In theory, a gohan who trained the full time should be stronger. But from what we see in GT, that’s not the case.

If Gohan got weaker between Z and GT, Baby wouldn't have staked his attack on Vegeta (who does nothing but improve) on Gohan's body. He would've taken Piccolo instead of wasting him.

Interesting & Understandable.

In GT, Goku stated that Rildo was "Stronger than Buu" and Gohan fought pretty well against him in base form without even going Super Saiyan. He apparently didn't feel the need to. So Gohan is at least 100X greater than his Ultimate form in Z.

GT gohan was stated to have kept training after the buu saga so he should logically be stronger than buu saga gohan.

Although I can definitely see why some casual fans would think otherwise. Gohans only actual fights in GT were against baby goten and general rildo. Both fight (especially the rildo fight) did gohan VERY dirty.

Yeah I still have no idea why the writers didn’t have gohan even go super siayan against rildo when he was doing that bad against him in base form. And then they had to have piccolo and majuub come save him like gohan was going to die then and their. GT makes even less sense and treats their characters worse than super.

I assumed he was more taken by surprise by the metal breath Rildo was using. I thought he might still be able to win, but Rildo was just blitzing him and slowing him down with metal breath.
