Okay so, In Episode 67, it seems like it's implied that Future Trunks and Future Mai travel through time to before the events of the Goku Black's attack on humanity, but it somewhat seems open to interpretation. Rather than roughly traveling back to around Age 788 before Beerus and Shin's death by Zamasu, wouldn't it make more sense for Future Trunks and Future Mai to travel back in time to Age 764 before Mecha Frieza, King Cold and their subordinates arrive just like Future Trunks did originally so they could keep as many people alive as possible who died because of the Android Apocalypse and the Goku Black Apocalypse?
Beerus and Shin would still be alive, giving plenty of time for Beerus and Whis to erase or capture Zamasu. Yes, I know that would make it easier on Future Trunks and Future Mai to travel to Age 764, but they would still have a lot of pressure on their shoulders as well, because of whether or not they remember to bring Goku his heart virus medicine before they travel back to that, and they have to manage this timeline's Beerus' temper. Even though they would have to fight Mecha Frieza threat, the Android and Cell threat, the Majin Buu threat, Beerus if he gets upset and wants to fight a Super Saiyan God and demands to hear all of Trunks' story, including Super Saiyan Blue/God, and Frieza again in his golden form. The Tournament of Power if Zeno ever gets interested in that too. Despite all that Future Mai and Future Trunks would still have a chance to live with all of the people who they lost in her original time, in a younger state. Imagine Future Trunks acting as a mentor to this timeline's Gohan, Goten and Trunks. Either time Beerus would still be alive, it just seems like better writing to go Age 764, and it would give Future Trunks so much more motivation and power to get things right this time. It's somewhat of a big plothole, but I don't mind making headcanons to make things more coherent for me. Anyway, what's your input on this plothole or topic?
