while his fellow Saiyans are sleeping, Paragus - after scanning to see the locations of various Saiyans out on missions - notices that Bardock's Team are the closest to Vampa. As such, he uses his ship's radio to send a coded message to Bardock - informing him of his son Broly been on Vampa and requesting for Bardock to go and rescue him before taking him to another, more hospitable world where Paragus can retrieve him later; sharing information regarding the locations of Cold/Frieza Force Traffic Control stations so Bardock can avoid getting picked up.
(As for why he's contacting Bardock specifically to do this mission, the original version of Paragus was implied to be Bardock's superior, so I'm carrying that over here).
- Needless to say, Bardock tells his crew to carry on the mission without him and stall anyone who asks for him. Before leaving, Gine - who I'd imagine is still part of Bardock's team at this point - offers to come with him, since he's off to recover a child and she may be able to help better there than she has fighting on the battlefield.
Bardock relents and allows her to accompany him to Vampa in a two-seater pod - the pair managing to land safely and with Bardock wiping out any Vampa Beetles that attack them before the pair find Broly's ruined pod. Not long afterwards, Bardock uses a Scout-Scope to successfully find the young Saiyan, with him been surprised to see Broly surrounded by dead Vampa Beetles and even eating one of their legs.
Despite Broly's power level been higher than Gine's own (and Bardock wanting to just grab the youngster by the tail to get him quickly), Gine is able to use some of their rations - notably actual food and water - as well as her kind nature to coax Broly over to her; the young Saiyan coming to trust her (since she's been nice and giving him food that tastes better than Vampa Beetle fluids) and allowing himself to be taken by the pair back to their ship, with Bardock noting that Broly must have become a Great Ape based on his armour been stretched and torn in places.
- As for where to take the young Saiyan, Bardock scours through several planets that aren't on the Cold/Frieza Force's radar (or are at least low on it). After looking through them, he and Gine settle on Namek - owing to the planet been relatively out of the way, so Broly should be fine there.
When they arrive (Gine having taken charge of looking after Broly, although Bardock did interact with him a bit by showing him some basic combat techniques), Bardock and Gine request for the Namekians to look after Broly; Gine explaining to their elder, Guru, that Paragus should hopefully be able to collect him at some point.
Needless to say, Guru agrees to look after Broly until then – having sensed his pure heart despite his fluctuating power – and so Bardock and Gine leave; Gine getting a bit emotional during their journey back at leaving Broly behind as she had started to bond with the boy, although Bardock assured her that he would be fine (him mulling over getting Gine to quit fighting and do something else).
In any case, Bardock informed Paragus via coded message that Broly had been rescued and where he'd been taken to, with Paragus thanking Bardock for this; their messages remaining secret.
- While Paragus would intend to leave Planet Vegeta and recover his son at some point, it sadly wouldn't be the case as he was still been heavily monitored to make sure he couldn't slip away to rescue his son. Ultimately, he - along with Bardock, Gine and most of the Saiyans - would sadly perish during Frieza's genocidal attack on Planet Vegeta five years later, with this leaving only a few survivors who weren't on the planet at the time.
As for Broly, Guru and the Namekians would continue looking after him - with Nail been strong enough to train Broly and end any "tantrums" the boy may have (since his power level is 42,000), while the Namekians would also have meditation techniques to help Broly's mind.
With Broly growing up on Namek this time, how do you think this may change the Dragon Ball timeline?

- For this hypothetical idea, we return to the Frieza Saga back in Dragon Ball Z, after Vegeta has used up all his strength to hit Frieza with his strongest attack...only for Frieza to effortlessly kick it away as if it were a football/soccer ball.
Realizing that he's not the Legendary Super Saiyan as he believed he was, with all of his energy used up on a attack that did nothing and having lost the will to fight with the realization that Frieza is going to kill him, Vegeta begins to cry for the first time in his life.
- With that, Frieza goes on the offensive; sadistically and mercilessly beating Vegeta around now that the Saiyan Prince can't fight back.
