In the film The Return of Cooler and some of the games - that been Shin Budokai - Another Road and Xenoverse 2 - Cooler (in both his original form and his 'Meta-Cooler' form) is capable of using Instant Transmission.
Furthermore, his usage of it is more advanced than Goku's own ability with the technique - with these including both Hyper Movement and Feint Crash.
Question is, how and when did he learn this technique?
Do you think he forced the Yardrats to teach him as part of his training to keep up with Frieza (and eventually overthrow his brother, as he admitted to wanting to do in the film Cooler's Revenge), or do you think he learned this technique a different way?
Curious to see what you guys think.

Goku could have easily just teleported right back to Earth and left Cell and KIng Kai's planet, and he wouldn't have had to die.
I know we've talked about this before, but I don't know if Instant Transmission really is Instant. We've got various feats through non-canon that show that Instant Transmission can be sensed, such as when Super 17 knew exactly where Goku would be.

I still think this Android 17 is better than the one in DBS just based on cool factor and the fact he had a gimmick that explained his power increase, but this isn't about that. I know that the argument would be simply that this isn't "Canon". And, well... you're right. But the same feat was replicated in DBS as well. I spent quite some time trying to find it. Only recently did I find it. I thought it was Frieza Vs. the Yardrat, but it wasn't. It was Goku Vs. Kale and Caulifla.
(9:08)
Caulifla sensed Goku's location the moment he jumped. We know Caulifla isn't faster than SSJ2 Goku, and Goku wouldn't use a technique slower than himself, and if Goku is faster than instant, then Instant Transmission in this battle is useless. This is why I think it's name is a hyperbole. Get across long distances in an "Instant" as in a relatively short amount of time by comparison. But as far as we've seen, Instant transmission isn't entirely instant. Not in Z filler, definitely not in Z Movies, and absolutely not in GT. However, the same is true for DBS. Just by looking at the way Instant Transmission works in the DBS Anime, one can see the jumping, even when one returns. Goku isn't fully there yet, which means he's not entirely Instant. This is why I would like to posit that reactions to Instant Transmission shouldn't be considered infinite speed feats, as it's possible to sense someone's appearance BEFORE they transmit there, as well as the fact that the user doesn't fully form instantly. It's a process, therefore the name is Hyperbole. At least in all Anime continuities.

We saw during the T.O.P that Goku could still use his Instant Transmission ability. With that in mind, couldn't he have just defeated Jiren by grabbing hold of him and using Instant Transmission to "teleport" them both to the bench?
Granted I doubt Goku would do that since he loves fighting - and I think a fair few of the characters in the show as well as the audience would probably respond with "Wait, What?!" - but do you think he could?
It's a few strange how japanese authors confuse high speed with teleportation. But at the same time, it's understandable, both of them involve supernatural movement
Anyway, nowadays we know how does teleport works: a superpower based on instant transportation, so the time needed is on the power concentration, not the space dislocation, unlike normal high speed power(s).
I like how Goku is known as a symbol of this type of fictional power because of his frequence usage and combat creativity with this ability, haha

How do you feel about Vegeta learning Instant Transmission?
Ok nobody has brought this up in a while but I would like to disprove it anyway, along with a few other things.
For those who don’t know, having Immeasurable speed is being faster than instant movement. Infinite is instant movement.
Now that that is out of the way…
People have said in the past that he has immeasurable or infinite speed because he was faster than or the same speed as Instant Transmission respectively.
And it has some truth. Meta-Cooler did intercept Goku mid teleportation.
But Instant Transmission isn’t instant in the movies.
In anime filler (which the movies are canon to and vice versa), Goku explains that Instant Transmission is done through entering the “Teleportation Realm”, and manually disassembling your atoms, then reassembling them in the space of arrival.
This by definition means its not true teleportation, and therefore not instant.
Meaning Meta-Cooler just punched Goku faster than he can rematerialize.
Another thing is when Granolah used a technique that according to Goku is faster than Instant Transmission, which in canon IS instant (probably).
This technique does not move faster than Instant Transmission, Goku meant he can activate it faster than Instant Transmission, which makes sense.
It’s possible that Granolah’s technique (which for some reason Gas didn’t use later on, likely because he forgor) apparently does not require to lock in on energy, and he doesn’t need to do the finger thing. Technically you don’t need to do the finger thing for Instant Transmission to work normally, but it takes longer to do it.
Ight thats all
I think it was ok, until Moro merged with the Earth. I actually liked Moro as a villain, but besides of being able to consume planets and stealing their energy, he wasn’t that great of a villain. Vegeta doing instant transmission was pretty cool, but stubborn him that he doesn’t wanna use the technique ever again, he has no idea how useful it can be (please, don’t spoil, if he used it again during the Granolah saga, and beyond)! Merus was an alright character, but I didn’t like the fact that he was an angel, he could’ve stayed mortal forever, and there was a MASSIVE plothole about him being an angel apprentice! If he wasn’t allowed to fight except for training, then how was he able to stay alive for so long during all of his years in the Galactic Patrol? And that’s pretty much my opinion about the saga. What do you think, it was decent? It was meh? Or it was plain horrible? Let’s debate this in the reply thread and hear your POV’s.
