When sins of the past and ambition so great meet, the future is in their grasp. Playing their hands dirty, good will fall back and evil gains the fruits of victory. This is the story of Nion, the Eternal Guardian. The woes of this story branch from his darker half who once served by Frieza's side and threatened the universe from where he was. This "Dark" Nion had since reformed upon combining with his good half. The heart, body, and soul that had been rifted in the past had once again converged into one man, whole and complete. But the sins of the past have a way of catching up. Once more the universe is threatened.
For years, peace reigned. Nion had once more returned to his family. His son, Ungie, was 16 years old, and among the peace they knew, a new blessing had come upon them in the form of a second son. Pan having been rushed to the hospital was giving birth. However, the past was coming calling, and the payment was due. Nion sensed this, and was filled with dread on this joyous occasion. In keeping with the family naming convention, the young son born was called Scallion. Not wishing to leave the side of his wife and newborn son, Nion left the errands to Ungie, who was eager to show how responsible he had become in preparation to becoming a big brother. But Nion's fear was almost precognitive. Out to get lunch, Ungie found himself face to face with a Saiyan. This one was not one he had known prior to this, but the face was all too familiar. A short battle took place, but in the end, even with his Super Saiyan god transformation, Ungie was defeated, beaten to a pulp. He was spared, yet beat to within an inch of his life. The objective after all was not Ungie, but to send a message. Nion was with his newborn son, holding him in his arms, and for the first time took a sigh of relief. Yet something suddenly did not feel right. A group of doctors rushed by, and on the stretcher was his first born, barely recognizable. Leaving Scallion with his mother, he rushed out and watched as Ungie was taken into the OR. "What happened?!" He shouted. "Was that my Ungie?!" The doctor looked over. "He was found on the side of the road, beaten half to death. We need to act quickly or he will die." For hours, Nion waited. Grabbing his phone, he sent out a text to his friends, asking them to come to the hospital. "Please come soon. Ungie is hurt pretty badly." A text came back from Minos. "Wait. You named your second born after your first?" A reply from Dan. "No, dumbass. Ungie is in the hospital too!" Veran sent a text saying "I always wanted to try hospital food. On my way, bro." Nion waited, and eventually the doctor came to him. "Your son is out of surgery, but the damage was pretty bad. His back was shreded into a phrase. 'You abandoned me, now I will kill your precious son'." The doctor showed Nion the pictures. "Did he have any enemies?" Nion shook his head through tears. "No, but I do..." The doctor sighed. "In any case, we managed to stabilize him, but only God knows if he'll make it through the night." Nion was almost brought to tears. "Can I see him?" The doctor nodded. "He's in room 416." Nion made his way to the room to see his son lying flat on his back, body bandaged like a mummy, a ventilator down his throat. Nion sat down. There wasn't even a second. After Buu, there was a skermish with a cult to stop Hirudegarn's revival and then this birth. So much was happening. One son was coming into life, and another was close to death. Why did this sort of thing always have to happen? It almost seemed like if something bad might happen, it would happen to him. Fate seemed to always target him. He held his son's hand and his spirit groaned within him. He looked to his son through tears and a face of rage. There he vowed to kill whatever monster would do this to him. It wasn't long after that a call came in. Capsule Corp had just been broken into, and a dimensional rift generator had been stolen. Odd enough, the image showed a Saiyan with wild black hair with a single white stripe going down the middle. Red ki blasts being thrown left and right, destroying walls and killing guards. Nion almost recognized the person doing it, but wasn't sure. It almost seemed like... himself? Did Nion have ANOTHER evil doppleganger? One thing was for certain. He wore Frieza Force Armor. Eventually, Corrin, Dan, Minos, and Veran showed up. Nion told them what had happened and what was going on. It wasn't long after that the lights flickered and the ground shook. Like a bomb had gone off. Nion went to the window, and saw that a rift in time and space had opened up in the sky, and out of it came a particular space ship that he knew well. "...Frieza..." Nion said. Minos scoffed. "Frieza? Didn't we kill him already?" Nion looked back. "This isn't the Frieza you know. It's from the dimension my Dark Counterpart is from. In that dimension, Frieza killed Goku and Vegeta, Gohan and Krillin, and even Piccolo on Planet Namek with my help. He was given the Dragon Balls, and he used them to wish for immortality. With his immortal body, he grew stronger and conquered the whole universe. Even Beerus fell when Frieza ended the Supreme Kai. Now he's back... he's looking for his servant..." Dan looked over. "You mean he's here for you?" Nion nodded. "I can think of no reason... and the prase on Ungie's back 'You abandoned me...' is not a coincidence..." Veran popped his knuckles. "Immortality or not, Imma kill 'im." Nion went to Pan and told her what was happening. He begged the nurses to watch over his family and exited the building