This time, however, Frieza decides to let Vegeta in on a secret since he's going to be killing the Prince anyway. During his beating of Vegeta, Frieza reveals the real reason that he destroyed Planet Vegeta; stating that while the potential reality of the "Legendary Super Saiyan" and "Super Saiyan God", along with the Saiyans constantly getting stronger every time they recovered, were the reasons he gave his men and would indeed have been the reason he'd done it if the choice was his alone, the reality was that he was ordered to destroy Planet Vegeta by Lord Beerus - the God of Destruction.
- Vegeta soon remembers who Beerus is and remembers seeing the purple cat degrading his father, King Vegeta, when he was a child. Following this, Frieza states that Beerus intended to wipe out the Saiyans as he saw them as nothing but trouble and that they'd never shape up; Beerus asking Frieza to blow up Planet Vegeta on his behalf.
Following this revelation, Frieza beats up Vegeta more and - after Goku shows up - mortally wounds Vegeta, who dies after telling Goku what he told him in the anime (Vegeta leaving out the whole "Lord Beerus" part in this case as he was short on time from been shot in the chest and Goku isn't exactly the smartest tool in the shed).
- Like in the original, Vegeta is revived by Mr. Popo's wish to Shenron, along with most of the Namekians, and later transported to Earth by Porunga.
The question is, however, with Frieza spilling the real reason for Planet Vegeta's destruction, will this change anything when Dragon Ball Super rolls around and Vegeta - who this time knows from the start that Beerus ordered his people and planet wiped out (instead of finding out in the Granolah The Survivor Saga) - encounters the God of Destruction for the first time in decades as the purple cat arrives on Earth to seek the Super Saiyan God?

I recently did a poll where I asked if you guys thought Raiti and Zaacro ever got off of Fake Namek. In the comments, I briefly touched upon this idea but decided to make it its own thread.
So, here we go:
- Just like in the original filler, Bulma, Krillin and Gohan - on their journey to Namek - crash onto "Fake Namek" and are knocked out; been found by Raiti and Zaacro, who proceed to learn who the group are, their mission and more via their "brain drain" ability.
However, rather than immediately jumping onto their "create a wild goose chase and steal their ship when the weather improves" plan, the pair this time decide to instead go for the "sympathy" option - especially as if the real Namek has Dragon Balls (or this group are able to get Earth's Dragon Balls working again), then they could just use a wish on one of those sets in order to get themselves home again.
- When the trio wake up, Raiti and Zaacro - still in their original forms - greet them (although their appearance does give the three a fright at first).
Once that awkward moment is over and the pair apologize for frightening the group and reveal that they know details about the three due to "scanning them" for any injuries that may have been caused in the crash, they reveal that this isn't Namek, that the two of them crashed here years ago, they can't leave due to the fog surrounding the world (as well as due to damage to their ship) and it will take them 50 years to get home even if they get off-world.
- Sure enough, Bulma, Gohan and (albeit a more reluctant) Krillin offer for the pair to come with them; informing them about their plan to go to Namek and hopefully use their Dragon Balls to revive their friends (in turn getting their Dragon Balls back), with them promising to use Earth's Dragon Balls to send Raiti and Zaacro back home. If they can't, they'll at least ensure that Raiti and Zaacro have a nicer home on Earth as it's a much nicer place than Fake Namek.
The two aliens agree to this and eventually the group of five are able to escape New Namek before reaching the real planet.
So, with Raiti and Zaacro joining Bulma, Gohan and Krillin on Namek (and with their various abilities including their prehensile tongues, brain drain, telekinesis, shapeshifting and illusion casting making them useful despite both of them only having a power level of 500 each), how do you think the timeline would change?

For those who don't know, there were three Frieza Force Soldiers who were killed on Namek, but who weren't killed by Vegeta or the heroes. Those soldiers were Cranberry, Orlen and Namole.
Cranberry died after he was blasted back by a Namekian before Zarbon delivered the killing blow by kicking him away.
Orlen was killed by Frieza due to failing to complete his mission (getting information regarding where Vegeta may have hidden his Namekian Dragon Ball).
Namole was killed for showing fear in Frieza's presence (although the Blue Water Dub changes the reason to him questioning Frieza's orders regarding if the Ginyu Force are needed).
All three were revived by Mr. Popo's wish to Shenron ("bring back everyone killed by Frieza and his men"), but Cranberry is the only one we got any further details on; him stealing one of the Ginyu Pods to escape Namek and becoming a thief before he was arrested; later becoming a lackey to Moro.
Orlen and Namole's fates, however, are left unexplained. So, what do you think happened to them both?
- Did they escape Namek in two of the remaining four Ginyu Pods and just rejoin the Frieza Force like nothing happened?
- Did they escape Namek and, like Cranberry, set off to do their own thing?
- Did they settle on Earth after Dende wished for Porunga to send everyone on Namek to Earth except Goku and Frieza?
- Did they do something else entirely?
Curious to see what you guys think.
K so I'm super new to the Dragon Ball Fandom. I just started watching Dragon Ball Z and just finished the Cell saga. I have a big question, sorry if it's been asked or explained already.
Goku was able to instant transmission to the new Namek after asking King Kai. Then he got access to the Namekian dragon balls. So I was thinking, in Future Trunk's time, since everybody is dead; can't he ask Goku where the new Namek is located? Then go back to his time and get on a spaceship over there. Wish back everybody who died from Android 17 and Android 18. He can even wish back Goku from his time who died from the virus since he gets 3 wishes. And bam, everyone is alive again. The Namekian dragon already wished back all the people of Namek so I'm pretty sure the wishes would work. He could get the coordinates from Goku or King Kai and then give them to his mom to program into the spaceship and go. It's sad Trunks has to live in a time where everyone is gone...

- For this scenario, we rewind back to when Goku had given Frieza some energy after the Galactic Emperor was...well, I'm sure you can make some puns about what happened to him; DBZA Goku certainly did.
In any case, as Frieza watches Goku fly away after insulting Goku (this time making Goku angrier than before as he also insults Gohan and Krillin) before then attempting his 'Last Emperor' attack. Like before, Goku sees this and - with the classic line "YOU FOOL!" - responds with an 'Angry Kamehameha'.
Due to been angrier this time thanks to Frieza's choice of words, Goku's Angry Kamehameha has more power behind it and - while still not killing Frieza - it deals more damage to the already wounded Tyrant than in the original.
- The consequence of this is that when Frieza is caught up in Namek's explosion, he in turn takes even more damage. While he will ultimately survive this still - despite having half of his face blown off - the damage this time is revealed to be more severe as he is recovered by King Cold and rebuilt as "Mecha-Frieza". Upon awakening, this damage is revealed as he doesn't recognize his surroundings, can't tell if King Cold is truly his father and is unable to even recall his name or the events that led to his mutilated state.
Put simply, Frieza's memory is impaired (and for the sake of this "What-if?", the memory loss is permanent) - meaning he can't remember the name of the "Super Saiyan" who he fought or the planet he was from, let alone most of his own past. As a consequence of this, Frieza simply telling his Dad which direction to go so he can get revenge is no longer on the table here - so no invasion of Earth.
(This in turn is likely going to confuse Future Trunks when he shows up and the invasion his mum warned him about never shows up).
- With this alteration, how do you think the DBZ (and possibly DBS) timeline would change?
: Would Frieza - despite not remembering his past - continue to live and re-learn what he needs to become the Empreror again; maybe training/upgrading himself to grow stronger and prevent what happened repeating itself?
: Would Frieza's fresh perspective on his life promote a different change, with even the possibility of him becoming a good guy or anti-hero/anti-villain?
: Would King Cold dispose of/attempt to dispose Frieza since he's no longer fit to rule; instead beginning work on a new “replacement” to take over his Empire and possibly instigating a 'civil war' if Frieza survives the attempt on his life?
: Would something else entirely happen?
Curious to see what you guys think.