with his friends. His first priority was to get to the Dimensional Rift Machine that Capsule Corp had been working on to get Dan home and secure it. When he got there, he was surprised. A Saiyan stood before the machine and turned around. His hair was different, and his general body structure and skin-tone was a little different, but the face was not to be hidden from Nion's soul. "...U-...Ungie...?" The Saiyan smiled. "In the flesh." Nion looked back at the hospital. "B-But... how? Time travel?" The boy seemed to growl. "You really have forgotten me. I had held out hope... but then again, you never really cared." Nion stood there for a second. "...I don't get it." He said. The Saiyan identified now as a Ungie then spoke. "It's me, DAD, " He stressed the name. "I suppose you wouldn't remember me. You probably didn't even know I was born. That's the blessing of being a universally renowned mercenary. You get to be with any woman you want, and regardless of if they get pregnant or not, you don't have to stay." With that said, Nion understood. This wasn't his Ungie. This was the son of his Dark Counterpart that had worked for Frieza. "...Son?" Ungie touched his nose. "Yes... but then again... you lost the right to call me that. I'm just a scout sent by Lord Frieza. He wants to see you, by the way... don't worry... Your family will be in safe hands..." Ungie then used his instant transmission. Nion was tempted to try to find him, but a large group of Frieza Force Warriors came down from the sky, raiding the city. Nion tried to fight them with Dan, Minos, and Veran to the best of their ability, but it was troublesome. Inside the hospital, Pan stood. It was painful indeed, but she knew what she had to do as a mother. She decided to make her way down to the nursery. To her surprise, she saw Ungie, but she knew immediately that it wasn't her Ungie. "Oh. Hello, Mommy!" He said with sadistic sarcasm. "C'mere and give your baby boy a HUG!" He began to skip his way down the hall like some child, all while the look in his eyes showing pleasure in the idea of killing the woman who had ruined his father. She began to fire off ki blasts to stop him, but they were practically nothing. Suddenly, another ki blast struck from behind. The Dark Ungie almost took a spill. He looked back to see his Light counterpart standing there. "Oh. You're still alive, huh." Ungie stood there in Super Saiyan Blue. The Zenkai he had achieved from nearly being killed by his doppleganger had pushed him over the wall. Just barely. "I see. You're using that one form that Dad always hated. That 'god' form. The same one that nobody would ever teach him... I guess dad really has changed..." Dark Ungie growled until he achieved Super Saiyan 4. "Even with that form, in your weakened state... against me, the son who endured a thousand campaigns with the Frieza force... you're gonna wish you died..." The battle began, and it surely seemed like the Drak version of Ungie might win, but Light Ungie pushed his power as far as it would go, and then added his signiture Kaioken on top. Pan begged him to stop. In his condition, he was in no shape to push himself so far. Ungie didn't care though. His mother and little brother was in trouble, and he needed to do it. In the end, Light Ungie repelled his Dark Counterpart's assault. Dark Ungie fled, and it was about this time that Nion returned to protect his family. "Pan, are you alright?" She nodded. Nion looked to Ungie who stood in his Super Saiyan god Super Saiyan form while using the Kaioken still. He seemed unconscious to all appearances. "...Ungie?" Ungie's eyes looked to Nion. He smiled. "Did ya see me dad? Did ya see me?" His form faded and he fell on his face. Nion rushed over. "Ungie!" He raised Ungie. Ungie's wounds had reopened and were bleeding, his skin steaming and red from the Kaioken. He turned him over. "Ungie?" Ungie's eyes opened. "...Dad?" Nion nodded. "Yes, son... why did you... That Kaioken. You shouldn't have used it on such a new form. Why would you destroy your body like that?" Ungie grinned. "...Cuz I'm a... big bro... Please tell me that... Scallion's okay." Nion nodded. "Yes. He is. I just checked on him before coming up." Ungie sighed. "...I'm glad..." His head bobbed forward. Nion checked his pulse. "Shit. He's not breathing." He proceeded to do CPR and use his own ki as a defibrillator, but it didn't seem to be helping. Corrin then got the idea. He pulled out a senzu bean. "Here! Try this!" Nion took the bean, chewed it up, and forced it down Ungie's throat. He held him. "Please... don't go... Please..." He waited for what felt like almost forever. whether it was the bean of simple will power to not leave his family behind, Ungie took a deep breath and his eyes opened. He almost came off the floor with energy. Nion sighed in relief. "Y-Your okay?" Ungie nodded. "I-I think so..." Nion's face turned red. "Don't ever scare me like that again!" He shook him by the shoulders. "If you had died, it would have freaking killed me!" Ungie didn't frown. He continued to smile. He knew his father was experiencing all of these emotions at once and didn't know where to put them. Ungie leaned forward and hugged him. "I love you dad. I'm sorry that I scared you." Nion just sort of buried his head in Ungie's neck and proceeded to cry. He did this until Dan nudged him. "We've got to finish this, Nion. Then, if that device survives, I can finally go back home." Nion stood. "You're right. Let's go." He put his hand on Ungie's shoulders. "Take care of your mother and brother, son."
